Cosmos House Shrine by Nichola Battilana!

Wow! Nichola has made a lovely, mysterious shrine using the papers from the new Cosmos 12×12 Paper Pad. How did I guess she’d be the perfect person to send this pad to? 🙂

Note: there’s also a related rice paper sheet that’s new today: Cosmos Astral; it’s a collage of the moon with antique calligraphy and watercolor splashes (and would make a fine background layer for a similar shrine).

Here’s some text from Nichola’s blog post to get back to the artwork at hand:

I’m falling fast in love with Stamperia papers and Alpha Stamps placed one of their newest pads to into my greedy little hands.

Cosmos is packed with gorgeous blues, purples, night skies, moons, birds, owls, and wolves… swoon!

I used the pad to decorate a House Shrine Box Kit. The result is like a wild magical night in the forest.

Flat-back gold stars dot the edges and the top elements of a Layered Round Chipboard Frame and Layered Victoria Scroll Border creep like vines around the opening.

The supply list for this project is a short one as the pad really does most of the work with it’s great mix of background papers and focal images.

Beautiful work, Nichola!! I love the layering of the creatures she cut out from the papers (plus the little snips of the 2 chipboard flourish sets, covered in glitter, of course)! I’m also enamored of the roof “shingle” technique: using layers of distressed paper (see the close-up on the left of the wide photo below).
