Snow White Kit
The new year just seems like a good time for a fairy tale. We had so much fun with the Little Red Riding Hood Kit a couple years ago that another Brothers’ Grimm story seemed like a good option…
The January kit is Snow White. (Actually, a lot of the new chipboard items being announced this month are more about The Evil Queen (and her mirror — “Mirror, mirror, on the wall…”) than Snow herself…)
I designed a new set of Fairy Tale Frames Altoid Inserts (a big set, each with 2 options for layered label holders). ONE of the frames (plus its 2 matching label holders) from the new set is in this kit. You can stack up both of the label holders or just use one over the insert (and maybe use the other on the outside of the Altoids Tin cover).
PLUS a Blank Altoids Tin to use with that chipboard insert!
This kit also includes TWO new collage sheets!
Poison Apple Collage Sheet
More than just the poisoned apple here: also images of the pretty laced bodice that the Evil Queen tried to kill Snow White with before almost succeeding with the apple (the illustrators may have had a bit of confusion over the years, as some images show ribbons or belts instead of a laced bodice… maybe they were trying to show fashions that were in favor at the time they illustrated the story).
Fairy Tale Titles Collage Sheet
Lots of options: Snow White, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood (most of those in German, too) and more generic phrases like “Fairy Tales”, “Enchantment” and “Once Upon a Time.” Plus some by request, specific to Snow White: “Poison Apple” and “Bitch, please!”
Speaking of text options for the labels: I love that altered tale that Kristin Batsel made (at right)! From Kristin’s blog:
Snow White had it hard: a wicked stepmother who was so totally consumed with being the fairest of them all that she was willing to do anything to make that happen, including poison apples. Who wants to deal with that?
Here’s an altered Altoids tin I decorated to celebrate Snow White refusing that bad apple. I used an old image (Snow White with blonde hair!) and a fairy tale insert frame to highlight the scene. Silver tinsel, silver glitter, snowflake sequins and Diamond Dust help to make this look like a frosty scene. Can’t you just imagine Snow White’s refusal: “Bitch, Please!” She is definitely not interested.
AND the kit includes 1 sheet each of all 12 designs from the Winter Wishes 6×6 Paper Pad (A pretty winter/snowflake themed set… yet with enough woodgrain, pine cones and black to work with the darker themes in the Snow White tale.)
And there’s even a set of Tiny Mixed Size Flat-Back Pearls in the kit, but I’m running out of space! More info and lots more photos are on the Snow White Kit page.

I would put the image of the dwarves marching back to the house (or off to work) in the altoids tin behind the Fairy Tale Frame! In my scene they will be marching towards the evil queen to exact their revenge for poisoning the fairest of them all, Snow White! They would force her to take small bites of apples that have been cut up. Some are the poisonous apples some are not. She is playing russian roulette with the apple slices so it is all in HER hands if she dies or not!!

I am loving all the altoid tin projects! I made Halloween ones that turned out adorably and my friends treasure them. Now Snow White and the chipboard frames, I am so excited to play with them. I will be using Snow White and the Evil Queen in my project. Thank you for offering such fun new projects!
I would definitely NOT put an image of the evil queen as the image in the mirror! I would like sleeping beauty to wake and find her image there! Careful, be sure to save those altoids, you may need some if you accidentally consume a poison apple!
The lovely Sleeping Beauty would be the one I’d choose for the frame!

I would have to put the Little Mermaid
Those inserts are so cool! I would have to use the baby sleeping beauty surrounded by the fairies and her Mommy. So sweet! I think this would be a great keepsake for someone who is having a baby.

Hmmm… The choice is too hard to make just one tin. I’d need to make at least five of them connected together as a filmstrip of the story’s timeline.
Clueless as to what I would put in tin at this time.
The chipboard frames are perfect love the idea of making a mini shadow box with Alice in Wonderland as well as the fancy frames. I am definitely ordering all the chipboard frames. Can’t wait to make something with them. Happy New Year!! >^..^<
Altoid tins yay! And Sniw White even bigger yay! I would have to have the wicked queen and an apple I think. But if the seven little guys are in the collage sheets I may have to have them! This is super wonderful stuff to start the new year with. Thanks for a chance to win 🙂 this is just grand!!!

I am new to these kits. I don’t know how I missed them but I am so excited to have found them now! Can’t wait to get started on the Snow White one. I have so many ideas which is what I think a good kit does…releases the creative juices!

The Evil Queen
I would put the evil Queen. Love it.
I love the 7 dwarves. I would make a layered mine with them working.
I’d put in a picture of the Evil Queen. My daughter is playing this role in an upcoming professional production and this would make a wonderful gift to her! So Excited! I may have to make one for her and one for me!
The evil queen is my favorite but any one of the pics would look amazing.
My son just took a picture of his dog wearing (knitted)Princess Leia buns, so that will go in the tin in memory of Carrie!
