New plant stands & fancy trims; Flower Shop & planters; 25% off SALE!

Filed under Laura Carson, Miniatures, New Furniture, Streets of Paris

Two new plant stands! These are based on a fancier version (in 1:12 scale) that we used to carry (these new designs are much less expensive). Laura Carson used the fancy version in her Victorian Conservatory (see the close-up at left).

The 1 Inch Tall Wooden Flower Pots (the larger pots in that sample) are back in stock (and shown along with the Set of Miscellaneous Flower Pots and Tiny Wooden Flower Pots in the photo at right).

Both sizes of the plant stands are an oval shape (wider than they are deep), which gives extra room for potted plants on the sides, but still shallow enough for a room box. The 1:12 version of the 3-Tier Plant Stand is 5″ tall x 4″ wide (but only 2″ deep).

Eek! How cute is that half-scale version! See the photo below with a bunch of tiny planters and a watering can (in the new sale, too)!

New Tudor Rose Trims

Inspired by another project by Laura with a garden scene…

Laura Carson’s L’Amour des Fleurs is so beautiful! There’s an outside vs inside comparison at right. The flower shop is in the center of the bottom floor of Laura’s Streets of Paris shops (the chocolate shop can’t be seen in the photos, but it’s just to the right of the flower shop). The Chocolate Shop post was fifth in a series about the shops… you might want to start at the beginning.

Laura used the (back-in-stock) Mini Tudor Rose Singles above the doorway (far right, showing the inside of the shop — above the Folding Screen Fretwork Insert as a wrought iron door). I kinda ran with that Tudor Rose motif and designed a new border and a new altoids tin insert (shown below). Plus that insert would work well as a stencil (and there are some tips about making it into a stencil on the insert page).

You can read more about the L’Amour des Fleurs project and see more photos on the original post and on Laura’s site. (Note: as Laura covered making the buildings for this project in an earlier post, those items are in a separate blog post.) Plus here’s Laura’s supply list for “just” the flower shop (also included in today’s sale — more info below)!

More New Gardening Supplies

Ooh… another tin insert (lattice, at left) — good as a garden trellis, too.

Beside the close-up at right, there’s another photo of Laura’s artwork below (down in the sale section): the back-in-stock Glass Microscope Slides make perfect little shelves (with bent Symmetrical Bronze Flourishes as brackets).

More about the photo at right: the cash register was painted black, and is sitting on a plant table (also painted).

And the new vase and watering can… perfect for this miniature project (there’s even a white vase inside Laura’s shop… above the cash register though outside the crop in this photo).

Moroccan-themed art, new related tin inserts & 25% off SALE!

Filed under Altered Tins, Bella Ayers, Moroccan Doorways Kit

I was inspired by the artwork and the related back-in-stock supplies… so there are THREE new tin inserts with a similar theme! Read on for more info…

I love all the color and textures in Kimberly Ayers’ Moroccan Nights project! That photo at right shows the inside when the piece is open (and note the depth from the niche on the right side, behind the Moonshine Frame). There’s also a niche behind the scene on the front cover!

Per the work-in-progress photos below, you can see how she hinged the main house pieces. For the front cover she built her own frame using one of the back-in-stock Onion Dome Frame Toppers on top. (See how the niches are offset in the side-view photo? The niche on the front cover is lower than the niche on the inside.)

Note: the first row of supply photos below show all 3 back-in-stock supplies in the artwork (including those Onion Dome Frame Toppers).

You can read more about the project and see more photos on her blog post. Plus here’s Kimberly’s supply list (also included in today’s sale — more info below)!

More Back-In-Stock Supplies

Not exactly Moroccan themed, but some popular items are back!

How sweet those pears are in the festive garland at right!

The Mini Silverware – Set of 12 shown at left is taller and fancier than the silverware in the Miniature Silverware – Set of 20. The knife is approx. 1″ tall. (A bit large for 1:12 scale… unless that’s a knife for cutting a cake?)

Moroccan Panels SALE

Over 20 items are on sale, including:
all the new & back-in-stock items, and
– all the supplies from Kimberly’s Moroccan Nights artwork!

Bonus: I’ve added 4 more items to the sale! At right and the first row below (that orange ribbon is a close match to the seam binding tied around the artwork… plus, Halloween is coming).

There’s a new AUTOMATIC DISCOUNT for an extra 25% off the listed prices! You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!

The sale ends WEDNESDAY NIGHT, June 18th at midnight PST.

New Artwork with Chocolates, Caviar & Champagne & 25% off SALE!

I love this petite scene! So many yummy items on the top of a patio table.

Here’s a bit of the text from Connie Littell’s blog post to get us started:

This project all started with the new Tiny Black Caviar microbeads. I love caviar and they look exactly like delicious sturgeon eggs to me. Once I made that connection, the project fell right into place. Caviar is a special treat that I associate with a special occasion, the perfect date night.

I started with making all the accompaniments in miniature. To make little white scalloped ceramic dishes to hold the traditional condiments I used the new 10mm Silver Fluted Bead Caps and gave them a few coats of white nail polish. (Clever!)

Read more (and see tons more photos) on Connie’s blog post (including making those tiny chocolates and how she put together that scalloped candy box)! Here’s her supply list (all in today’s sale, too)!

More New Supplies

Maybe you’d like to make a mini scene with a different color metal tray?

Or a heart-shaped candy box (2 options)!

And 2 colors of 10mm bead caps are back (simpler design than the fluted ones above) — remember the brass ones Laura used on that chandelier at right?

Date Night SALE

Aw… there’s another photo from Connie, with some of the crackers & lemon slices.

Over 20 items are on sale, including:
all the new & back-in-stock items, and
– all the supplies from Connie’s Date Night artwork!

There’s a new AUTOMATIC DISCOUNT for an extra 25% off the listed prices! You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!

The sale ends WEDNESDAY NIGHT, June 11th at midnight PST.

New Ouija Board & Pumpkin Tureen, Tunnel Book Art & 25% off SALE!

Filed under Edgar Allan Poe, Halloween, Kristin Batsel, Miniatures, Susan Killam

In honor the the new (tiny!) 2×2 Arch Tunnel Book I’ve brought back the 6×6 size (at right).

Design Team examples are below (of making a classic tunnel book and of binding the pages as a shaped book). Plus some adorable new 1:12 scale props with a Halloween theme!

Edgar Allan Poe Tunnel Shadow Box
by Susan Killam

I sooo love this little Poe shadowbox! Susan used small stacks of chipboard to provide depth between the layers of the 4×4 Arch Tunnel Book (there’s step-by-step photos on her blog post… and see the wider photo below for a work-in-progress that shows the depth).

Some text from Susan’s blog post:

My 4×4 Arch Tunnel Book is a little dark with an Edgar Allan Poe theme. Hey, I’m a Baltimore girl and I can’t pass up a Poe project opportunity!

To begin, I chose the center element first. The photo below shows how I rigged it up so I could see the chipboard layers and plan the elements. (Note to self: put wee lights in the next tunnel book.)

There are so many great motifs throughout Poe’s writing. Here I’ve included a raven, heart, cask, skull, and, of course, Lenore, all from Alpha Stamps collage sheets. There’s also a pendulum, eyes, premature burial, and doubles. Oh… if only I’d used the 6×6 Arch Tunnel Book!

Hey, I’m ready to encourage Susan to make another tunnel book!

Read more and see more photos in Susan’s blog post; plus here’s her full supply list — all included in today’s sale!

New 2×2 Arch Tunnel Book

Eek! So cute! Like the larger versions of this book, this 2″ x 2″ size includes a solid back cover plus extra pages with arch window cut-outs in descending size.

3 pages with windows (plus the back) = 4 pages total.

Also shown in the photos above with 3 of 5 collage sheet options that fit the TINY size of this book (photos of all 5 are on the book page). I picked a range of themes from birds to Halloween and Christmas. I know you’d pick out more images and tiny trims for the top 3 pages.

Note I just used strips of corregated cardboard to give a bit of depth between each book page (both in photo at right and with the collage sheet images below).

AND I included all 5 of the collage sheet options in the sale!

Oh my… a bit early for the season (really? I see what you guys have been ordering!) but these just arrived and are so cute I had to show them now!

They’re also included in the sale (in case you’d like to order more)!

Halloween Tunnel Book by Kristin Batsel

Kristin made a traditionally-bound book using the 6×6 Arch Tunnel Book (and the Wrought Iron Window Grate, which was designed to fit in one of the book’s arches).

(Psst: Susan used the same window grate on the front of her 4×4 book above, just cropped off at the bottom.)

From Kristin’s blog post:

“When it’s closed (left side of wide photo below), you can see through all the layers to the back of the book. I added lots of fun Halloween things, from a jack o’lantern (with a curious rat) to an articulated skeleton (in front of an old window). There’s even a ferocious lion door knocker! Once I had it all assembled, it looked like it needed more color, so I added an orange bunting. It’s so easy to make: just glue little triangles to a piece of thread, and hang.”

Here’s Kristin’s supply list (yep… on sale, too… see below for more info).

New Oval Back Chair, Shutters x3, Half Scale Art & 25% off SALE!

Filed under Collage Sheets, Filigree, New Furniture, Shadowbox/Room Box, Shannon Cooper, Teri Calia

Aw… a tiny little Oval Back Chair in 1:24 Scale and matching collage sheet for faux upholstery! The baby size of the oval chair in Connie Littell’s The Beekeeper’s Workshop from a few weeks ago.

Plus there’s a new collage sheet with (more) images for the larger chairs. AND while I was playing around, a flurry of filigree options for adding some trim to the top of those 1:12 chairs (the filigree options are also on sale).

So in addition to all the new/back-in-stock items in today’s sale, I added the Oval Back Chair in 1:12 Scale, too!

New Shutters x3

See the cute altered tin at right? It’s the Shabby She Shed Tin by Shannon Cooper — it shows the same size shutters as the new chipboard Small Skinny Shutter Set.

Plus the half scale oval chair mentioned above would fit in this tiny altered tin. AND the Mini Oval Box or Tassel Caps at left are back in stock (on the top shelf in the artwork).

There’s a tiny snip of the (back-in-stock) Stitched Leaf Ribbon – Moss Green at the top of the facade (and I’ve these pink roses to Shannon supply list as those resin roses are sold out).

(Note there’s a new Tiny Tree with Pink Blossoms shown way below in the sale section; they’d be a perfect size to substitute for those tiny pink roses bush that Shannon made.)

Read more in the original blog post. Here’s Shannon’s supply list (all in today’s sale).

A Brocante Summer Cottage
by Teri Calia

A delightful little project for summer, built in 1/2″ scale (1:24). I am fond of this scale, as a 6″ tall room is so much easier to display on my crowded shelves than a 10″ or 12″ tall room.

Brocante is the French version of a flea market and an awesome place to find loads of sweet and unique items to furnish a summer cottage. Like most people, I don’t own a summer cottage but I really wanted to decorate one with finds from the brocante, soooo… I created a 1:24 scale cottage using the (back-in-stock) Half Scale Room Box with Slanted Roof, a Half Scale Bay Window and a Cottage Base – 9x9x1.

Oh, that Half Scale Room Box with Slanted Roof! This little half-scale room box is related to the Half Scale Arch Front Room Box, but this one is much deeper, has no apron in front, and has a hidden “attic” (perfect for hiding wiring if you’re adding lighting).

You could sit a couple (or 3) side-by-side and have a little street of storefronts. Plus that overhang on the roof would be fun to attach some hanging plants or a banner from. 5″ wide, 6″ tall including the facade (and 5″ deep).

Again, the new Oval Back Chair in 1:24 Scale would fit perfectly in this half scale room box (and I’ve added the 1:24 Round Table to the sale so there’s a suitably sized table).

Here’s a link to the original blog post. Note: we moved sites since that post so use my link for Teri’s supplies… and don’t forget all of them are included in the sale!

A FREE Gift with All Orders

Tiny Cake Stand with Cupcake Gift Kit is FREE with all orders placed today through Wednesday (ends at midnight May 21, 2025)!

Inspired by the tiny cake stand in the bay window of Teri’s artwork (on the right side of the wide photo above). This little set includes one each of:
Pink Cupcake with Cherries
Tiny Cake Plate Filigree
8mm Patina Round Beads with Circle Pattern
Tiny Antique Bronze 3D Crowns

They’re also included in the sale (in case you’d like to order more)!

Half Scale Cottage SALE

Over 50 items are on sale, including:
all the new & back-in-stock items (more not yet highlighted are shown below),
– the gift kit items just mentioned
– those metal curved filigrees I mentioned that fit the top oval of the 1:12 chairs,
– the supplies from the Shabby She Shed Tin artwork, and
– the supplies from the A Brocante Summer Cottage artwork!

There’s a new AUTOMATIC DISCOUNT for an extra 25% off the listed prices! You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!

New Window Flower Boxes, Sweet Treats House Box & 25% off SALE!

Filed under Connie Littell, Gifts/Decorations, Miniatures, Nichola Battilana, Valentine's Day

Sweet Treats House Box by Connie Littell

Here’s a pretty way to present a gift of small treats that doubles as décor after the candy is gone. I started this project with a House Treat Box. They ship flat and are easy to fold, assemble and secure with a bit of tacky glue. Before folding the tabs I lightly scored the dotted score lines with a bone folder. This made bending the tabs super easy.

The new Arched Window with Flower Box has a clever design. It ships flat and forms its own window box when folded.

The windows were painted white and backed with a baby pink cardstock. I also painted a small clothespin and decorated it with slices of Polymer Clay Cane – Pink Hearts. The treat box has both a tuck in flap at the bottom for opening but can also be opened from the roof to set treats inside. The clothespin is to secure the roof closed if you choose to fill it from the top.

Here’s a link to Connie’s blog post for more photos and tips, and here’s her supply list. Don’t forget all of them are included in today’s sale!

More NEW Supplies

Ah.. 3 more new flower boxes! The Trellis Window with Flower Box can fit the same cut-out window as the arched window in Connie’s project. And both designs have larger, 1:12 scale versions (in heavier chipboard).

And those brass items are all back-in-stock and all have been sorely missed. (I love those teeny tiny hinges!) See all the new & back in stock items.

Simple Christmas Kraft Boxes by Nichola Battilana

How about early Christmas? Nichola used the same House Treat Box and windows set but with a completely different theme.

I’ve kept these little boxes simple. Some gold embossing powder, snippets from holiday collage sheets, a wee charm, a bit of raffia. While I totally understand the appeal of embellishing until things are dripping with colour and a thousand different elements, there’s a case for simplicity, too.

Here’s a link to Nichola’s original blog post and her supplies… and don’t forget all of them are included in the sale!

Sweet House Boxes SALE

Over 20 items are on sale, including:
all the new & back-in-stock items,

New Tin Inserts, Altered Tins, FREE Fairy Door & 25% off SALE!

Filed under Altered Tins, Bella Ayers, Fairy Garden, Shannon Cooper

Those TWO new Altoids Tin Inserts (and some back-in-stock leafy trims — in a new mossy green color) inspired me to revisit TWO altered tins.

Both tins use lots of foliage (and either Humpty Dumpty or some fairy ballerinas), which led to a second sale collection: Fairy Garden Foliage! Those Winter Branches at right are just one example of the items on sale. (More info and more highlights are farther below.)

Fairyland Tin by Kimberly Ayers!

Kim’s tin was designed to highlight a long ago Secret Garden Kit.

How can you have a secret garden without fairies roaming around in it? (A miniature secret garden, of course!)

There are 3 Altoids Inserts that were announced with the kit: One of them is included in the kit (the Ivy Corner Insert), but I also used the Gazebo and Gothic Tree & Fence Inserts with this project.

I also used lots of the Mini Green Leaves laser-cut leaf set (with ferns, ivy, and some swirly flourishes, which I added glittery Stickles to).

Note: that Gothic Tree & Fence Insert is on the front cover of the tin, so you’ll need to visit the original post to see that cover and more photos. Here’s the supply list (part of the Fairy Garden Tins Sale, too).

Humpty Dumpty’s Afternoon by Shannon Cooper

Is that not the cutest little Humpty Dumpty shrine you’ve ever seen!? I love this little piece! It’s perfect as a little hidden garden, with the hope of staying cool in the summer while reading.

Here’s a teaser from Shannon’s blog post:

The May Secret Garden Kit couldn’t have come at a better time. Starting a garden this spring was simply out of the question, so having the opportunity to make a teeny tiny one was a nice substitute. Another plus: no pollen.

I knew I wanted to use the Ivy Corner Insert and Mini Green Leaves from the kit, and after gathering a handful of other greenery (including the back-in-stock Laser-Cut Miniature Ivy), it reminded me of vines that grow over walls and up the sides of houses. So, I built a tiny brick wall for the inside of the blank tin which happened to be the perfect spot for Humpty Dumpty.

Aside: Shannon also provides a tutorial on her post!

Although Shannon made the tissue paper roses herself (!), I’ve added some pre-made paper flowers (and more greenery) to the sale collection.

Shannon gives tips on building Humpty’s wall (and lots more photos) on her blog post. Plus here’s Shannon’s supply list (part of today’s sale, too).

More NEW or Back-in-Stock Supplies

Ooh! The two new tin inserts would be fun to mix-n-match with the 3 inserts in the 2 projects above.

The new mossy green color for the 2 back-in-stock leaf sets makes them perfect for all seasons (and you can also use colored pencils to add veins or shadow/highlight (like Shannon did above).

See all the new & back in stock items.

FREE Gift with All Orders

A Fairy Charm Mini Gift Kit is FREE with all orders placed today through Wednesday (ends at midnight May 7, 2025)!

You’ll receive ONE of the back-in-stock Chipboard Fairy Door Charms (normally sold in sets of 2) AND a custom mini collage sheet (shown at left) with tiny fairies that could be used inside! Note: the images are 1″ x 1″ size, so could also work with 25mm diameter cabs or settings, too.

The Fairy Door Charms are also included in the sale (in case you’d like to order more)!

Fairy Garden Tins SALE

Oops… forgot one more thing: the Grass & Mushroom Border at right is also back in stock (and in the sale)!

all the new & back-in-stock items,

NEW Spring Tea Artwork, Garden Creatures & 25% off SALE!

Filed under Flowers, Rhonda Secrist Thomas

What a pretty group of decorated vintage china, perfect for a centerpiece at a Mother’s Day feast!

Here’s a bit of the text from Rhonda Secrist’s blog post to get us started:

I have come to a point in life where I have so many things that I’ve inherited, that I keep lovingly protected in a cabinet. What if something were to happen and I accidently broke it? I got to thinking, why? Some of these items I’ve been told stories about, like my mom’s mother and grandmother, and my father’s mother and grandmother’s china. It finally occurred to me, why not use these items as a base for some artwork? I think it was a brilliant idea and hopefully I will inspire you to do the same.

I began by stuffing a bit of wadded paper into each cup and the pot. Then I used a variety of greenery including Light Green Turf Gound Cover, Mini Spring Leaves, Course Turf – Olive Green, and the most useful for full coverage was the Variegated Green Vines.

Read more (and see tons more photos) on Rhonda’s blog post. Here’s her supply list (all in today’s sale, too)! Now on to my close-ups of a few creatures…

Starting with that collage sheet at right AND that squirrel on the right side of the photo below. I love the little creatures Rhonda fussy-cut from collage sheets and nestled into the greenery.

Moving to the center image (the teapot lid): There’s a sweet owl perched on top, plus 2cm pink roses and 2 sizes of purple roses: tiny dark plum plus 1 bloom from a larger set — also on the top of the teapot (another photo below).

Finally to the left image: a playful squirrel with some larger violet blooms (and a nest… more info below about those ingenious eggs).

Wow! That close-up of the bunny scene inside the teapot is so colorful and cute! Starting with the new Large White Rabbit (also at right) and the new Mixed Pink Roses (nice to have some larger roses to mix in with the smaller ones).

At the feet of the larger rabbit are 3 tiny rabbits, on a bed of violet mini blossoms. And behind the rabbits is an absolute riot of pink and purple roses!

Beautiful work, Rhonda!

Soft Pink 2cm Roses

Tiny Bird Nest
Note: Rhonda used berries from the Fancy Pink Berries Mix as eggs (with some extra speckles added via markers).

Set of 3 Mini Tan Bunny Rabbits

Extras added to the sale!

I was inspired by Rhonda’s artwork and thought about all the cute collage sheets with creatures, small 3D garden creatures, and other fairy-garden themed items that would be perfect in a flower tea project. So I added over 20 items to the sale collection!

Note: the turtles at right are new, and the first row of flowers/hedgehogs below are either new or back in stock.

Psst… beside the TEN shown here, there are some more highlights of the extras (that are also on clearance!) below in the sale section.

Spring Tea SALE

Aw… there’s another sweet photo from Rhonda!

Over 60 items are on sale, including:
all the new & back-in-stock items,
Over 20 items I added with a similar fairy garden theme, and
– all the supplies from Rhonda’s Spring Tea artwork!

There’s a new AUTOMATIC DISCOUNT for an extra 25% off the listed prices! You’ll see the discount in your cart — no code required!

Note: the highlights below are a mix of items from Rhonda’s supplies and some of the extras I added to the sale — ALL are on clearance! The sale discount takes 25% off of clearance price, too.
