Dia de los Muertos Cat Mermaid Shrine by Teri Calia
Teri made a crazy, colorful Dia de los Muertos Cat Mermaid Shrine! And a collage sheet with parts to make an articulated cat mermaid paper doll of your own!
Her shrine is sitting on a back-in-stock Stairstep Shrine Base: A base (with built-in feet) designed to use with the Arched Shrine Shadowbox, but is just a cool platform by itself! As you can see, it has lots of room for adding a little scene in front of the shrine.
A dia de los muertos (day of the dead) cat mermaid shrine?? Well, why the heck not? I love cats, day of the dead shrines and mermaids are really apropos right now. So, I created a collage sheet with mermaid parts to fit the awesome Articulated Mermaid Paper Doll so you can make this…
Isn’t she cute?? I love her, she has so much attitude! Anyway, you could just make a mermaid (or two) with the new collage sheet and be done with the whole thing… or you could make a whole day of the dead shrine to house her in!

The Captured Mermaid by Lora Mahaffey
Wow! A totally different look but the shrine, base, coral AND chipboard seahorses are the same items from Teri’s shrine above. Note that the mermaid paper doll is a smaller version (originally only in a kit).

She was found tangled in a fisherman’s net, her arm badly broken. That day there happened to be a journalist at the harbor photographing the boats when the fisherman came in with his odd catch. Before anyone could say ‘Fish and Chips’ she was whisked away to London, her arm repaired with the most advanced technology of the Victorian era, placed in a large, specially made tank and hauled to the British Museum where she was the talk of the nation as folks came in droves to see her.

Art Inspiration
Starting with the The Queen’s Theatre by Teri Calia. Note this was made with the original glass-front box so it’s the same size shadowbox as the new Small Diorama Box. Teri used the top of the proscenium from the Small Theatre Curtains Pink Collage Sheet (with a red paper rose). The 3D scene in the center of her stage is from the Portrait Small Theater Guignol Collage Sheet. That fun “queen” with the harlequin on her shoulder is from the Large Theatre Harlequin Collage Sheet.

Next is this Mini Guignol Theater by Kimberly Ayers (another example using the diorama in portrait orientation). The entire front is from the same Portrait Small Theater Guignol Collage Sheet that Teri used parts of, with curtains from the Portrait Small Theater Francais Collage Sheet.
Most all of Kim’s supplies are already in today’s sale but I did add the Gold Half-Round Dresden Borders.

Then is this always-popular Tiny Paper Theater (using the Half Scale Punch & Judy Theatre) by Kristin Batsel. That half-scale chipboard theatre is just 4″ tall! I love all the details like the wooden finials and the gold metallic sticker trim (and her characters on little stands so they can be moved around).

Finally, the Zebra Circus Wagon using a slightly-larger Square Shrine Shadowbox is also by Kristin (she cleverly turned the shadowbox upside down so the header is a base for the wheels)! Note that the 2″ size wheels Kristin used are back in stock. Patio Furniture & Picnic Baskets

Such cute patio furniture (and in both 1:12 and 1:24 scales)! We’re having an early heat wave and it seems the time for hiding inside with the AC and dreaming up a cool miniature patio project.
First for this new sale: I started with the Patio Chair made to fit the Wrought Iron Patio Table (at right, under some of the tiny half scale items). Then the chair and bench in half scale size… and winding my way back to a (simpler) patio table for the tiny chair!
Bonus: I added the Oval Back Chair (in both scales) and the coordinating collage sheets with faux upholstery. And even the Honey & Bees Collage Sheet as it includes 2 designs for bee-themed upholstery.

All Things Lemon by Shannon Cooper
Beside being part of a beautiful little miniature scene: the back-in-stock Market Stall Niche Add-On is only 3-1/2″ tall! It was made to be attached to the front of the Cabana House Niche Shrine to create a mini market stall. I swear Shannon must have tiny elves that help her with these super-mini projects.
Here’s some of the text from Shannon’s original post:
Oh, August. I’m going to be honest with you. You’re miserable. And hot. And buggy. And these daily afternoon downpours only make it worse. Doing anything outside (or even opening the door) is right out. So I thumb my nose at you, August! My curtains are closed, the lights are off, and my new Niche Shrine from Alpha Stamps arrived, so I don’t even have to think about you.
This unbearable weather has me a little irritable, but luckily, creating a cute little market stall distracted me long enough to change my attitude.
What better way to cool off than with a nice, tall glass of lemonade! Maybe have a lemon tart or two?
I love, love all of the niche shrines. They are quick and super fun to make. Each new one instantly turns into my favorite, but this little Cabana House Niche Shrine with the Market Stall Niche Add-On? Be still my heart! And it is super tiny; an amazing 5 1/2″ tall and 3″ wide! The House Ornament Base that the market stall sits on is 4-1/2″ square and couldn’t have worked out more perfectly for the extra minis I added around the stall.
I love this project, Shannon! Everything looks so realistic (and yummy) even though it’s so teeny tiny!

New Fences
Hey, see those cute sandwich boards that Shannon made from pieces of a chipboard fence (big photo immediately above)? There’s a new fence that’s perfect for the same treatment (also at right). It also fits behind the lemonade stand (see the first art photo above) with part of the fence glued to the chipboard platform.
AND that new fence/gate at left! The 6 Inch Gothic Gate can also be cropped to fit the same platform. Note that the center gate is only connected by 2 tabs, in case you want to cut it apart.

The Doll Maker’s Room by Shannon Cooper
I sooo love Shannon’s tiny, filled-to-the-brim sewing scene! Here’s a bit from her blog post:
Sometimes the smallest of things spark the greatest happiness. Whether it comes in the smile of a newborn baby, a kitty jumping in your lap for a snuggle, or an espresso macaron, finding joy in your everyday life is essential. Lots of times it is just there waiting for you to see it.
Joy presented itself to me via Alpha Stamps in the form of a 1:12 scale Vintage Sewing Table, which is nearly as nice as a warm kitty in your lap. The Vintage Sewing Table led to a 4 x 4 inch square room box to put the table, followed by a shelf… well, when it was all said and done, I had the makings of a little sewing room and I couldn’t have been happier.
I tweaked the idea of a sewing room into a little doll maker’s space early on, mostly after assembling the Tiny Spice Rack into a ribbon holder. Don’t ask how that translated into “doll maker’s studio” because I couldn’t tell you. It just sort of happened.
The 1:12 Wall-Mount Mail Holders Set (swoon!) were turned into bitty bins for fabric, patterns, button cards, and even a silly rabbit. I really love those holders! After assembling them, I slathered modeling paste over the surface with my finger, left them to dry, then painted the holders with white acrylic paint. They were sanded a bit, given a blotchy floral paint job, and finally aged with a smidgeon of watered down brown acrylic paint. They are pretty cute in a very rustic sort of way. It works here, I guess. I mimicked the paint job on the spice rack for cohesion.
Aside: see those cute cherries used as curtain tie-backs? They’re also part of the FREE Gift kit below!

Sit a Spell Mini Room Box by Shannon Cooper!
Woohoo! Bring on the Halloween “orange, green, purple and black”! Shannon built a fun little Halloween scene in a 7×7 Corner Room Box that is packed with tiny little props, all perfectly painted or labelled to coordinate with the theme.
With lots of furniture in a small space, Shannon made good use of the Shallow 3D Fireplace.
I fit a 1:12 Corner Cabinet, Shallow 3D Fireplace, a Tall 4-Panel Art Nouveau Screen, and a Chaise Lounge Kit that I made many moons ago in a 7×7 Corner Room Box.
I started by painting all of the furniture and the edges of the room box black, then assembled the pieces before adding scrapbook paper. The Shallow 3D Fireplace is super easy because all of the detail work is already done on the Victorian Fireplace Collage Sheet. Just cut out the parts and glue in place. The mantel is a rectangle of basswood painted black. Easy peasy. The tutorial for assembling and upholstering the chaise lounge can be found here.

The Beekeeper’s Workshop by Connie Littell
Connie’s The Beekeeper’s Workshop project is such a delight. The structure is a 7×9 Corner Room Box so you can get a sense of the sizes (and ’cause it’s part of the sale)!
Here’s a bit of the text from Connie’s blog post to get us started:
I adore bees, they are some of nature’s most indispensable creatures. At one time, my husband and I had the privilege of being beekeepers and got to observe their social interactions up close. We fed them through the winter and they provided us with delicious honey in the summer. I sold our honey products at the local farmer’s market every Friday morning. We carried homemade soap, beeswax candles and assorted containers of sourwood honey from our homestead. Our kitchen was the setting for all the sticky messy bee-related activities. Years of daydreaming about having a separate space just for that purpose was the inspiration for this miniature workshop.
Connie provides lots of tips on putting the scene together and how she made tiny honey jars and bee decor.

Filling Easter Baskets Room Box (also by Connie)
This is such a sweet (and happily colorful) project for spring. And a good example of the 7×7 Corner Room Box. The supplies from this Filling Easter Baskets Room Box project are also on sale!
A bit from Connie’s intro:
I used a Small Trinket Shelf Stand to display the finished baskets. It comes with a drawer that fits at the bottom. I chose to leave it out in order to give myself more room to display everything. Before assembling it, I used the rear wall as a template for the paper on the top shelf.
I added two of the 1:12 Shelves on the right wall of the 7×7 Corner Room Box, and framed a few sweet bunny prints using the Mini Frames Set and images cut from the Peter Rabbit and Bigger Bunnies collage sheets.
