FOUR New Amour Kits (Valentine Paper Theatres)

The theme for January’s kit is Amour (Valentine Paper Theatres). Although the scrapbook papers in this kit were made for Valentine’s Day, with their bold graphics (and French themed icons), I think they’ll be useful far beyond February 14th.
Note: I’m trying something new this month and have made FOUR smaller kits (the main kit plus THREE add-on kits):

Back to what is in this kit, let’s start with an item that’s back in stock after a long while: Square Shrine – Gatefold. It’s made of 3 pieces of sturdy chipboard, made to be “hinged” together (just with paper tape… or metal hinges if you’re ambitious) to make a simple shrine. There are many collage sheets with images sized to fit this little shrine, and THREE new ones are in this kit:
– Square Shadowbox Curtains – Red Collage Sheet
– Gatefold Square Shrine Curtains Collage Sheet
– Gatefold Shrine B&W Elements Collage Sheet
Check out that adorable House of Alice Theatre by Shannon Cooper! It is such a creative piece (creative for the recipient, too, as it has multiple scenes that can be dropped into the theatre through a slot Shannon left open in the top).

Love all the papers. Would be great to make some type of diorama or theatre with these papers and embellish them with laces, pearl, etc.

So many choices! So difficult! I am torn between making a French theatre for a friend in Paris who is getting over a broken heart, and doing a scene from Hamlet. For my friend, I would not make a ‘Je t’aime’ theatre, but one dedicated to the wonderfulness of HER, with the scene reflecting all the exciting facets of her life.
Hum…I have wheels here just waiting to be on a circus wagon, or maybe a rolling
theater or puppet show. Then there are the Artist Trading cards, Valentine
cards, birthday cards, scrap booking….the list goes on & on!!
“Felines in Footlights” would make a great headliner for a drama with a cat cast!
i would use the French theme to make a special one of a kind gift for my twin sister’s birthday next month. She lived Paris and I could create a wonderful diorama or some thug for her.

So many choices! I would make a Parisian theater/diorama for sure (for my little grand daughter’s French collection), a store front with Parisian bakery items, and maybe a little girl’s closet…terrific giveaway!

Unicorns, Pegasus, Cyclops, dragons, Jackalopes and maybe even a couple of Cheshire cats! I can think of lots of different animals that would live in a Fairy Circus! I would use some of the items for my circus themed project I have been collecting for, and I would make a theater with can-can dancers like Paris sent over here to New York in 1866 for our theater enjoyment.

What a wonderful collection of papers and etc. As I look at them, I feel that in order to really do them justice, I would have to let them do the “talking.” Sometimes it takes some time to create the best project for the giveaway, but here’s hoping I am very lucky!

Ooooohhh! Speaking as trained costumes & scenic designer, I’d totally have to make a miniature of an 18th century theatre, with some mini versions of their fantastic special effects, a la the theatre scenes in the Adventures of Baron Munchausen. (If you haven’t seen it, you NEED to!) All I can think when I see this is the line where the theatre troupe’s manager stars yelling “The waves! The waves!” to get the crew to turn the cranks and make the scene change.
OMGosh ! I believe I would either make something with Alice, or fairies! After visiting Tristan’s blog and seeing his incredible Nutcracker stage- well, I am just so inspired!!

I will make a Moulin Rouge…complete with a gorgeous performer on a swing and Latrec lurking in the background! OH…and a couple of (empty) bottles of Absinthe lying around. BTW…I just getting ready to hit submit and see the comment above mine mentioned Moulin Rouge too!!! WOW! Great…or insane…minds think alike!! LOL
I have been tossing ideas around for a calliope theater on wheels for awhile now. These theaters today got me thinking in that direction again.
I’ve been collecting vintage items, toys etc. to make a circus diorama but I love Kristen’s wagon idea!
