Wow (again)! I love this Spiral Staircase Design Team Member Laura Carson
made from the new Spiral Staircase Kit (and the color palette is so pretty… reminds me of Autumn, which I hope arrives soon as I’m tired of 100 degree heat)!
A worthy addition to Laura’s 2-Story Room Box (and I can’t wait to see how the top floor is decorated in future posts).
From Laura’s blog post:
The staircase starts inside the first floor and spirals up to the front of the second. The staircase design is versatile and can be used outside of the house (as in this example) or inside the house by cutting an opening in the ceiling. For this project, I chose to located the staircase on the outside so that I would have more room for furniture.
There are so many things you can do to add railing. In this example I’ve used wooden table legs as the spindles and cut pieces of wood chair railing as connectors.
You’ll notice 3 more additions to the house on the same blog post: balcony steps, a lighted chandelier, and a spy scope. There’s a small preview of the chandelier at left (and it’s a beauty)! Laura constructed it with Mini String of Fairy Lights and (a zillion) 1 Inch Glass Bugle Beads or Dollhouse Straws, but is much easier to put together than it might look (and Laura has provided a video tutorial to walk you through the process).

More Steampunk: Guest Designer Francine Perri
Take a trip with me under the sea, to swim down with mermaids and find treasures to explore! The Alpha Stamps Guest Designer for August, Francine Perri, started with the Simple 7 Inch x 8.5 Inch Shadowbox as the base for her underwater wonderland.
Using the Articulated Mermaid Doll and the smaller mermaid in the Paper Doll Kit as the focal points, Francine surrounded them with Steampunk Gears (large and small), glittering rhinestones, and pearls. Around the outer edges of the shadowbox is a border made of a mix of Chipboard Gears and the Under the Sea Border, with Etched Chipboard Seashells colored like pearls across the bottom.

What a fabulous staircase and goodies in this giveaway….have a Halloween house that it would look great in!
These stairs have me quivering with delight! I can’t imagine how exciting it would be to actually have them in my hands making them beautiful! *******SWOONING with joy!
Love what Laura did with hers! TFS!
I would add a second story to my witch’s house. Maybe make the top floor her potion palace.
I have no idea at this moment but I know I would come up with something immediately If I won! thank you Laura for all of your inspiration
Wow! These stairs are so cool! So many possibilities. I can vision a secret stairwell in a mad scientist lab
This is perfect for my haunted house!
my spiral staircase would lead to a secret potions room!
I think I’d do a shadowbox of some sort, all dark and creepy for Halloween!
Oh my goodness these stairs are the perfect addition to the SVG and die cut Halloween Village I am building including the Ghostmore Manor Kit!!! I am working on my 7th haunted piece now. I will use the stairs to complete one of the multi-story haunted houses I am building to lead up into a spooky tower. I have to recreate that beautiful chandelier Helena created as well for it.
I’d use the stairs in a halloween house.
I never knew how much I needed that staircase! I love it
WOW!!! I love the stairs-I would use them going down into the dungeon where a secret room is hidden. Love Laura’s take. She did a awesome job painting them-they look so real. >^..^<
Stairs to the attic!!
Would like to have the staircase in my house!
I would love to add this to my Halloween miniature house! It has two stories so it would be perfect! I would try to add little bones to hold the railing – make it spookier!
What a wonderful staircase…so many possibilities!
I could see the as a library stairs to access books on a two level room box.
Not sure what I would make with that staircase…might have to make something that the staircase is the center of…it is wonderful!
I’ll have to make a “Widow’s Walk” to the top of my little lighthouse, so my widow can gaze out upon the open sea longing for her long-lost love to return to her aching arms. Weeeeeeee
I can see myself making a wicked haunted castle with the 2-story house, and then naturally using the steps to connect the the top floor to the dungeon !!! I would cut a hole in top floor and create a trap door to conceal the steps!!!
Hi Leslie,
My ultimate favorite ghastly holiday, HALLOWEEN, since I was a young child.
The staircase would be climbing up to the ghostly lighthouse look out.On each step I would have a small glass bottle filled with bat wings etc.. The bones would be a nice addition to the staircase as well. The bronze piece would be a the top of the lighthouse inspiring all ghostly trick or treater’s to come to the haunted lighthouse. Laura is a magical creator.
Thank you for the great blog and store items.
This would look awesome in my haunted house or maybe in a New Orleans themed room box!
The spiral staircase is the cutest ever! I am going to order one for a haunted house
I’d make a Halloween themed haunted house with the spiral staircase. What a great item.
Holy Cow!! I have never seen stairs like that SOOO cool!Love all things Tim for Halloween! A lovely collection!
I love Laura’s Steampunk house and the staircase is a fabulous addition. I would use the staircase in some miniature house or roombox. I am really into miniatures these days. (thanks to you Leslie! LOL)
This staircase would look great in a haunted house.
I’m imagining a couple of sparkly dressed skeletons posed on this awesome Spiral Staircase Kit! Thanks for this great opportunity!
Indeed, the staircase is just fabulous. I would do something Halloween with it. Thanks for making this available.
For me it would be for a steampunk fairy princess in a paper mache french chateau that I’m about to start work on. I’m going to be using foam board, wire and mulberry paper to make my chateau but you never know it could end up a castle like the beautiful palace of Versailles or Waddesdon manor that always looks like its made out of icing sugar. I think it would be put to good use what ever it ends up like 🙂
My delight would be to win this staircase…it looks like one in my home and I would create some interesting pictures with it….
I’d definitely have to make a spiral staircase for a spooky house!
The staircase and the ephemera would be just the ticket for my niece’s Halloween gift. She and her three daughters and three granddaughters are Halloween freaks!
Love to make a Steampunk theme Romeo and Juliet.
Wow! Amazing stairs. I’d use them for my tow story witch’s cottage on the inside.
Love the staircase! Maybe a New Orleans voodoo house?
Halloween is my favorite Holiday. I could walk the spiral staircase up and up and up and up and up…..
I am so ready to start Halloween crafts. I think the staircase would be a great central piece for a spooky house.
I’m thinking a spiral staircase in like a laboratory….beakers, potions etc
What would I do? Well I would immediately buy the two story house box and then I would be in Steampunk heaven! This stairs are so cool!
i like the idea of stairs to the attic.
Stairway to heaven.
OMG! I LOVE that staircase!!! I would use that in my bookshop that I have planned. Love how Laura finished her version of the stairs. Awesome!
Love the stairs! Not sure just yet where they need to be!
I’d love to make a 2-story Halloween Party House! Great Staircase!
LOVE Tim Holtz ephemera packs…
I would acctually use these stairs to store my reinking bottles. I am envisioning mounting it to some black foam core and getting some fabulously fun, functional, funky storage!
I’m in the process of making Laura’s Steamtown house so I definitely would use the spiel staircase for my housse. love the silver bird skulls.
I would make a mystical, enchanted fairytale stairway to the stars!
I would use the staircase for a descent into a spooky dungeon!
I just love the staircase. It would be wonderful to design something for Christmas.
The spiral staircase would be perfect if you could make it a little rickety and put in in a scary house. Perfect!
