Pretty Pink Christmas Things by Nichola Battilana!

Filed under Art Projects, Giveaways, Newsletters, Nichola Battilana, Retro Ornaments Matchbox Kit, Sale

A quick note before diving into the new goodies & new artwork: I just put the Early 20th Century Fashions Collage Sheets on sale at 40% off (note: cardstock & digital versions only). Whyever for (is that a word?): as today is the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI (or Armistice Day, which is a lovely word and I wish we still used it here). There are lots of options in that section (as it’s for an era rather than a theme, there’s everything from Titanic ephemera to bathing beauties… and some of my favorite fashions of all time: the 1910s)! Note: the sale ends Wednesday night, November 14th.

Oh my… I do believe Nichola was feeling the Christmas spirit! Not only the THREE wonderful little projects I’m showing here, but there’s a 4th (just as beautiful!) that I didn’t even have room for! Let’s start with this little treat made with the Peaked Roof Matchbox:

And I do mean tiny, as the little matchbox is just 1-1/2″ x 2-1/4″ (x 3/4″ deep). But Nichola fills it with so many layers (of fussy cut) papers from the NEW Christmas Vintage 12×12 Paper Pad and Pink Christmas 12×12 Paper Pad (and a fair bit of glitter… it is Nichola, after all). Those little birds (with the sweet poem) are such a lovely gift (or ornament? or ornament on a gift box?) in their little bird house.

Scroll down just a bit to see the next mini matchbox project, which will help make this bit from Nichola’s blog post make sense:

A few years ago I would have laughed if you told me I’d be all about pink Christmas. This year I’m all about the pink Christmas.

I’ve used two paper collections: Pink Christmas 12×12 Paper Pad and Christmas Vintage 12×12 Paper Pad for all the projects and I’m loving the way they work together.

Add some faux snow and a (new) Gold Dresden Christmas Tree… swoon!

That pink “Joy” box at left is made from the 2×3 Chunky Matchbox, so a tiny bit larger than the matchbox above (and again with layers of fussy cut papers to give dimension on the box top).

I love the 1 Inch Clear Acrylic Snowflake Mix, I think you can just make out 2 of them on the box top (left with their matte protective cover on for a more frosted/less shiny look). And the simplicity of the Gold Dresden Christmas Tree inside is just perfect.

See more photos (and see that 4th project — the 3rd, by the way, is below in the Giveaway section) on Nichola’s blog post.

Here’s Nichola’s Supply List for all of today’s projects.

Christmas ON SALE!

Hey, these are all part of the clearance sale and are either used in Nichola’s artwork or would be cute little charms hanging from similar matchboxes!! See the clearance site for 70% off Christmas Paper, Christmas Charms & Christmas Rubber Stamps. Note: These are on the clearance site so are at a different URL than the main site.

Hooray for the Sweet Retro Gift Boxes Giveaway!

I know… they’re not pink (and they use the goofy retro images from this month’s kit), but Nichola still manages to make these little matchboxes so romantic!

This Giveaway includes tons of goodies; first these from her supply list (the list for all of today’s artworks, not just the cuties at left):
– Retro Ornaments Matchbox Kit – November 2018 (ooh… that will give you 2 matchboxes, a set of the 1 Inch Clear Acrylic Snowflake Mix and the Jingle paper shown at left)
– Peaked Roof Matchbox
– Gold Dresden Christmas Trees
– Mini Candy Canes
– Santa Sleigh Silver Charm Set (2 are hanging from the bird house)
– Twinklets Diamond Dust – 3oz Jar

Just click on this Supply List link for photos and links to everything in Nichola’s artwork (though “just” those listed above are included in the Giveaway).

Then these new things not shown in the artwork:
Silver Double Candy Cane Charms
Silver Cup of Cocoa with Heart
Christmas Vintage Patisserie Scrapbook Paper (note: it’s one of the sheets in the new Christmas Vintage 12×12 Paper Pad)

Those new charms would be cute hanging from a matchbox, similar to the charms Nichola used in the top matchbox above.

Finally, a couple things Nichola did use, that are on sale on the clearance site:
Fluffy Winter Snow
Fancy Red Holly Berries Mix
