TWO New Kits with a Magic Potions Theme!

A few quick notes before getting to the beautiful artwork and new goodies:

NEW Magic Potions Kit
This month’s kit is Magic Potions! And it should be subtitled “a study in size contrasts” because in addition to this teeny, tiny kit, there is another kit with a larger, chipboard book with a hidden drawer (Secret Spell Book Box Kit — more info and artwork below).
Starting with the tin in this kit: the Small Hinged Tins are smaller than the Altoids Tins. This one is 2-1/2″ x 2″ x 1/2″ tall. And I made a Covers for Apothecary Tins Collage Sheet with covers to fit this new small size tin (and the Altoids Tins) with lots of fortune teller image options (and a couple options for making your tin look like an old magic book or a vintage card deck box). The collage sheet is also included in the kit.
I had such fun finding tiny little bottles to fit inside (even in 2 rows… see the photo at left with me holding the tin). Also a tiny marble (and a little bead cap to sit it on) to make a crystal ball. And with these small sizes, the bottles and “crystal ball” are perfect for 1:12 scale dollhouses!
I’ve also included 2 more new collage sheets:
– Tiny Divination Cards Collage Sheet
Not standard tarot cards but 19th century French fortune cards. Card are in 3 sizes; the largest are 1-3/4″ tall (still small). Note: the tiniest cards are approx 1/2″ tall and can be used for 1:12 scale dollhouse miniatures.
– Tiny Magic Books & Potion Labels Collage Sheet
Beside the teeny tiny bottles in the Magic Potions Kit, this sheet has labels sized to fit bottles from the Even Tinier Bottles, up to the 2 Inch Glass Bottles (and lots of things in between, including the set of Corked Vials, Mini Inkwell Bottles, 12 Tiny Glass Bottles, 3cm Tall Bottle with Cork and 1-1/2 Inch Glass Bottles).

That Kristin Batsel is so clever! She connected 3 of the new tins (well… actually 1-1/2 tins as she used 2 lids) to make a tiny triptych!
Before the Apoxie Sculpt Epoxy Clay had time to dry, I pushed the half round filigree into the top, and then added the metal pieces. I also draped the rosary chain where I wanted it to be, and pushed the corner beads into the clay so that when I glued that in with some E6000, those beads would have a nice indentation to sit in. I removed the chain for painting.
I also love the Eyeball Cab in Setting (also in the kit) and new Silver Skeleton Pendant Kristin used to embellish that center panel (and don’t forget the bottle with the 18x13mm Oval Filigree Setting behind it).

NEW Secret Spell Book Box Kit
Ohh… a book that looks “normal” when sitting on a shelf, but pull out the spine and there’s a secret compartment inside!
This kit contains the Chipboard Secret Spell Book Box and 3 collage sheets used to make the sample artwork by Teri Calia shown at far right (all 4 items in the kit are also available to purchase separately). Teri used quite a few bottles, scrapbook papers, and other embellishments not in this kit, so check her supplies list for all the parts.
Note: the chipboard book arrives flat, but is completely cut and scored and ready to put together.

The collage sheets include covers, spine, faux “pages” (for the top, bottom and sides of the closed book), and a wood-look drawer (if you choose to put a drawer in the bottom of your box, like Teri did) along with some specimen tags, boxes and a big bunch of miniature labels & book covers. The ghoulish green jars are absolutely adorable!! I’m working on a Witchy dollhouse and I think these items would go perfectly in a number of the rooms!

Ooohhh, I love all the tiny bottles, but if I *HAVE* to choose a favorite, it would be the tiny brown bottle. It just looks like something noxious should be in it. 😀
I love the little green square bottles; I haven’t seen anything like them before. I actually have a doll case that I have been using to create a demon’s apothecary. I have been working on it for a couple of years now, and these supplies would be incorporated into it. Thanks for the chance to enter!
With Halloween my most favorite holiday for all the creative possibilities, I would have so much fun “accessorizing” a witch. I create cloth doll witches and all the other “characters” associated with Halloween and it’s so much fun to have such a wonderful selection of goodies. I also love the “book” with hideaway shelves.

Great Halloween goodies! The Witches Book of Spells is wonderful! I think both the green and blue bottles lend themselves nicely to these projects but my favorite are the blue bottles. It would be great fun to make the Book of Spells.

I love tiny bottles. all of these are fantastic but my favorites are the green square one and the one that looks like bronze metal. I would make apothecaries out of both the projects. One traditional witch one and one with a Harry Potter theme- I’m just not sure which each one would be yet. Amazing kits!!!
I absolutely love the cobalt bottle set! I would love to make a mini replica of the Formula 86 bottle from the movie The Witches to add to the apothecary section of my yearly Halloween Haunt!

Love these two giveaways…Hard to decide which I like the best, but I think the spell book wins for me. And now the opinion you asked for!
I would have to buy both the amber and
cobalt bottles. If all one color they blend together and some of the impact disappears. I love the little tin with the eye, it’s just so intriguing…Imagine having your business cards in the tin and pulling that out to interest the recipient. On the Spell book, that is really something I have been waiting for. I might put my little figures, fences and accessories from around my Halloween house in there for storage. It would be an easy way to find them for the next year. If I were to give it away to someone as a gift, I would create “Secret” scrolls to fit inside.
Green Resin Perfume Bottle, is my favorite. They have perfect detail in such a teeny form. I can see using all the amazing things in the give a way to create a intricate Halloween village. Fingers crossed, that I could get so lucky.
I love everything. I guess I like the amber and green tiny resin bottles the best. I really like the light color of the green, really goes well with anything hallweeny. Halloween is my love so I would make the spell book box or anything halloween themed!

That is a gorgeous image. It was already cool… then it became a book… then it became a really well-crafted book.
My favorite tiny bottles are the transparent ones (as opposed to those made of metal or painted). They can be any color, capped or uncapped (are there red ones? Red glass bottles are ridiculously hard to find.).
…not such a fan of the eye. If I win, someone (from this comm.) can have my eye… (the charm eye, not my real one).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Spell Book! This is exactly the type of craft I enjoy. Of course, I like anything with hidden drawers, cubbies, compartments, etc. I also love miniatures so I think I’d fill it with all types of potion ingredients and accessories!

I love the tiny bottles (especially the cobalt blue one.) they remind me of my childhood; finding bottles in the gold country. We never knew what we might find. I’m currently intrigued by mixed media jewelry, and would make something special to wear.

I love the amber resin potion bottles best. My mother had a collection of old pharmaceutical bottles when I was a child and I’d love to recreate it in miniature.
I love the cobalt blue bottles best. I have a stash of essential oils and I’d be able to give small samples away to friends. The darker color of the glass helps to keep the sun from deteriorating the oils.
this would be a first for me as I have never tried doing this type of craft, so what a way to start by winning a this!! I have saved altoid tins in hopes of one day making a Halloween tin, just have not had the funds to do so yet. This is a wonderful kit and giveaway with Halloween just around the corner! I love the Amber resin and the clear whiskey bottles but my favorites are the clear,square beads. They are so versatile. Wish I had thought of that!
