Butterfly Garden Journal, Confection Papers & Fairy Garden Sale!

Filed under Art Projects, Back in Stock, Butterfly Garden Kit, Fairy Garden, Kristin Batsel

Serene. That’s what word came to mind when I saw this beautiful journal made by Design Team Member Kristin Batsel using the Butterfly Garden Kit (and the Wide Letter Box Book turned sideways as wrap-around book covers).

And I’m with Kristin: we are having a heat advisory here this weekend so we kinda skipped spring and dove into summer too early… but it feels all calm and cool looking at Kirstin’s Butterfly Garden Journal!

Here’s a bit from Kristin’s blog post to start:

The new June kit features the Butterfly Garden 6×6 Paper Pad. It’s perfect for spring, even though we seemed to have jumped right on into summer where I live. In any case, I decided to take the Wide Letter Box Book provided and make a sort of junk journal. Don’t you just love that bee? It’s actually a pendant, but I think it looks great as a charm.

It was fun to mix and match the papers from the 6×6 pad to make the inside and outside of the cover. I altered the Box Book a bit by cutting the spine down by half, as I wanted a bit of a smaller journal. Leaving the spine its full size would make quite a chunky book. My binding rings are only 3/4″, so a little trimming was necessary.

The pages of the book were bound with a Zutter BindItAll. After the wire bindings were done, I threaded a couple of rubber bands through the wires and slid them onto the spine. If I ever want to change the contents of the interior, it’ll be easy to remove this insert.

So clever using rubber bands!

Here’s a link to all of Kristin’s supplies. And check below for a photo showing 4 more of the inside pages (and a chance to win ALL the supplies)! AND don’t miss the new goodies and new sale between here and there!

Serene Journal for Late Spring Giveaway!

So sweet! All those pink-hued ladies from the Easter Bonnets Collage Sheet work perfectly with the papers in Kristin’s Butterfly Garden Journal!

Today’s Giveaway includes ALL the supplies in Kristin’s project! That’s a little deceptive, as the June Kit already has the 6×6 papers and that lovely big filigree bee (on the front cover flap). But the Giveaway also includes the Wide Letter Box Book and Easter Bonnets Collage Sheet (only 3 items if you count the kit as one item, but that just about covers everything in Kristin’s project).

Note: if an item is duplicated in the Butterfly Garden Kit (included in the Giveaway) and also listed separately in the supply list, I’m just including one of those items.

HOWEVER, I am including a bonus:
– One of the Antique Mini Envelope Sets (nice small sizes of pre-made (and decorated) envelopes you could bind into your own journal)
and (for more pink paper options):
Attic Charm Foyer Scrapbook Paper
Always & Forever Love Clippings Scrapbook Paper

To enter the Serene Journal for Late Spring Giveaway drawing all you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post TODAY or TOMORROW (the deadline is 11:59 pm PST, Monday Night, June 10, 2019).

And what are you going to make?

Don’t forget to leave your (hello!) correct email address, too, so I can contact the winner; your email address does not need to be made public. Note: I’m offering free shipping, too, but only within the USA. International shipping will still apply.

Please be patient! Spammers try to post crap here a lot so comments are moderated. So if you don’t see your post in the comments section, be patient and check back in a few hours before re-posting it, please!

After midnight, I’ll randomly pick the winner (via Random.org).

Hey, who won the Tabbed Book & Butterflies Giveaway from Thursday’s newsletter? That would be Nadine! Congrats! Check your email for info.
