Bee Bottles & The Wolf at the Door

Note: most of the links on this post no longer work, as we moved to a new Web site in 2018. However, you can see the supply list items from Bella’s project that are still available on the new site.

More Bees? ! know! All the projects Laura made in her last bee extravaganza were fab, and she has even more in store! Before I hand over this introduction to Miz Bella (Kim Ayers), I want to note that Miz Bella herself also has a fabulous project today! (Truly amazing as poor Bella is down with the flu!) And I also want to mention the New Bits & Books FREE Gift Kit! Plus, don’t forget to enter TWO new Giveaways (more info below)!

It seems, Dear Readers, that Miz Laura Carson hasn’t quit with her buzzing around like a bee drunk off of its own honey. We have even more beautiful projects from her with a bee theme!

Take a look at the altered bee bottle (at right) that would be perfect to use as harvest and Fall decor (made with one of the New and On Sale! Honey Bee Glass Bottles). Don’t go getting all freaked out that you couldn’t replicate it — because Laura takes you through it step by step and it is bee-yond easy. Yeah, horrible pun but it’s the fever I have talking not me!

I love the bee skep topper. I’m not going to tell you how to make it, my fever won’t allow it. However! Once you see how it is made couldn’t you see making some too cute bee skep ornies out of them as well? Embellished and hanging off of a garland, dangling from the center center of a Fall wreath or hanging off an autumn tree would look just fab.

Next up are TWO mason jar toppers! Both of them use images from her Bees Collage Sheet on the top of the lids (toppers).

And how cute is that little mobile hanging inside (hooked to the underside of the lid)! And the jar lights up (with an LED Tea Light inside)!

Follow Laura’s tutorial and make your own bee themed jar or go a step further and change it up a bit for Halloween or any holiday you’d like. It would look pretty cute right smack in the middle if your kitchen window or the middle if your dining room table.

Ok. Leslie taking over again. Wow! I love all the dark red and green in Bella’s Little Red Riding Hood House (Christmas colors but not Christmasy at all!)

Bella started with one of the New and On Sale! Personal House Shrine Kits. Then she noticed the happy accident that the width of the house exactly matches the width of the Small Paper Mache Books. So she attached a book to the back of her shrine and created a storybook house (see the book on the back of the house at right). Clever!

Bella explains, “I put the house on a Candlestick Holder. Then glued the paper mache book to the back of the house so that bottom of book was flush with bottom of candlestick. The candlestick is what holds everything up.”

Take a peek at Miz Bella’s Supply List and then scroll down for more inspiration and to enter the Giveaways! And don’t forget the new Bits & Books FREE Gift Kit (with pages from an antique Brothers’ Grimm book)!
