She Sells Seashells, Halloween & Metal Minis Sale

Filed under Art Projects, Back in Stock, Bella Ayers, Giveaways, Newsletters, Sale, Vacation Memories Kit

Miz Bella is feeling a bit under the weather (I think we’re all feeling a bit wrung out with the heat). I have a bunch of lovely photos of her She Sells Seashells project (using the July kit), and a wee bit of text. There are more photos on her blog post, too, but not much else. Here’s hoping she feels better soon and can fill in a bit…

Helpful (and humorous) text from Bella:

Here’s what I learned what to do/not to do:

To get the corners of the lid to stay while drying: clothespins work great.

Be sure to ink or paint the outer edges of the box lid and leaves BEFORE you glue everything down. Otherwise you will end up saying very bad words trying to get everything colored on the edges in-between the papers. (Verryy bad words.)

Gently work the lid down over the leaves (sides of the box). Or you’ll end up busting the seams and then trying to get them back to stay together is a pain in the arse. (Bad words will come-a-rollin out of your mouth again.)

Go outside of your comfort zone and instead of inking everything with black, try a different color that maybe isn’t so stark against the pale papers.

Aahh, before you put the leaves together and add the top you may want to make sure that the Stickles are dry. (By this time you’ll be certifiable sailor mouth.)

Hooray for the She Sells Seashells Giveaway!

This Giveaway includes a few things that caught my eye in Bella’s project:

I love the bathing beauties (some sitting in seashells)… I don’t think any of the artwork this month has used bathing beauties. So i’m including the Bathing Beauties #2 and Shell Postcards Collage Sheets.

And (of course) the Double Explosion Box

I also love the glittery swirls Bella added with Stickles, so I’m include the Waterfall and Diamond colors.

PLUS: you get to pick out 2 more things (actually, 3 things):
– one of the Cast Metal Minis from the new sale, and
– TWO of beachy charms from the Sea/Beach Charms section of the clearance site!

To enter the She Sells Seashells Giveaway drawing all you have to do is leave a comment BELOW on this blog post TODAY or TOMORROW (the deadline is 11:59 pm PST, Friday Night, July 27, 2018).

It would be useful to get your picks for the “you choose” items (in your comment), but if you feel rushed, we can sort out the winner’s extra items later.

Don’t forget to leave your (hello!) correct email address, too, so I can contact the winner; your email address does not need to be made public. Note: I’m offering free shipping, too, but only within the USA. International shipping will still apply.

Please be patient! Spammers try to post crap here a lot so comments are moderated. So if you don’t see your post in the comments section, be patient and check back in a few hours before re-posting it, please!

After midnight, I’ll randomly pick the winner (via Random.org).

Hey, who won the Over the Summer Sea Giveaway from Sunday’s newsletter? That would be Angie M! Congrats! Check your email for info.

I love the retro swimmer. She reminds me a bit of the Little Mermaid. Hans Christian Andersen, not Disney. I think I’d work in a copy of the statue somewhere in the project. As for the extras…I love the Cathedral Frame, Anchor and Pewter starfish. Thanks for considering me!

For metal either the drafting set or the mini cauldron…. Your choice. Either would be wonderful. I’m making a miniature studio and a miniature witch’s store so either would fit. Thanks again for all that you do

Wow! Another fabulous idea for the exploding box! The bathing beauty on the sea shell in the center looks like something I would create. I would like the metal cathedral frame, and 2 life preservers (or 1 life preserver and 1 palm tree) charms. I love the ocean and sea shells, and these beach-themed exploding boxes have given this desert rat a refreshing break from the sand and cacti!!

  24. Kat Cashwell says:

Awesome box! I love the bathing beauties!

You just keep putting out ideas that I dream about-I live, think and breathe the beach-I think I would set mine up to have one side as a “floor” so it could be a little diorama -maybe even hanging it up! ANYTHING beach related would be loved by me.
