Fear not! Even though this item is now sold out, there are still links to related items on this page.
(Plus lots of eye candy from the Design Team!)
And info on the Peek-a-boo Cards Swap!
Peek-a-boo, I see you! Or perhaps a black cat, or Alice in Wonderland, or a fairy or two? The exclusive 4x4 Die-Cut Chipboard Frame Sets were designed for cards with images that show through (or peek out from around the edges of) the peep hole on the front of the card.
As you can see in the photos, the front and back covers of the cards are separate pieces. Just hinge them together easily with paper tape (like the Time Card by Rhea Freitag, shown at left)... and the Back in Stock! Smash Tape: Black & White Dots, Cashmere Dame Washi Tape - Chevron or the Elements Tissue Tape set would be perfect.
Or glue on some metal hinges, like the Hot Air Balloon card at right (also by Rhea). Rhea used the Hinges With Brads, but most of the brass hinges would work, too.
I've included the circle cut out from the front cover (which can become a template — or hinge it for a round door that opens, like on Laura Carson's Tea Time card shown at left). (The round door and the square cover both open — clever!)
I stayed with a tight black and white palette for the rest of this kit (and silhouettes on the 3 new collage sheets). But you don't have to stick with black and white — you'll be amazed by the rainbow of colors in the artwork from the Design Team, tinting or painting the paper and ribbons with the On Sale! Distress Stains and Distress Paints!
And the new Black and Ivory Prints 6x6 Paper Pads! What great patterns! The pads are similar designs as the Black and Kraft Prints 6x6 Paper Pad (used so beautifully by Rhonda Secrist Thomas in her recent tag book tutorial, but in black and ivory. Leave them alone or go wild coloring them to your liking.
So here's what's in the June kit:
3 new collage sheets — all sized for the 4x4 Die-Cut Chipboard Frame Sets (printed on cardstock)
1 - Scary Silhouettes Collage Sheet
I had fun picking these out: everything from skeletons to hearses (2 of them) to Little Miss Muffet and her spider.
2 - Opera Silhouettes Collage Sheet
A nice selection of backgrounds, city skylines, curtains and 18th century ladies with fans. Tag at right by Rhonda, see the collage sheet page for more info/photos.
3 - Alice Silhouettes Collage Sheet
Ton of images from Alice in Wonderland: The White Rabbit (actually, quite a few poses of him), the Red Queen (and the King of Hearts), the Caterpillar, the Mad Hatter's Teaparty... lots of the faves are here.
Plus an exclusive collage sheet only in the June kit: Silhouettes Sampler (printed on transparency)
A few images from each of the 3 new collage sheets, but printed on a clear transparency so you can experiment overlaying the images over other papers — or have the black printed image extend into the clear space in the center of the peep hole on the front of the card.
Two sets of the 4x4 Die-Cut Chipboard Frame Sets
(2 solid backs; 2 die-cut fronts and 2 circle templates)
Black and Ivory Prints 6x6 Paper Pad
Single-sided, heavy cardstock sheets; 1 each of the 9 designs from the pad. The full pad has 36 sheets (4 each of the same designs).
Two 10" strips of Black Dresden Borders
A random selection of 2 strips from the New Black Dresden Border Sampler Set
A crazy Black and White Fiber Set with 14 different ribbons. Tons of black and white options in different textures and widths. Amongst the ribbons are Stitched Leaf Ribbon in Black and White. And check out the beautiful job Shannon did coloring some of those white ribbons below!
Kits are announced the first weekend of each month. However, if you sign up for a subscription, your kit will have already been mailed to you.
All options are postage-paid! USA only.
(That's postage to get the kit to you — not return postage if you're participating in the swap.)
$15 per month
If you buy a subscription after the 15th of the month, your first kit will be for the following month (so if you subscribe on June 16th, the July kit will be your first kit).
Kits from previous months will be available for purchasing until sold out.
If you are participating in the monthly swap, artwork will be due by the last day of the month (so June 30th for the June swap). Note: You do not have to buy the monthly kit to participate in that month's swap (however, the collage sheets & other components are sold at a discount if purchased in the kit). The Peek-a-boo Cards Swap will require using at least one rubber stamp or collage sheet image sold on the Alpha Stamps site, but any collage sheet (or rubber stamp) image is fair game (not just the 4 collage sheets included in the kit).
But you don't need to join the swap to enjoy playing with the goodies in the kit. Speaking of things in the kit, most everything in this month's kit is also available to buy separately (until sold out). See the "We Also Recommend" section at the bottom of this page for links to all the individual components.
