Last Gasp House Ornaments + NEW Halloween!
Filed under Christmas, Halloween, Kristin Batsel, Miniatures

The House Ornaments are back for a limited time. So I’m revisiting one of my favorite Design Team projects using that house (and all the supplies for that artwork are in today’s sale)… more info below.
But first there’s some new Halloween goodies — also in the sale!
25% off the House Ornaments + NEW Halloween SALE collection through WEDNESDAY night, July 22nd. You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!
New Supplies for Halloween!
Note that the original dark orange color of the Scary Jack-o-Lantern (shown at right with the 2 new colors) has been added to the sale, too!
See below in the “sale recap” section for a few more additions. But first… we’re inching toward fall and here’s a bunch of cute new supplies for Halloween!
Holly Jolly Christmas House by Kristin Batsel
Kristin used the House Ornament, and lots of the coordinating add-ons (like window trims, dormers, and a tiny fence) — all of those are included in today’s sale!
I love the way Kristin’s little house turned out! So cheery and inviting. Good thing she provided a tutorial, too! For things like how to apply tissue paper behind tiny windows and leaving room to glue down all your little items (like the peppermint stepping stones).
“This little house stands only about 3” tall, not counting the base. It was made from a kit, and if you read on through to the bottom of my post, I’ll talk about how it was put together. Meanwhile, here are some more photos. The tiny family who lives here sure did a good job of decorating the tallest tree! It’s easy to attach the beads; I just dipped them in some tacky glue and stuck them into the branches. Note: I substituted Mixed Color Acrylic Pearls – 3mm-8mm for the original beads as they’re the same sizes.
“You can totally fence your house in, or you can use an xacto knife to cut a little gate. I think it looks nice to have an open gate with the pathway leading to the front door.”
Learn more in Kristin’s post and don’t forget to see everything from Kristin’s Supply List.)
Recap: House Ornaments + NEW Halloween SALE
Remember that all the new items and Kristin’s supply list are included in the sale.
BONUS: the larger “size comparison” items shown below are also in the sale! (They’re each shown with one of today’s new items.)
There’s a new AUTOMATIC DISCOUNT for an extra 25% off the listed prices: you’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!
Note that the 25% off discount on clearance items means that they are over 50% off original prices!
The sale ends WEDNESDAY NIGHT, July 22nd at midnight PST.
New Christmas Trims on SALE plus Sugar & Spice Peppermint Tin!
Filed under Altered Tins, Beads, Christmas, Connie Littell
Time for a Christmas in July project? Seems like dreaming of snow during all these heatwaves will help keep you cool…
And a new beautiful snowy and peppermint-filled shrine is perfect eye candy!
All the supplies for the artwork is on sale: 25% off the Peppermint Tin SALE collection (which includes all of today’s new items) runs through WEDNESDAY night, July 15th! You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!
Sugar & Spice Peppermint Tin by Connie Littell
So sweet! Isn’t this a delightful (and colorful) little scene?! Here’s a bit from Connie’s blog post:
I chose to feature a sweet design of a little girl baking cookies from the Sweet Christmas Collage Sheet set inside an Altoid Tin. I always go back to refer to the fantastic tutorial Kristin Batsel did for decorating tins any time I need to make one. I encourage you to go take a peek! Before gluing the image in place, I roughed up the tin’s surface with sandpaper and blackened the interior corners with a Sharpie.
Once the tin was covered, it was embellished with a Double Layer Window Insert painted white. Topping that off is one of the new Snowflake Tin Toppers painted red & white and embellished with a few of the new 8mm Glass Peppermint Cabs.
The finished tin sits on a 3 Cubbies Block (and then the entire pyramid is sitting on a House Ornament Base). The decorations on the inside of the cubbies are from the Cookie Cutters Embellishments Set that I backed with silver glitter scrapbook paper.
Cute snowman assemblages were made by stacking and gluing a selection from new beads onto a round toothpick: 12mm Chunky Snowman Beads, 12mm Red and White Striped Beads and Red & White 16mm Snowflake Bead Mix.
Look at his little sweater! This top hat was made from the Mixed Size Black Flat Disc and a slice of dowel painted black. The other hat features a bead from the new Red & Green Baubles Bead Mix (also used on the tops of the trees). The combinations for making these adorable little fellas are endless!
Great job, Connie! Read more in Connie’s blog post and/or see her supply list (and more new Christmas trims in her artwork are noted below).

New Baubles!
Lots of Christmas-y colored trims and beads are new today. Just a portion are below… see them all here.
How about an Even Larger Snowflake Topper?
The new Narrow Shrine Shadowbox is the same height and depth as the Square Shrine Shadowbox but a narrower width (made to match the proportions of a Blank Altoids Tin… and for the width of the new Large Snowflake Topper).
Beside that cute topper, there’s a photo at left showing curtains from the Paper Theatre Cirque Collage Sheet. Here’s a link to a bunch of collage sheets with curtains tall enough to fit.

Tiki Beach Bars + ALL Can & Bottle Blanks on SALE
Filed under Beach Cabana Kit, Rhonda Secrist Thomas, Shadowbox/Room Box, Shannon Cooper, Summer/Beach
TWO summer bar projects — both using some back-in-stock palm trees, 1:12 glassware, and tiny foliage.
BONUS: I’ve also put ALL 1:12 scale Can & Bottle Blanks on sale! This group includes jars, bottles, canisters, unlabelled food containers, etc… over 50 items!
The supplies for both art projects AND the Can & Bottle Blanks are on SALE: 25% off the Tiki Beach Bars and Can & Bottle Blanks collections through WEDNESDAY night, June 24th! You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!

Tiki Beach Bar by Shannon Cooper
Shannon Cooper used the Half Scale Bay Window as the inspiration for this cute (!) tiki bar scene (that bay window is just 5″ tall).
Shannon converted the bay window into a little bar by cutting off the front two supports and replacing them with bamboo poles. The bar top is a piece of heavyweight card cut to extend past the window. Holes were made to accommodate the bamboo poles, and the edges got covered with trimmed reeds.
I do need to point out a few of my favorite things:
– The direction sign that includes “inebriety”
– Did I mention this whole scene is TINY? it’s built in a Corner Room Box (which means the entire depth is 4″)!
– Cute cocktails! (The drinks with lime slices at left are back-in-stock!) Also, the straw in the tumbler is masking tape rolled around a sewing needle. (Clever girl!)
– Lots of foliage!
– The big tiki heads (under the palm trees, to the left of the bar in that large photo above): see below in the Sale Recap for another photo with them lit up!) AND Shannon also shares how she made the tiki heads in her blog post!
See everything Shannon used to make her Tiny Tiki Bar in the Supply List (and a few of the back-in-stock supplies are shown directly below).
The Sea and The Sun Bar & Grill by Rhonda Secrist

How fun! Rhonda created this tiny bar scene from a cabana house shrine (and it is tiny: that shrine is just 5-1/2″ tall)!
Everything in her little patio is sitting on the top step of a Small Stairstep Shrine Base (with a back-in-stock Under The Sea Chipboard Border running around the edge — painted a nice bright coral). Attaching everything to that shrine base a great way of containing (and transporting) the project. Even the Palm Trees are attached to the back of the base so they can come along, too.
Check out Rhonda’s Supply List and/or see the original post for more beautiful photos!

Last Gasp Bathing Machines – Snake Oil Caravan or Beach?
Filed under Rhonda Secrist Thomas, Shannon Cooper, Summer/Beach, Tiny Suitcase Kit
A sweet chipboard recreation of a Bathing Machine. (A rolling cart popular in the 18th and 19th centuries: to allow people to change out of their usual clothes into swimwear and then wade into the ocean at beaches (without being seen by the opposite sex). Bathing machines were roofed and walled wooden carts rolled into the sea. Some had solid wooden walls; others had canvas walls over a wooden frame.) Back for a limited time then gone forever.
Below are a couple samples to show the range of possible projects using a Bathing Machine, from the talented Design Team.
The supplies for both art projects are on sale: 25% off the Snake Oil Caravan SALE collection (which also includes beachy supplies) through WEDNESDAY night, June 17th! You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!
Snake Oil Caravan by Shannon Cooper
Wow! Shannon did an amazing job turning the Bathing Machine into a traveling medicine show wagon (and filling that tiny suitcase with snake oil). I’ll let her explain:
“The wagon is actually a repro of a vintage bathing machine, but I think it worked out well for a traveling snake oil salesman and his wares. It’s covered entirely with just two papers: the Good For What Ails You Collage Sheet and some wood patterned scrapbook paper. Having the digital download of that collage sheet enabled me to crop and copy the parts needed, like the red stripes on the sides with the door.
“The suitcase is a mere 2″ x 1.5″ but holds a whole slew of items. I managed to squash in 14 bottles of various tonics, restoratives, strengtheners, liveners, and an ointment! Tucked behind the snake oils in the lid are adverts and such from various collage sheets.”
Shannon also provides a tutorial on how to add an invisible pins placed in the top and bottom of the door (see the tiny preview pic at right)!
Great job, Shannon! A few supplies are shown below (and a nice big close-up of those bottles in the suitcase); see everything Shannon used to make her Snake Oil Caravan in the Supply List (and they’re all included in today’s sale)! See tutorial pics and more details on Shannon’s blog post. Plus pics of more supplies including some BONUS items I added to the sale are below in the Recap section.
The Bathing Machine by Rhonda Secrist

Here’s a more traditional (at least beach-themed) project by Rhonda. I love the nostalgic feel to the colors and woodgrain patterns that Rhonda used (and all the historic photos and info about bathing machines sprinkled throughout her blog post!)
“In Georgian and Victorian times (roughly 1714 to 1901), entire fleets of bathing machines were designed to prevent anyone from seeing a woman in her swimsuit before she slipped into the waves. They resembled wooden changing booths, with wheels and wooden steps that led inside.”
Check out Rhonda’s Supply List and be sure to visit her blog post for more beautiful photos!
Recap & BONUS: Snake Oil Caravan SALE

In addition to the supplies from BOTH artworks, I added some BONUS items to the sale:
The first group of additions are items in the sold-out kit that was announced when Shannon’s artwork was announced (the rest of the kit items that are still in stock and that aren’t already in Shannon’s supplies):
– Just What the Doctor Ordered Collage Sheet
– Snake Oil Labels Collage Sheet
Next: these items that would make good substitutes for items Shannon used (subbing for items no longer available or for chipboard miniatures that Shannon made by hand):
– Tiny Chipboard Crates – Set of 2 AND Empty Orange Crate with Divider (about the right size for the fruit crate under the suitcase)
– Mini Sandwich Board Set
– Mini Bronze Box L Corners
– Small Bronze Rectangular Hinges (how she connected the top of her hand-made sandwich board)
There’s a new AUTOMATIC DISCOUNT for an extra 25% off the listed prices: you’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!
Note that the 25% off discount on clearance items means that they are over 50% off original prices!

Mermaid Shrines! New Chipboard & Resin Sea Creatures + on Sale!
Filed under Lora Mahaffey, Mermaid Paper Doll Kit, Shrines, Teri Calia
Lots of new or back in stock mermaids (and coral and fish scales and seahorses, (real) seashells and some resin ones, too) — and two fab mermaid shrines!
Plus there a mermaid-themed FREE gift with orders (more info below).
The supplies for both art projects are all on sale: 25% off the Mermaid Shrine SALE collection (which includes all of today’s new items) through WEDNESDAY night, June 10th! You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!
Dia de los Muertos Cat Mermaid Shrine by Teri Calia

Teri made a crazy, colorful Dia de los Muertos Cat Mermaid Shrine! And a collage sheet with parts to make an articulated cat mermaid paper doll of your own!
Her shrine is sitting on a back-in-stock Stairstep Shrine Base: A base (with built-in feet) designed to use with the Arched Shrine Shadowbox, but is just a cool platform by itself! As you can see, it has lots of room for adding a little scene in front of the shrine.
A dia de los muertos (day of the dead) cat mermaid shrine?? Well, why the heck not? I love cats, day of the dead shrines and mermaids are really apropos right now. So, I created a collage sheet with mermaid parts to fit the awesome Articulated Mermaid Paper Doll so you can make this…
Isn’t she cute?? I love her, she has so much attitude! Anyway, you could just make a mermaid (or two) with the new collage sheet and be done with the whole thing… or you could make a whole day of the dead shrine to house her in!
Read more in Teri’s blog post. Use my supply list link as her post was before we moved the site.
Note that all 6 goodies below are new or back in stock (and are all in Teri’s supplies — and on sale).
The Captured Mermaid by Lora Mahaffey
Wow! A totally different look but the shrine, base, coral AND chipboard seahorses are the same items from Teri’s shrine above. Note that the mermaid paper doll is a smaller version (originally only in a kit).

She was found tangled in a fisherman’s net, her arm badly broken. That day there happened to be a journalist at the harbor photographing the boats when the fisherman came in with his odd catch. Before anyone could say ‘Fish and Chips’ she was whisked away to London, her arm repaired with the most advanced technology of the Victorian era, placed in a large, specially made tank and hauled to the British Museum where she was the talk of the nation as folks came in droves to see her.

Filed under Bella Ayers, Collage Sheets, Kristin Batsel, Paper Dolls/Theatres, Pierrot/Harlequin/Carnival, Teri Calia
Aw… so cute! The Small Diorama Box is a chipboard replica of a butterfly box with glass lid we used to carry (this new one is approx. 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ x 3/4″ deep).
Shown below with some tiny wheels (also on sale!) and images from the new Small Diorama Box Facades Collage Sheet. There are also 3 NEW chipboard facades designed for this box.

Below are 3 of today’s new items. Note: Even more collage sheets with images sized for the new box are also in today’s sale collection.
Art Inspiration
Starting with the The Queen’s Theatre by Teri Calia. Note this was made with the original glass-front box so it’s the same size shadowbox as the new Small Diorama Box. Teri used the top of the proscenium from the Small Theatre Curtains Pink Collage Sheet (with a red paper rose). The 3D scene in the center of her stage is from the Portrait Small Theater Guignol Collage Sheet. That fun “queen” with the harlequin on her shoulder is from the Large Theatre Harlequin Collage Sheet.
All of Teri’s supplies for this project are also in today’s sale.
![]() |
Next is this Mini Guignol Theater by Kimberly Ayers (another example using the diorama in portrait orientation). The entire front is from the same Portrait Small Theater Guignol Collage Sheet that Teri used parts of, with curtains from the Portrait Small Theater Francais Collage Sheet.
Most all of Kim’s supplies are already in today’s sale but I did add the Gold Half-Round Dresden Borders.
![]() |
Then is this always-popular Tiny Paper Theater (using the Half Scale Punch & Judy Theatre) by Kristin Batsel. That half-scale chipboard theatre is just 4″ tall! I love all the details like the wooden finials and the gold metallic sticker trim (and her characters on little stands so they can be moved around).
All of Kristin’s supplies for this project are also in today’s sale (and note a larger version of that Guignol facade is on the new Small Diorama Box Facades Collage Sheet).
![]() |
Finally, the Zebra Circus Wagon using a slightly-larger Square Shrine Shadowbox is also by Kristin (she cleverly turned the shadowbox upside down so the header is a base for the wheels)! Note that the 2″ size wheels Kristin used are back in stock. Also, if you’d like to recreate a similar scene in the smaller Small Diorama Box, the CIRQUE facade image is also on the Small Theatre Curtains Pink Collage Sheet.
All of Kristin’s supplies for this snazzy zebra wagon are also in today’s sale.
