It’s time to build a haunted house!

Filed under Art Projects, Halloween, Haunted House Kit, Kristin Batsel, Nichola Battilana, Shannon Cooper

I’m just thinking that it’s drawing near to that time of year… if you’re going to make a Halloween project that will take some planning or extra time to execute…

So today I’m picked out THREE Haunted House projects from the talanted ladies on the Design Team: each using a different structure as the base. AND I’ve put the supplies for ALL three of them in a new collection and created a discount code for 20% off those suppiles! PLUS I added in ALL Single Sheets of Halloween Scrapbook Paper! More info on the sale is below (and remember that all of the supplies mentioned ‘tween here and there are included in the sale)!

Ghoul Manor by Shannon Cooper

Let’s start with this wonderfully creative haunted house by Shannon! See the lower right of the group of photos below: She just added a few strips of heavy cardstock (and some scalloped shingles) to create extra roof and dormer spaces on the Small Haunted House Shadowbox.

“One of my favorite books as a kid was It’s Halloween by Jack Prelutsky. It is a collection of short Halloween poems that I read until it nearly fell apart. It went with me when I moved out and was eventually read countless times to all of my kids. The pages are yellowed and the cover is frightful, but we still pull it out every October to read at least eight times before Halloween. In the book there is a poem about a group of ghouls having a party in a haunted house. So, when I learned of the haunted house shadowbox from Alpha Stamps, I knew how it was to be decorated.”

More info is in Shannon’s blog post and/or see the supply list (and remember all those items are on sale — see the bottom of this post for more info).

Next up: A TWO Haunted Houses by Nichola Battilana!

Both houses are made with shapes from the Haunted House Black Chipboard Set. And both seem haunted by little imps whispering dark words. (It’s a bit hard to read at that size, but the house in the bottom left says: Then slowly, slowly in a queer scary voice, “What’s your trouble?”)

Nichola also added extra trims to look like windows and towers, but this time they’re images from the More Old Windows Collage Sheet (and/or you could use the images from the related Old Windows & Doors Set Download).

The Black Dresden along the building tops as a widow’s walk is inspired! And the tiny cobweb over the Chipboard Gates are perfect for this creepy set of houses.

More info is in the original blog post and/or see the supply list.

Finally: a Halloween Tunnel Book by Kristin Batsel! Kristin made a traditionally-bound book using the 6×6 Arch Tunnel Book (and the Wrought Iron Window Grate, which was designed to fit in one of the book’s arches).

From Kristin’s blog post:

“When it’s closed (left side of wide photo below), you can see through all the layers to the back of the book. I added lots of fun Halloween things, from a jack o’lantern, an articulated skeleton, a curious rat, and a skull and crossbones. There’s even a ferocious lion door knocker! Once I had it all assembled, it looked like it needed more color, so I added an orange bunting. It’s so easy to make: just glue little triangles to a piece of thread, and hang.”

Here’s Kristin’s supply list (yep… on sale, too… see below for info on the discount code).
