A Halloween Village, New Halloween Goodies & ALL Cats on SALE!

Filed under Art Projects, Halloween, Shannon Cooper, Tim Holtz

It is the perfect time to hide in the house and make some art (the forecast is 109 today… well beyond reasonable). But: Halloween! After feasting your eyes on Shannon’s adorable Halloween project, scroll down for some NEW Halloween items! And a FLASH SALE involving black cats!

A Clutter of Cats in Cottages by Design Team Member Shannon Cooper

What a fun (tiny) little Halloween village! A perfect size to show off the teeny tiny prints in the Masquerade 6×6 Paper Pad. That’s the same paper in the Witch’s Dressing Table Kit announced last Sunday.

Shannon used the Cabana Row House Mini Set (on the 12×4 Platform Base) and it is tiny! See the photo at right of me holding one of the houses! The tallest of the group is just 3-3/4″.

Here’s some text to get us started from Shannon’s blog post:

Anyone else excited about August ending? Sure, September is still hot, insects continue to buzz around, and if I were so inclined, I could shave my legs and go to the beach (on a Tuesday when no one is there). However, September means the beginning of all things Hallowe’en and what could be better?

Um, nothing.

Okay, cats are up there.

So what did I make? It’s a Hallowe’en village for cats. Mostly black cats, but a grey one snuck in somewhere.

I’ve been wanting to make something with the Cabana Row House Mini Set for a really long time. Along comes the Masquerade Paper (in two sizes)… well, that is all it took! It is my new best friend.

The tiny doors and windows from the Mini House Doors & Windows and House Ornament Window Trims fit exactly right on the mini houses. So cute.

Can we talk rickety fence for a sec? I snapped up the new chipboard Tiny Rickety Fence Set and used them EVERYWHERE. Couldn’t get enough of those teensy, wonky things! I also chopped one up (gasp) and made a signpost.

A few Mini 3D Bare Trees were cut apart and painted black before adding them here and there, and I glued scraps of Dresden along the roofs. Some of the houses also have a pretty Dresden star at the peak.

I couldn’t resist the Hocus Pocus banner (hey, that collage sheet is part of the flash sale!) and found two wooden kitties to hold either end (those wooden shapes are part of the flash sale, too)! And there you have it. One Hallowe’en plus cats decoration done!

Here’s Shannon’s supply list and you can see tons more photos in her blog post. There’s also another photo in the Giveaway section below (plus a chance to win lots of the supplies)!

What else is new today?

Mostly Halloween but a pretty addition to summer/beachy papers arrived, too! More than just the items mentioned above (Tiny Rickety Fence Set) or below: you can view all of today’s new and back in stock items.

NEW Flash Sale: Cats & Kittens!

Tons of items from collage sheets to rubber stamps to miniatures! Plus themes are included from Halloween to Alice in Wonderland!) 30% to 50% off!

Over 100 items!

Note: anything on clearance or a digital images set is marked down to 50% off!

The sale ends MONDAY night, September 7th at midnight PST. See the entire sale collection here!

Here’s examples of clearance items in the sale (50% off)!

Halloween Village Giveaway!

There’s another photo showing more details from the left side of the village (I love all the kitties in the windows… plus note that cat holding the twine and the cat on the roof are both part of the flash sale)!
