Hanging House Ornaments by Design Team Member Kristin Batsel

Aw… these are so cute! And a breeze to make (and will get you quickly in the gift-making mood) using the new Hanging House Ornament Set!

The Hanging House Ornament Set is two laser-cut chipboard pieces in two different weights. The house part (including a 1″ deep ledge at the bottom) is cut from heavier chipboard. The thinner chipboard piece includes 2 deer, a tree and a fence (you probably won’t have room for all those pieces but you’ll have options… plus see the new Holiday Ornament Figures Collage Sheet for more figures sized for this house — including that riduculously cute Santa in the ornament above right).

Here’s a bit of text about Kristin’s creations from her blog post:

Alpha Stamps has some new hanging house ornaments, and they can be decorated in so many different ways! Each set comes with a house and “yard”, plus a picket fence, two deer, and an evergreen tree. The pieces are nice and lightweight, even when decorated. Here’s what I did with two of the kits: a sparkly monotone house with a subtle palette, and a brighter, more vintage look with Santa. Each house is 5″ tall.

The sparkly house was covered with scrapbook paper, and the tree was painted with subtle shades of green. A base of Snow Tex was added to the bottom, and then everything was covered with Diamond Dust to make it extra sparkly. The sign was cut from a collage sheet, and mounted on matchsticks. It was glued to the base, along with the deer. I used some colored pencils on the deer, but he would also be cute just in silhouette.

I thought this house might be my favorite, but I think the jolly Santa in the second house changed my mind! Although he’s left gifts and candy under the tree, he’s checking his list twice to make sure no one was forgotten.

I love these ornaments, Kristin! They are both beautiful and each is so different than the other!

Note: Kristin includes some tips on using straight pins to help get space between the elements; I picked a photo at left to try to show the depth.

Go visit Kristin’s blog post for more info and photos! Here’s her supply list. And read on, as there are tons of Christmas treats still below, PLUS there’s another photo of the more colorful ornament down in the Giveaway section!

What’s New Today?

FREE Gift with Every Order!

It’s Day 2 of this sale and we have a new gift kit! We’ve made up lots of little gift kits for this weekend! There are a variety of styles, but they’re all supplies for making Christmas gifts (or decorating packages).

Per Kristin’s snowy/sparkly ornament, I’ve picked out this Mini Snowflakes Kit (shown at left) for today’s FREEBIE! It includes tons of snowflakes:
1 Inch Clear Acrylic Snowflake Mix (two random ones)
Mini Silver Snowflake Garland
Antique Silver Snowflake
– A pinch of the Large Snowflake Sequin Mix
– A Giant Bronze Snowflake

Plus a resin snowman and a snippet of Gold Mesh Rhinestone Ribbon for shine and color!

Note: all orders TODAY will automatically receive one of these Mini Snowflakes Kits. If we run out, there are lots more options (there are 7 kits so far). And different ones not yet shown, linked to each day’s artwork, will be featured tomorrow and Monday!

BONUS: If you spend $50 (also the threshold for free shipping in the US), then I’ll substitute the fab 3D Santa & Silver Charms Kit shown below (2 kits are shown in that wide photo). That kit includes the Jeweler’s Tin shown in the photo, too! Some items are custom to the gift kit, but here are those available to purchase separately. Note: you’ll just get one of the charms from the Round 12 Days of Christmas Number Charms Set (so not everyone will get the number “12” shown in the photo). If you spend over $50 and want the Mini Snowflakes Kit instead, just leave a note on your order.

There nothing special to add to your order! (No discount code to enter!) All orders TODAY will receive one of the free gifts! Note: If you guys go crazy, I may substitute an item if I need to make up more kits, but there are already bunches ready to go!
