New Gold Dresden Trims + ALL Dresden on Sale!
Filed under Dresden, Nichola Battilana, Rhonda Secrist Thomas, Shannon Cooper, Winter Crowns Kit
What a treat! All the Dresden trims reminded me of fab crowns the Design Team made from the old Winter Crowns kit. So I’m revisiting 3 of those projects (and all the supplies are in today’s sale).

Before I explain that lovely crown by Shannon Cooper at left, I’ve uploaded the pdf file of the kit crown template (just click on the thumbnail at right to download it). The template is for crowns about 3″ diameter (when finished). Though check Nichola’s crown below for leaving them flat as “bobby pin crowns”.
Back to that beauty at left: I love this Gilded Crown! It’s so shiny and fancy yet sophisticated. And that paper cone medallion round the star on the center front is a great addition for dimension (and Shannon has a included a tutorial on how to make that medallion).

BONUS: I’ve also put ALL Dresden Trims on sale! Embossed borders and shapes from Valentines to Halloween to Christmas themes: 60 more items!

WOW! Look at how beautiful those crowns are by Nichola Battilana! She is calling them Bobby Pin Paper Crowns but that name belies how rich they look.
I didn’t make my crowns in the round. I just used the kit template as it was. I figured this would be practical for two reasons: 1) shipping. MUCH easier to ship a flat crown than a round crown. 2) I have friends who claim to have massively large and unusually small heads. I figured leaving the edges free, those friends who have hair could simply keep them in place with bobby pins.
Such a great idea! One of the crowns is modelled by Nichola at right… more info in her blog post (but use my supply list link).
What a gorgeous crown by Rhonda Secrist! She used an image from the Portraiture Collage Sheet…that oval portrait includes printed rhinestones and pearls around the edge, then Rhonda went back and glued tiny half-round pearls over all the pearls on the printed image. (Clever!) All of Rhonda’s supplies are also in today’s sale.
