Moldy Morty’s Market – a return to Grimsley Village!

Filed under Collage Sheets, Digital Images, Giveaways, Grimsley Village, Halloween, Laura Carson, Shadowbox/Room Box, Tutorials

This is a long one… filled with tons of fun artwork by that wizard Design Team Member Laura Carson! So if I were you, I’d go grab a fresh cuppa before proceeding.

Note: This is a new entry in the long-running Grimsley Village… um, village. (A pic/link to the Ghostmore Manor from the village is at right.)

Also note: the supply list for this project is expansive, so I’ve also broken it down into sections:
Paper (including new collage sheets and a new digital image set)
Structure
Containers/Dishes
Embellishments
Food/Drink
Bottles/Jars

So on to the first photo: an overview of Moldy Morty’s Market (with a close-up of one of the bay windows that on the sides of the market). Luckly, I’m going to zoom in and show details in the photos below!

NEW Mini Halloween Market Labels Collage Sheet

With all of the many, many products (cans, bottles, etc) sold in a market, I thought it best to start with the labels. Note: there are 2 more new collage sheets today and they will be mentioned in more detail below.

Laura must have had a blast thinking up all these names (they include: Blood Coffee, Rancid Fruit Juice, Pickled Eyeballs, Severed Fingers, Sour Milk (shown on quart bottles painted green below), Harpy Nails, and many, many more).

The display layout on the left of the photo below is what’s inside one of the bay windows (with featured products from a new cookbook, screaming eggs and sour milk).

Psst: a preview of today’s new sale: with all of the bottles needed to fill a market, that White Resin Quart Bottle I just mentioned is on sale, as part of the Can & Bottle Blanks Sale!

Inside the Market

Yikes! Check out all that display space on the back wall of the market (below, with a close-up of the middle column showing a flour sack and the cans/boxes to the right of that column)! You might want to scroll up where you can see the same wall way in the back of the store (through the door and large window).

See that grid at right? Luckily Laura gives lots of tips in her blog post: that grid is showing the layout of Bagatelle Box – 1-1/2 x 4 Inches (six of them), Bagatelle Box – 1-1/2 x 3 Inches (three of them) and Storage Hutch (two of them — without the top scalloped piece) that perfectly fill the back wall of the Deep Storefront Room Box (she must have fiddled around with all the boxes for awhile to find this combo).

There are larger versions of some of the labels on the new Halloween Food & Drink Labels Collage Sheet (shown as posters/signage in the store).

NEW Moldy Morty’s Market Collage Sheet

I’ve gotta say: both Morty and his butcher are pretty disgusting. 🙂

Check out that butcher (who is a hog?) standing on a step ladder in the left side of the photo below. A bit hidden behind that brain (?!) is the new Mini Meat Grinder, plus he’s got a scale, cutting boards and other tools on his table. The right side of the photo shows more of his tools hanging under another display shelf.

Note that the images in all 3 new collages are included in the new Moldy Morty’s Market Digital Set. In addition, there are more signs, characters and other items that work well with the spooky market.

What else is new today?

Oh, things that would be perfect for a vintage general store (or retro office — like that pencil sharpener) and TWO more new things that Laura used!

And see that photo at right (that’s a preview from Laura’s tutorial video) — it’s showing a work-in-progress photo of the front of the Deep Storefront Room Box using the back-in-stock 12×12 Clear Plastic for Windows!

More of today’s new items are scattered throughout this newsletter, so you can click here to see them all at once.

NEW Sale: Can & Bottle Blanks

Wow! In addition to ALL the miniature Can & Bottle Blanks, I’ve added the 4 glass bottles that Laura used in her Moldy Morty’s Market! Plus Laura used tons of the resin minis in this sale, too!

25% off! Over 50 items! Plus see the pics at right and below for some choices in the sale from Laura’s supply list!

The sale ends TUESDAY NIGHT, June 8th at midnight PST. See the entire sale collection here!

Moldy Morty’s Market Giveaway!

Ooo, a Giveaway, too?! There was so much eye candy in Laura’s photos, I couldn’t resist showing off a couple more! Note: everything I’m highlighting below is included in the Giveaway! That includes my text description AND the 3 product photos below the eye candy!

Starting with that Small Hexagon Lantern shown at right (and over the door in the photo at left below — with a head inside)!

Next up: the Deep Storefront Room Box itself! That will give you the main structure including the door and big window. (And scroll down cuz I’m including that skull wallpaper, too!)

And for signage and tiny labels, these 2 new collage sheets:
