No Time to Spare – Make A Stick Pin!

Filed under Art Projects, Beads, Bella's Corner, Laura Carson, Tutorials

Looking to make a quick adornment for a hat, sweater or even piece of artwork you’re working on? Perhaps it just needs a little extra something — so whip yourself up a stick pin (with your own custom color palette) in no time at all!

Design Your Own Stick Pin with an On Sale! silver-plated brass stick pin with a loop (for adding a dangling charm or tassel). It is 2-1/2″ long (plenty long to stack up some beads)!

Inspired by Laura’s Days Gone By ATC with a Crystal Stick Pin, large photo at far right, Laura created a tutorial for making your own stick pin (with some hints on how to keep the beads in place).

See more ATCs from that series on this earlier blog post.

That stick pin at right includes a 6mm Filigree Bead stacked on the pin. And here are links to the beads in the stick pin examples shown below:
10mm Faceted, Fire-Polished Glass Beads
Rhinestone Rondelles
Antique Silver Swirl Oval Ornament Bead (and these Fancy Oval Beads in silver or gold would be a good alternative, too)
Fancy Star Bead Caps
Tiny Round Crown
and, of course, the Design Your Own Stick Pin silver pin itself.

(And Laura colored that pin at far right with Gold Alcohol Ink.)
