Display Furniture for an Antique Shop by Laura Carson
Filed under Antique Shop, Collage Sheets, Laura Carson, Miniatures, Tutorials
What a beautiful mix of images from Laura Carson’s Antique Shop today! Good thing Laura made a video tutorial to explain them all.
Last week was the first part of three posts (about making lamps and lighting fixtures). Today is all about furniture (and items displayed on or in them)!
And a special treat from Laura: That Miniature Plate Patterns Mini Collage Sheet shown at far right (a sample set from the THREE new collage sheets today with plate designs) is FREE with all orders placed today (Sunday) through Tuesday (ends June 21, 2022).
There are 5 different plate sizes; 1″, 3/4″, 3/8″, 5/16″, and 3/16″. The images are sized to fit miniature plates (like the 3 sizes in the White Dishes & Silverware Place Setting at near right, the related White Plastic Dinner Plates, and also the larger Set of Plain White Plates). You can see a few of the plates in the green bookcase below (and more will be featured next week when we see the finale to this Antique Shop series.
Plus I made a new collection from the supply lists from all of the featured furniture — and put them all on Sale! More info below!
New Collage Sheets (and an amazing sideboard)!
That photo at left has a very varied group of items for sale at this dreamy shop. Starting with the Shop Counter that the suitcases (and many other items) are sitting on. AND the new Vintage Decorative Panels Collage Sheet that Laura used to cover the Shop Counter! I can also see a tall panel from this new sheet on the side of the green bookcase above (top right corner).
Note: Each of the display pieces in this post has a separate supply list (here’s the link for the Sideboard, and for the Suitcases), though this overview list contains all the smaller lists from today, too. Laura links to each of the supply lists on her blog post.
Oh, a note about those suitcases: Laura used tiny strips of the new Kraft-Tex Paper Fabric – Vintage Sampler Set as straps.
I spy a chess piece and the Silver Candelabra from last week sitting on the sideboard. There’s also a trio of binoculars & telescopes on top of the suitcases. And the Mini Venus Statue sitting on the new Floor Pedestal sitting on the floor.
More New Supplies!
Wow — so many pretty new things today! Including the rest of the FIVE new collage sheets and a couple of cast metal items Laura painted so they might not be immediately apparent in the pics. There are quite a few more new goodies today than show below, so here’s a link to see them all.
Clever New Desk!
Laura used the new Unfinished 3-Drawer Table as the starting point for her desk (and as you can see, added height to it with fancy 3D embellishments by using the Architectural Flourishes Silicone Mold.
I spy a couple table lamps from last week, in gold and silver. Also a pair of bronze candlesticks and a metal urn (painted coppery).
The table itself comes with round knobs for the 3 working drawers but Laura replaced them with a couple Mini Brass Cabinet Pulls and an Antique Brass Mini Oval Drop Handle.
Here’s the supply list link for this Desk.
By the way, another supply link note: the bits and bobs shown that are general “display items” have their own link (quite a long list).
Read more (and see more photos and the video) in Laura’s blog post.
