Before seeing Laura Carson’s pretty seashell jewelry (in a gift box!), we have an announcement: an extra art project (and an amazing project, too)!
We have a special treat today! Captain Nemo’s Organ Room artwork by Guest Designer Jessica Armstrong! I love how the everything is caught midway in the process of being tossed and fro, and teetering here and there by the giant octopus?!

Design Team Member Laura Carson has created a Treasure Chest Gift Box with Jewelry that looks so expensive but with Laura’s tips you could make a set or 2 as beautiful gifts in no time!
Good things come in small packages and this one is no exception. If you are looking for a special way to present a small gift, how about making a gift box from a mini kraft treasure chest.
My version of a gift box is mermaid themed and contains a ocean themed necklace and bracelet.

I would tint papers in a bath of alcohol ink and water! It makes a beautifully marbled background on BOTH sides of the paper!!

What a wonderful give away!
I’d put some shells from the beach in the alcohol ink and blending solution as well as some ribbon! For the Gilders Paste a nice shade of pink, red, copper would be beautiful.
I have never used these, so I would love to experiment on all sorts of things. I am sure they would be very useful!
Great idea on the beads. I would like to see the paste in a white or antique white.
I’ve colored miniature plates, paper, ceramics, even wood with alcohol inks. Love them, so versatile.

Love the treasure chest! I love using the alcohol inks on paper and would make backgrounds for cards! And the Gilder’s Paste looks awesome! I haven’t tried it yet but I love all the colors you carry! Silver would be a great addition!
Everything in this giveaway is beautiful. I would definitely tint seashells and use white sand and tint the sand to match the seashells. Thanks for a great giveaway.
I would tint the necklace chain and add a few areas of Gilder’s Paste

Beautiful project,colors are fabulous! I would tint the beads with alcohol ink and I love the look of gold and silver gilders paste. The little mermaid is a great topping,nice finishing touch!

I got rid of all my alcohol inks so I won’t be dying anything. As for Gilder’s Paste, I like the Patina color.

Lovely projects and giveaway. I would color some of my white seashells. Seems like that is all that is available and want to have rainbow colored ones. I don’t use gilder’s paste but think a red or pink tone would be good.
I’d tint the taps and pipes of a sink that will be used in a workshop or decrepit basement.

Love the treasure chest and all the amazing treasure. As for the Alcohol Ink and Blending Solution, that’s a new technique for me and I can’t wait to try it. I mold a lot and sculpt a little Resin Clay. Its a one part air dry clay that I bet would dye nicely with that technique. As for Guilder Paste, i put in my request for silver. Their silver is the very best! I mix a teeny tiny bit of Inca gold with a little dab of silver and it makes a luscious warm silver. Keeping my fingers crossed for this drawing!

I love to tint all kinds of things with alcohol inks but I’m using it on plastic aquarium plants for my mermaid scenes. I haven’t used Gilder’s Paste so I guess I’d better get busy with it.

I love Gilder’s Paste! Gives anything you put it on a wonderful old world patina.
Never tried tinting seashells but would look great with mermaid cloth dolls. I’m always open to new techniques.
Base color of alcohol inks on glossy card stock, layering color by using canned air, alcohol ink and blending solution to create bursts of color to represent underwater scenes. I would use alcohol ink on sea glass, shells, glass bottles, metal, plastic and anything that needs to be altered. Love all of the gilders paste, each one delivers a different effect….surprise me!

I have never used the alcohol inks before. Sounds like everyone has some wonderful ideas – I’m liking the shell and sea glass ideas.
I would dip tiny bottles in the alcohol inks to make a rainbow of colored bottles.

Well hmm I need some of those rosary beads I think. As to tinting with alcohol I is I have quite a bit of old costume jewelry that I ransack for gems and do dads. So I think I would play a little with that I love the old verdigris finishes. I have never used gilders paste but it looks wonderful! I really love the old city finishes and I am always looking for something that leaves a really silvery or gold finish! Love all the charms in this giveaway
