Circus Orphans & Fairy Godmothers, plus Sale & Free Gift

Ha! Kristin has made a whole different project from the same shadowbox lid that Nichola used last Thursday. And, in Kristin style, it involves the circus…
Nothing says “holiday season” like some morose orphans looking sadly out at the snow, amIrite? When I found that the next Alpha Stamps monthly kit contained a window shadowbox, for some reason, I immediately thought of circus kids. Leslie was kind enough to design a collage sheet full of vintage circus kid images for me. I chose a large image of four solemn looking waifs, gave them all bright red clown noses, and built “Orphanage Rd.” to house them.
I used two collage sheets so I could cut out the girls in front and stack them for more dimension. The upper trim is a Fleur Border, painted black and then coated with glaze.

Before I covered the outside of the box, I used a Sharpie to color the inside window panes black. The outside windows were colored with a silver Sharpie. The little girl and her dog were originally considered for this piece, but they just looked too happy.

A candy store front window would be fun to make
Would love to use this on a shadow box of my mini oddities shop
Would love to use the window on a modified ‘real’ cigar box to hold atc cards.
When I see the shape of the window I am reminded of an old fashioned toy store all decorated for Christmas. Or perhaps a bakery or book store. The possibilities are endless.
It would be perfect for an altered box. Love it.

It would make a cool closet for a witch to store her things.
Since we have had 2 snows (omg this is unheard of in Austin Texas!) this winter, i think i would make a magical night-time snow scene to immortalize it. Love it!

This reminds me of Miss Peregrin and her Peculiar Children. I love those books! I would make something along this line I believe. (Pssst you really need some Peculiar collage sheets… or do you have them and I have missed them?) this is a fun giveaway thanks for the chance to win
I think I would make a teddy bear shop with a twist! The teddy bears have been abandoned by their owners and are in pretty bad shape so they all need repairs and lots of love before they can go to their furever homes!

With all the great things on Kristin’s supply list my mind immediately went to a window from a Christmas shop, maybe with a tree and lots of tiny Christmas related goodies displayed…..toys, gifts, decorations.
