New Kit, New Collage Sheets, New Tim Holtz Vellums (!)

Filed under Collage Sheets, Giveaways, Kristin Batsel, Newsletters, Red Riding Hood Kit, Sale, Tim Holtz

Not quite Halloween, but edging closer: our August kit is Little Red Riding Hood — with some scary wolves and dark forests. The Brothers’ Grimm Fairy Tales always seemed like good Halloween ghost stories to me. (Originally Children’s and Household Tales, the collection of German-origin fairy tales was first published in 1812 by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm.)

(Learn more about this tale in the The Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales article.)

I’m including FOUR collage sheets in the kit (and all are On Sale! in case you’d like to buy them separately):

New! What Big Eyes You Have Collage Sheet (I love that image of the terrified little girl… plus this sheet has some good text phrases to include in a collage, like “What big eyes you have!” and “Wicked”.)

New! Meeting the Wolf Collage Sheet (Some really dark, foreboding forests in this one; plus those snarling wolves…)

New! Oh Grannie Dear Collage Sheet (I love the stylized text in these old books!)

Red Riding Hood #1 Collage Sheet (An older sheet but the colors and images are perfect in this mix.)

The kit also includes:
– A 6×6 sheet of the New and On Sale! Color Me Ebony Nostalgia Flowers and Lace Scrapbook Paper (that includes a leaf and flower border perfect for cutting out and using to trim the edge of a card or small collage — and it’s a varnished paper so you can easily color the pattern while leaving the black lines black)
– 6×6 sheets of An Eerie Tale Run and Hide and Unsolved Mystery Scrapbook Papers
– Some Tiny Green Leaf Garland (perfect for some leafy trim around grandma’s house in the woods)
– Some of the New and On Sale! Mixed Red Tiny Paper Roses
– And two 8×8 sheets of moody, distressed calligraphy paper (not available separately).

While I'm explaining what's in the kit, most everything in this month's kit is also available to buy separately (until sold out).

And new this month: as the Design Team often receives a wider group of products to play with around the monthly themes, I’ve gathered together everything they received (beyond what’s in the regular August kit) and I’ve put together a Little Red Riding Hood Add-On Kit. So if you want more papers, collage sheets (including one more new Red Riding Hood collage sheet) and those cool die-cut chipboard trees with one click, here’s your chance.

And, in honor of this month's theme, I've put the ENTIRE Brothers’ Grimm Collage Sheets Section On Sale! (And that also includes the FOUR collage sheets in the kit!) Catch it quick as the sale ends August 21st.

And did you see that Grandma’s House artwork (at left) by Design Team Member Kristin Batsel? Kristin is a wonder — and I am so glad she provided a tutorial for all those inventive details like the tiny hand-made stonework made from an egg carton! Read more on Kristin’s blog.

In addition to the parts from this kit, the main thing Kristin added is a Votive House Shrine Kit. Under all those cobblestones (and the sand paper shingled roof) is a little masonite shrine! And it’s On Sale! And also included in today’s Giveaway!

And there’s some lovely new vellum papers (3 sets) by Tim Holtz (more info below). Plus check out the ideas at right for backlighting the vellum paper in a 3D Luminary or using Distress Markers to add a bit more color to the vellum by coloring on the back of the vellum papers.

And don’t forget: last Thursday we announced a FREE Bee Banners Collage Sheet. FREE for all orders over $20 through TOMORROW, Monday, August 4th! More info and a photo are below.

And a Little Red Riding Hood Add-On Kit (and these 2 papers from this kit can’t be see in the photo):
Red Music Scrapbook Paper
Tan & Red Music Scrapbook Paper
