Halloween Art, New Christmas Items & German Glitter Sale!

Filed under Art Projects, Back in Stock, Christmas, Halloween, Laura Carson

There’s a new Dear Santa 6×6 Paper Pad today! Cute retro prints with a deep dark green. And I love that bright red & white stripe — always useful!

And while we’re on the Christmas subject (yes, a bit early but never too early to start making gifts) there’s a new Yuletide Ornament Charms Set (shown at right). A big set of antique pewter-toned metal charms. Cast metal and flat on the back (a little heavy). From trees, wreaths and stars to candy canes.

Finally in the Christmas vein: A preview of the new German glass glitter (so pretty!) that’s featured below and that inspired today’s flash sale!

House of Horrors Handmade Book by Design Team Member Laura Carson

We’re revisiting a 2019 Halloween project by Laura: the House of Horrors Handmade Book! Laura created 4 collage sheets and a digital images set for that book! AND I just checked: there are still 36 items available from Laura’s supply list!

Here’s some text from the original blog post:

Just in time for Halloween, I have a spooky book project for you titled “House of Horrors.” I’ve packed in lots of creepiness from my new image sets and other embellishments. The book is constructed using chipboard haunted house and tombstone shapes which makes it easy to assemble and decorate.

The house is full of spooky pictures with vampires, werewolves, ghosts, witches, skeleton people, and headless women. Inside you’ll find a trunk full of creepy doll heads. Behind a gate is a vampire with her coffin. I’ve used lots of candles on the pages, as I think they add to the creep factor.

On the back of the book (which is the large photo at left), there is a shrouded skeleton walking through a graveyard with blood flowing from a fountain. (I have the fountain image for you in my blog post.) I used paper roses with their stems twisted together to make a vine. A blood-red moon and bats complete the scene and of course, more candles.

Beautifully spooky work, Laura!! I love the binding techinique Laura used (to keep all the surface of the book pages available for decorating, shown in the wide photo below).

Go visit Laura’s blog post for more photos and a video tutorial! And here’s Laura’s supply list to help track down all those details!
