New Shrine Facade, New Resin Cakes; Miniature Food & Bev Sale!

Having Tea by Design Team Member Els Schutte

I know… just when I’m all sad and think we’ve used up all the art samples for the Alice theme, the Design Team surprises me!

I love how this project turned out! So pretty in all its shabby-chic whiteness (and buried under that paint are some very bright red mushrooms, to give you a hint of all the paint sloshed about — and how tiny this shadowbox is).

Els used the new Alice Tea Party Square Shrine Facade: a facade made to be used with either the Open Front 4.5 x 5.5 Shadowbox or Deep Open Front 4.5 x 5.5 Shadowbox (the one Els used).

As you can see, the effect is similar to the Square Shrine Shadowbox, except the silhouetted characters will stick up above the shadowbox.

The characters from the Tenniel’s Alice Collage Sheet are perfect for this scene! Beside being just plain lovely illustrations, the faded Victorian images of Alice and the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party table add a subtle splash of color (and see below for a couple close-ups).

The addition of some chipboard bits cut out from the Alice Altoids Tin Insert Frames (like the Cheshire cat in the top left corner, plus mushroom silhouettes on both bottom corners) are just the right size (and finishing touches).

Here’s the short and sweet supply list for this project. AND see the Giveaway below for another Alice project by Els!

Mad Hatter Hat Giveaway!

Are you ready for this?! The second project by Els today (which nicely ties in with the new resin cakes AND the Miniature Food Flash Sale) is a wonderful Mad Hatter Hat!

Els includes a tutorial on her blog post, not only covering putting the hat together, but also parts of the project like the highlight pics shown below:
– A “before and after” photo showing how she used Altoids Topper Loopy Filigree as legs on the table (!)
– Preparing her table props, like adding tiny slices of polymer cane hearts on her dishes
– Adding the open accordion book of tiny cards over the hat

So, in honor of this busy (appropriately “mad”) scene, I’m including these goodies Els used (note: a separate supply list than the shadowbox above):

1 Inch Playing Card Deck (all over the place!)
Matchbox Ticket Journal – Black (accordion book over the hat)
Altoids Topper Loopy Filigree – Set of 2 (table legs)
Black & Ivory Harlequin Diamond Scrapbook Paper (table cloth)
– Both of the Polymer Cane Hearts
ALL FOUR of the resin cakes!

Bonus:
ALL THREE of the NEW resin cakes!
and
Simple Cups & Saucers Set – Set of 12 (substitute for the dishes on the table top… and a ton of them, at that!)
