Fear not! Even though this item is now sold out, there are still links to related items on this page. (Plus lots of eye candy from the Design Team!)
This month’s kit is The Cemetery! It's feeling more and more like Halloween (our favorite season). There are supplies here to get you started on a spooky scene, from cemetery silhouettes, miniature coffins, a gothic fence, black cat and bats, and a silly (glow-in-the-dark) zombie finger puppet!
And, as the Design Team often receives a wider group of products to play with around the monthly themes, I've gathered together everything they received (beyond what's in the regular August kit) and I've put together a Cemetery Add-On Kit. So if you want more collage sheets (coffins and tombstones), paper mache boxes, spider webs, and another fence — all with one click — here's your chance.
Back to this kit, let's start with the Cemetery Tombstone Silhouettes Collage Sheet. The sheet includes 3 spooky scenes that would fit an ATC (and one bigger image that has tree stumps around a bare tree — and some raven, cat, owl and bat silhouettes that could sit on those stumps or sit in the tree branches).
I had an idea for tombstones (about 2" tall) that could stand up in a shadowbox scene, which led to finding the Narrow Blank Matchboxes (6 in a reuseable kraft box are included in the kit), AND which led to the idea of making double-use of that matchbox (to back the tombstones as a stand and to hide wires in... if you go the extra step and use the new Tiny size of Red LED Demon Eyes to make scary red eyes for the creatures on the tombstones).
Check out Teri Calia's Snapguide for a step-by-step tutorial on how to wire a tiny tombstone with LEDs.
Next up in this kit: a Mini Chipboard Gothic Fence. Almost 3" wide x 1-3/4" tall. Perfect size for an ATC or use it with the box that the Narrow Blank Matchboxes come shipped in.
Then some creatures to inhabit your cemetery:
- An Acrylic Black Sitting Cat Cut-Out (which is a perfect size to sit against a standing tombstone),
- Two Acrylic Black Bat Cut-Outs, and
- A Zombie Finger Puppet (!). They're sold separately as a set of 5, but just one is in this kit. Did I mention they glow in the dark?
I’ve also included 2 more new collage sheets:
- Tiny Little Coffin Boxes - Newer Collage Sheet
("Newer" because there is a simiar collage sheet but with different hardware and coffins in a more decayed state... that collage sheet is also in the Add-On Kit.) This sheet has 3 sizes of little coffins to put together, plus some handles and other hardware.
- Skeleton Slide Mailers Collage Sheet
Skeletons (some dressed in 19th century clothing, some from Renaissance Memento Mori paintings), sized for 2-slide Slide Mailers (3" x 3-3/4" so ample room to use on ATCs, too).
(And remember: all the collage sheets are on sale for 15% off (and the digital downloads are on sale for 40% off!), so those new collage sheets are on sale, too!)
See the "We Also Recommend" section below for photos/links to all of the items in the kit, also available to purchase separately.
AND: all the items in the kit are On Sale, too!
See the newsletter announcing this kit for more artwork by Shannon Cooper
and Teri Calia — and new related supplies!
(And remember, there is also a related Cemetery Add-On Kit available on another page.)
Kits are announced the first weekend of each month. However, if you sign up for a subscription, your kit will probably have already been mailed to you.
A note on timing for subscribers: the kits don't ship till your automatic payment is made; the recurring payment date is based on the date you signed up for the subscription. If you'd like to make a 1-time "catch up" payment so that you'll be first in line to receive all future kits, contact Customer Service.
If you buy a subscription after the 15th of the month, your first kit will be for the following month (so if you subscribe on October 16th, the November kit will be your first kit).
Kits from previous months will be available for purchasing until sold out.
And remember, here's a link to everything in this month's kit that is also available to buy separately. More coordinating goodies are listed on the blog post announcing this kit.
