Yay! New Tim Holtz Products! And cute artwork by Kristin Batsel!

Filed under Art Projects, Cute as a Button, Giveaways, Kits, Kristin Batsel, Newsletters, Tim Holtz

Note: most of the links on this post no longer work, as we moved to a new Web site in 2018. However, you can see the supply list items from Kristin’s project that are still available on the new site.

A couple quick announcements before Miz Bella (Kim Ayers) introduces an adorable project by Kristin Batsel.

First: a reminder that the ENTIRE Vintage Sewing & Cooking Collage Sheets Section AND the Household Charms Section (where you’ll find things like scissors) are both On Sale through Sunday night, February 15th!

Second: there’s a new FREE Gift Kit: Butterfly Garden, as we’re continuing our button mania (yes, that loverly butterfly in the photo is a button)! More info

Design Team Member Kristin Batsel has created some super sweet Kitty Photo Holders this month with the Cute as a Button Kit and Add-On Kit. Kristin said:

“To start the project, I painted each block, plus a 1-1/4 Inch Wooden Wheel, a different color, chosen to coordinate with the Sew Lovely 6×6 Paper Pad. I sanded all the edges, inked them a bit, and then covered each side with a different paper, cut a little smaller than the side of the block. One side of the blocks got kittens and a couple of buttons, while the reverse side got some adorable children. After I adhered the images, I lightly sanded each one to distress the surface.”

Speaking of buttons, how can you not love the 6mm Heart Buttons? Aren’t they just too cute? I have to admit though – the Big Eye Anime Cat Buttons just kill me with their wonky expressions! (And check below for some new flowers, include the xx… they’d work perfectly as a pink (?) daisy behind the cat… and a set is in today’s Giveaway, too!)

Like most of the homes of the crazy cat ladies who work at Alpha Stamps, the New and On Sale! Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice Collage Sheet that Kristin used on the 2 Inch Wooden Cube Blocks is full of cats (and adorable little girls).

If you don’t have any photos of your own weird relatives hidden away in the closet somewhere, you could always use an image or two from the Vintage Oddities Collage Sheet to put in the New and On Sale! Wire Card Holders. Display them with pride (and make up a wild story to go with the picture, I do it all the time!)

Before you cat on over to visit Kristin, check out her supply list. Kristin has more pictures and information about her project on her blog.

Hooray! A Sugar & Spice Giveaway!
