Out in the Garden by Shannon Cooper; Garden Minis on Sale!

Filed under Art Projects, Fairy Garden, Flowers, Giveaways, Miniatures, Sale, Shannon Cooper

I adore this colorful, flower-filled scene by Design Team Member Shannon Cooper! Good thing for both of us: I’ve zoomed in on different sections to highlight items (and a couple tutorials included in Shannon’s blog post!) so we can walk through this more slowly.

Note: beside cute (tiny!) plants that Shannon used (many new today!) she also made some plants using tiny leaf and heart-shaped paper punches!

Let’s start with a bit from Shannon’s blog post:
It would be pretty sweet if I were a gardener capable of growing beautiful flowers and plants for bees and butterflies to enjoy, but alas! most everything I’ve planted has kicked the bucket. Relying on Mother Nature to water everything during the whole of allergy season probably plays into that, but really, the black thumbs are the problem. Instead of killing more flowers, I decided a pollen-free miniature paper garden was a suitable alternative.

I kinda don’t believe that Shannon has a black thumb. But if the trade-off is seeing her paper garden substitute, then I’m happy! Starting my tour with that wide photo above: see that wooden box that Shannon is holding? (See the right side of the photo, plus it’s hiding in the left side too — you can ID it by the pink and yellow “puff ball” plants: those are new today and oh-so-easy to add color to a project!)

The top of that kitchen cabinet (above) is covered in potted plants sitting on white doilies (including another of those puff balls, in purple this time — and in a thimble) plus 3 potted flowers that Shannon made with paper punches! More on her paper punches is below, but 2 of those above are made with Bellflower Mini Punch for flowers and Ivy Leaf Mini Punch for leaves. And note that fern stand on the left side! It’s new today, too. You can see more of the full height in the 2 photos farther above (and that cute wreath Shannon decorated it with).

So many little hand-made plants! See the photo above for a preview of 2 of Shannon’s tutorials:
– Bushy tree with orange flowers in a white pot (made with pieces of a broom as branches)
– The elephant ears on right (close to center of the photo) has a long tutorial on how to make those leaves with a stylus, cardstock and the Small Heart Punch! (Oh, and that 2-tone PINK hydrangea on the foreground of right side? It’s also hand-made and featured in the Giveaway below!)

Beautiful work, Shannon! You can see more photos and read more on her blog post. Plus here’s Shannon’s supply list.

What else is new today? Lots of Plants! And Mini Punches!

Wow! So many tiny things for a miniature spring garden! Note: there’s more new things shown below as part of the flash sale (or in the Giveaway)! And there are even more new things today not shown so click here to see them all.

FLASH SALE on Garden Miniatures!

Ooh! All items tagged Fairy Garden Minis or Flowers & Garden in the Miniatures Section are on sale at 25% off! This includes bunches of new plants announced today and used by Shannon in her artwork! (The first row below are ALL in Shannon’s supply list! And that cute fern in the first column is also new!)

Psst: Anything on clearance in this big group is marked down to 50% off!

The sale ends at midnight PST, MONDAY night, April 13th. See them all here.

Here’s examples of clearance items in the sale (note that since I’ve mixed in the Fairy Garden Minis items, there are some things included that aren’t exactly “garden”).

Pink Hydrangeas Giveaway!

Those are really pink! And adorable! Shannon is holding a Square Wooden Planter with hydrangeas she made using tissue paper (tweezers and a stylus) and the new Set of 3 Hydrangeas Mini Punch. And there’s a nice long tutorial on her blog post!

I’m including both of those items mentioned/linked to above and the Rustic Wheelbarrow! It’s a wee thing (just 1-3/4″ tall) but has many plants sitting in it, as they are 1:12 scale. See below for photos of all 3 items in the Giveaway drawing.

To enter the Pink Hydrangeas Giveaway drawing all you have to do is leave a comment BELOW on this blog post TODAY or TOMORROW (the deadline is 11:59 pm PST, MONDAY Night, April 13, 2020).

What would you make with those 3 items? Would you use them all in 1 project?

Don’t forget to leave your (hello!) correct email address, too, so I can contact the winner; your email address does not need to be made public. Note: I’m offering free shipping, too, but only within the USA. International shipping will still apply.

Please be patient! Spammers try to post crap here a lot so comments are moderated. So if you don’t see your post in the comments section, be patient and check back in a few hours before re-posting it, please!

After midnight, I’ll randomly pick the winner (via Random.org).

Oh! The Cracked Mirror Giveaway winner from the last newsletter! Drum roll, please: The winner is Denise Bryant! Denise commented: “Very cool project! I’d love to make a black cat/Halloween scene!” Please check your email for more information.
