A Mechanical Treasure Chest + Submarine FREE Gift Kit!

Filed under Beneath the Sea Kit, Giveaways, Newsletters, Sale, Shannon Cooper, Steampunk

Note: most of the links on this post no longer work, as we moved to a new Web site in 2018. However, you can see the supply list items from Shannon’s project that are still available on the new site.

I was inspired by today’s Mechanical Treasure Chest artwork, so…. NEW Submarine with Spinning Wheel FREE Gift Kit! These kits are FREE for ALL orders, now through TUESDAY NIGHT, June 28, 2016 (or until the kits are gone)! Learn more.

What? Shiny bits half off?! Check out Thursday’s newsletter for all the details.

I must say: That Shannon Cooper is brilliant! I love the whimsy and ingenuity of her Mechanical Treasure Chest (not the least: you must see the video of all the moveable parts in the little booklet inside the chest)!!

But, I get ahead of myself. The chest itself is a work of art, and has that little man riding a fish on the cover!

The lid of the chest includes one of my favorite images from the Voyage Beneath the Sea papers, this dapper snapper-riding gent that’s ready for adventure. He’s been glued onto a coil made from paper covered wire so he’s sproingy. It reminds me of those metal animals on giant springs at the park. The lid also has a really cool 6×6 Gears Texture Sheet that I painted and cut to fit inside the lid’s frame. There’s also a metal clock with a spinning hand, a bronze octopus charm, a gorgeous (!) brass patina starfish, and an undersea beauty framed in a bronze gear.

Many more photos and tips (like that preview below of an easy how-to on making a butterly fly!) are on Shannon’s blog post.

See everything Shannon used in her decorating in the Mechanical Treasure Chest Supply List. (And check below ’cause many of these items are also featured in today’s Giveaway!)

And click on that photo at left or here for the video!
