Spooky Ghosts for Halloween! Related FREE Gift & NEW Sale!

Wow! We have 2 Halloween projects today (both by Design Team Member Laura Carson) and both projects feature ghosts. Before we look at the fun and spooky Halloween art, let’s talk new sale!

House Of Ghosts
When thinking about projects for this Halloween season, I realized that in the hundreds of Halloween pieces I’ve made, none of them are Ghost themed so I’ve rectified that with 2 ghost themed projects and new ghostly image sets.
On the edge of Grimsley Village is crumbling brick house. It’s had many residents during its life; some of which have died and now haunt the house.
The house is crumbling with piles of bricks blocking the door and holes in the roof…
I love all the distressing Laura did (and tearing away parts of the roof and walls). And the faux metal patina on that Bat Border on top of the roof is so pretty and rich!

Ghost Queen is mesmerizing and breathtaking! My favorite part of her tutorial is how to make accordion fold books! I love learning new ways to make books and Laura is a wonderful teacher! TFS!

Spooktacular! I love reading on Lauras blog on how to make the crumbling brick wall. I will be using that idea on future projects.

Both projects above are interesting! I also like how she did the bricks. As for future architectural ideas, how about adding quarter scale things to your inventory??? That scale is quite popular now. Congrats to Lisa R!!

I found elements in both that remind me of my last trip to NOLA where I visited a haunted plantation. I’d love to add a column or two or three along with the trim.

I love how Laura printed the ghosts directly onto the papers for the Ghost Queen book. And I love how she cut out some bricks on the Ghost House to make it look even more spooky and rundown! Love both projects!
This project is fantastic! So much creativity! I can feel so much fun when designing and making this. The options are endless when adding your own spin to this spooky project.
I personally would add old ivy trailing all around this spooky house. Also spider webs thick and thin all over placed properly within and out of Windows, tangled throughout outside foliage and debris.

Incredible inspiration
Hi everyone. I am brand new to crafting but the bug has bitten hard. I just discovered this amazing site. What inspiration you provide! Laura’s tutorial was so full of gorgeous images and ideas that I don’t know where to start. I can’t wait to let my imagination run wild. Thank you for all the information.
Wonderful spooky haunted house! The details are incredible and just so much to look at. I really enjoy looking at the creativity that Laura employs in ALL her wonderful projects!!!
I really like Laura’s work, but her Halloween themed projects are my favorites. I love the idea of printing the ghost images onto transparencies or velum for a layered look. The cutaway brick technique is one I will definitely use in the future too. And the crown is lovely.
The House of Ghosts is wonderful, as is the story of the inhabitants. I especially liked the tutorial about the bricks & roof……both things I will use on future projects. So inspirational, thank you Laura!

I would love to see some future architectural trim that would allow the houses to be converted to a Victorian Christmas theme or a gingerbread house.

It’s funny how relatively simple things become mine blowing when someone points it out. Most of Lauras’s work is mind blowing to me… But in this case printing ghosts on transparencies just left me here with my mouth hanging open! Good Lord! It’s simple and the effect blew me away! I also love all of the distressing Laura does to the chipboard elements like the pieces above the windows and makes it look more substantial than just paper or chipboard. It looks like a wood structure! Once again, Laura hits a homerun… Does this woman ever run out of creativity?
I so admire Laura Carson and her ingenious creativity. I love all her tutorials. I really love how the ghosts looks printed on vellum against the collage sheets. What a clever idea. I also like the glitter effect on the trees. I made all her little spell books last year. They are displayed in my office each Halloween. I hope I get to make this one as well.
I love Laura’s work; all her tutorials are extremely helpful. I used her accordion book fold instructions to create a small accordion fold book to fit in a tin and helped my granddaughter make one too. Thanks!

I love the idea of printing semi transparent images on printed papers. I’m going to have to use this either on a similar project or on other projects. I had never thought about printing directly onto my scrapbook papers before and now the ideas are flowing like ghosts through the graveyard.
I really love the house and the stories that go along with it. The crown is really awesome as well, but really the house stories are just great.
I like the idea of writing a poem and then using the mixed media to illustrate it, but I was especially inspired by the Ghost Queen’s crown. I’m going to give it a whirl to make one for a Snow Queen display (that character’s rather ghostly, too). Thank you for another opportunity!
Such a great looking haunted house, Laura! I will use the idea to make individual bricks using brick wall scrapbook paper, and cutting away some of the roof to expose rafters.
Halloween and Christmas are the best holidays for decorating. I love creating haunted houses and witch houses.Would love to win this give away.

I saw these pieces on her blog the other day and was completely blown away! Her use of the icicles and those glitter tress- Oh my! The accordion book tutorial was awesome and I will be using that inspiration in the near future!Happy to say I will be using that tutorial for inspiration on my own book in the near future!oh…I also love the idea of the transparency printout- such a creepy effect!! I love all the architectural elements, and would like to see stairs, weathervanes, and Mary’s great idea of gargoyles.
Although not architectural, (but some old houses had family cemeteries adjacent) I’d like to see some chipboard tombstones and monuments to go with those great cemetery collage sheets. Also maybe a climbing vine to cover the old houses.
