We have a NEW Christmas Kit today! Plus adorable artwork by Design Team Member Kristin Batsel, and a FLASH SALE on the BAKING Theme!

New Christmas Baking Treat Box Kit

Are you ready for Christmas baking? It’s late October as I write this so it may be a jump from the Halloween festivities to thinking about Christmas crafting. But the time is nigh!

This kit includes a new house-shaped treat box and cute scrapbook papers with a vintage baking/cookie theme. Plus tons of trims to embellish with (from gingerbread cookies to chocolate cakes to polymer slice sprinkles)!

And there’s a new collage sheet, too, with candy-cane-striped labels and vintage images (with a lot of retro snowmen and Santas)! Also labels “A sweet treat for you” and “Sweet treats: Just for you!” (sized for the House Treat Box).

Note: this kit includes 3 HALF sheets of double-sided scrapbook paper (so that’s 6″ x 12″ sheets — ample to cover all 4 sides of the treat box, if you choose to use just one of the patterns).

Go see the new kit for more info and more photos (plus more coordinating goodies and Design Team artwork is below).

The Jolly Christmas Houses of Jingle Lane by Kristin Batsel!

Now that Halloween has passed, it’s time for (you guessed it!) Christmas crafts. I love these new houses from Alpha Stamps; they are so easy to put together, and really fun to decorate. Using new 8×8 papers from Authentique, I made a couple of jolly Christmas houses. In this post, I’ll show you three fun ways to use them during the holidays. First up: a little Christmas scene. Add a few bottle brush trees and a tiny Santa, and ho, ho, ho — let’s visit Jingle Lane!

Here’s number 24. Green and red striped candy canes flank the front entrance, and Christmas lights adorn the roof. The doors and windows have tissue paper behind them, so the houses look lovely with a small battery operated tea light inside.

Number 25 Jingle Lane has a beaded swag outlining their roof and a cookie cutter star for decoration. Candy sprinkles look like flowers under the windows.

Here’s a third option for displaying the houses: tie a long ribbon to the clip, and hang them. They’re so pretty with the lights inside. I’ll talk a bit about the doors and windows and how that glow is achieved below.

Wow! So much good stuff in those few paragraphs! (Thank you, Kristin!) You’ll have to visit Kristin’s blog post to learn more about the tissue paper in the windows (to let light pass through). A note: There are multiple sizes of windows on the Mini House Doors & Windows set Kristin used. One of them does perfectly fit the window holes pre-cut in the house… Kristin chose a different window (and a door) so she gives tips on making larger holes.

Here’s Kristin’s full supply list!
