Boneyard Bash, New Shadowbox & Spooky Cameos

October this week?! Wow, it really is time for a Boneyard Bash!
This new shadowbox (and an avalanche of new cabs & settings) were inspired by Design Team Member Shannon Cooper’s Boneyard Bash (more info on her art is below)… with shallow “rooms” inside (1-3/8″ deep), a big cover with windows and a door, and an attic with a peaked roof. There’s also a new matching set of window frames (shown in the photo at right… also showing how the front/cover can be flipped so the door is on the other side).
Hm… this would make a great little holiday scene, too. (Maybe wrapping gifts upstairs and a tree downstairs? Or just a festive storefront with lots of sweet treats or decorations for sale view through the windows?)
Back to the holiday at hand: one of the many options for decorating the attic is at right (this combo is a Medusa cab with a scalloped setting).

Boneyard Bash by Shannon Cooper
What a great project! You can see why I designed the new shadowbox to help recreate such fun. Note: I added some (creative) substitutes for supplies no longer available (down in the sale section). But first… an intro from Shannon:
A cemetery project has been gnawing at me… creepy spider baby with glowy eyeballs, undead children, haunted house, suspicious things in the windows…that’s what I’m coffin about.
Oooh, spooky twins behind a wrought iron fence! My favorite! Is it just me, or is there a moustache on the girl behind the tree?
There is something thrilling going on inside the haunted house. It’s a Boneyard Bash! They are having a hair-raising good time. The inside of the house is pretty simple; all of the party goers came from collage sheets!
See that wide photo below for a preview of all the revelry inside! The shallow shadowbox is perfect for layered paper collage (though it is deep enough for some 1″-ish deep props, too).

New Spooky Cabs & Settings!
The images for all FOUR of the spooky cameos below are from the new Witchy Halloween Oval Cabs Half Sheet shown at right! I aimed for simpler images (even at the larger 40x30mm size) to mimic the simple bat cameo in the attic of Shannon’s haunted house. A mix of tall and wide images from witches themselves to skulls, poison, owls, the moon, and a lovely “Hallowe’en” script from a vintage book. (All the images are also included at 25x18mm size on the collage sheet, too.)
