Flaming Heart Artwork, New Lanterns & Building Materials on SALE!

Filed under Art Projects, Bella Ayers, Halloween, Miniatures

There are FOUR new miniature lanterns today! Two have a hexagon shape (like the one shown at left: believe it or not, that’s the larger of the two). Two are square with an “X” in the panes, like the petite one at right (shown with the facade from the Mushroom Niche Shrine for scale… and an idea for a tiny lantern to adorn your gnome or fairy house)!

And in honor of these new lanterns (and more new minis shown below): ALL Miniature Building Materials are on sale through tomorrow night (Monday night, August 10th)! (So the new lanterns are included, too!) More info on the sale is below!

Forever Nanny by Bella Ayers!

Wow! I love this! Design Team Coordinator Miz Bella (Kimberly Ayers) created this Forever Nanny shrine by mixing up a couple different sizes of niche shrines. And I have to agree with her: A little cool, a little creepy, eh?

That’s actually a niche sitting in a niche (the shadowbox niche that’s cut into the heart shrine is taller (it goes almost to the top of the heart shape). Bella used one of the facades from the Matchbox Shrine Facade Set
(that’s sized to fit a standard matchbox from kitchen matches) that’s sitting inside.

Here’s some of the intro text from Bella’s blog post:

I had a lot of fun playing with the Little Niche Shrine – Simple Heart. Leslie asked me to put something together using the fabulous Chipboard Wings Assortment and the Heart Shrine so I was all ready to do something with them!

At least I thought I was. Every time I sat down to work on it I drew a blank and it got pushed off to the side. The other day I was going through one of the many piles I have everywhere in my studio and found the Articulated Skeleton – 4 Inch Tall along with an image from the Dolls in the Attic Collage Sheet laying together. Who knows how long they had been in this pile, I’m just glad they showed up when they did. (Added bonus – the image was already cut out!)

I love this project, Bella! Everything fits together perfectly (and the colors are beautiful)! And, of course: funny and a bit macabre.

Here’s Bella’s supply list and you can read more in her blog post. There’s another photo in the Giveaway section below, too.
