ATC Armoire Tutorial by Laura Carson (Part 1)
Filed under Art Projects, Bella's Corner, Design Team, Tutorials
Get ready everyone! Miz Laura Carson has been busy, busy in her studio and has created a gorgeous (and quite amazing) ATC Armoire from a cigar box! (What a great idea… a little home to house ATCs and other small pieces of artwork.)
Love the ATC Armoire? (Armoires, actually!) You do?! Laura is also going to show us how to make one of our own! Since this IS a Laura Carson art project you already KNOW that you’re going to need to get all of your supplies together before you start.
The first part of Laura’s video tutorial covers the key supplies you’ll need for the project as well as the options to consider. Part one also encourages you to decide on your own theme, dig through your stash, collect your supplies and get ready to create your own Armoire! I won’t list everything that you will need, but here is a sneak peak of what you’ll want to start gathering up:
New! Mini Wire Clothes Hangers
Mini Wooden Coat Hangers
New! Mini Wooden Clothes Pins
New! Butterfly Hinges
New! Wooden Knobs (could be used as feet or knobs)
Egg Cups (as feet)
Foundation Box Feet (hey… more feet)
AND, if you were to make an armoire with a similar French style (like the top example above), Laura has designed a New! Tick Tock Collage Sheet (that includes lots of clocks — as you’d imagine — but also two facades for the top of your armoire!)
And (there’s more?) if you get on over to Leslie’s blog post (also dated today), there’s a Giveaway including that new collage sheet!
Speaking of clocks, did you notice those Junkyard Findings – Clock Faces (new in last Sunday’s newsletter?) Really great designs — and used in Laura’s sample armoire (and the metal clock faces coordinate well with the images of clocks in Laura’s new collage sheet)…
What will your theme be? French? Gothic? Sweet? Sassy? Or?! You know we are going to want to see what you come up with! Email your pictures here and we’ll post them on the Alpha Stamps Blog!
So it doesn’t get lost: link to Laura’s video tutorial (part 1: gathering your supplies…. I can’t wait for part 2!)
