Over the Summer Sea by Laura Carson, New Goodies & Clearance Sale!
Filed under Art Projects, Collage Sheets, Giveaways, Laura Carson, Newsletters, Sale, Vacation Memories Kit
There is so much to cover today, I’m jumping right in.
First, another inventive project using the July kit; this time by Design Team Member Laura Carson.
Laura made the new Over the Summer Sea Collage Sheet (to coordinate with the Seaside Victorian Children Collage Sheet that’s also in the kit). She used images from both collage sheets for the inside of the small box and also the children standing in the middle.
Note: she made the children double-sided, so they can be viewed from any angle. Clever!
I love the seashells that Laura cast from the 7 Seashells Silicone Mold (around the box top, mixed with other buttons & real shells & metal shell charms). And she matched the vintage colors from the Beach and Shore Backdrops Collage Sheet images she used on the outside of the box. Plus, note the knob she created for the box top, from a brass ship wheel sitting atop a verdigris bead cap.
Beside these photos of Laura’s project, there’s another photo down in the Giveaway section, where you can enter to win lots of supplies from Laura’s supply list! And be sure to visit Laura’s blog for more photos and tips (and a video tutorial on that origami sailboat)!
New Products!
Beside that new collage sheet by Laura, look at that adorably tiny jewelry box! And the tiny keys are just the right size to work in the jewelry box, too! Plus some playing cards perfect for an Alice in Wonderland project…
CLEARANCE SALE!
Wow! Yes, all those lovely items left behind are ready: I’ve put the old site back online, so… the CLEARANCE SALE is on!
The entire site is 50% off!
Note: If there are items in your old wishlist that were moved to the new site, you can still purchase them on the old site but they won’t be on clearance.

Hooray for the Over the Summer Sea Giveaway!
I picked a photo showing the other side of the standing children. Note: everything I’m listing here is included in today’s Giveaway:
– The July kit AND all the collage sheets used in Laura’s project
– All the seashell charms or buttons
Click here to see everything in Laura’s supply list, though “only” the items linked in that last paragraph are in today’s Giveaway. Note: if an item is duplicated in the Vacation Memories Kit (included in the Giveaway) and also listed separately in the supply list, I’m just including one of those items.

After midnight, I’ll randomly pick the winner (via Random.org).
Who won the Florida Memories Giveaway from Thursday’s newsletter? That would be Dennis L! Congrats! Check your email for info.
Love this theme. Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid was a favorite of mine as a kid. I think that I would work an image of the famous sculpture into this piece. Or…I might work in some particulars from Long Beach Island, NJ where I spent many summer vacations. There are many possibilities.
My favorite is the ship. I have worked with polymer clay but am intrigued to try the molds with paperclay.
I love the seashells on the side of the box. What a super fun project.
I love the collage sheet, the beautiful ship is my favorite. I live on the beach so I would use all of the beauty that I collect when it comes to shore.
I think that I would even put some of my smaller collected sea findings inside the box to keep them safe & what a fun way to make a discovery.
I love the way Laura made the knob on the top using a ships wheel charm! Very cool!
I love the collage sheet and the way she had the box open to find out what was inside
My favorite is the ships wheel and of course the ship. As I have said in the past I love everything nautical.
I love this kit, I am getting ready to play with this kit today. I love Laura’s use of shells and creating the double sided images. This is going to be fun!
Love the sea shells!
Ship Steering Wheel! I’ll use it to steer my little grandbaby to treasures we’ll collect by the ocean! Thank you
I love the background images used on the outside of the box, especially the ship.
The images of the children are beautiful.
Adorable box and anything nautical has to be a great idea!
Laura I just love your creative use of all the items to create a stunning seaside memory explosion 😁❤️
I might put the mermaid inside the box 😁❤️
I love the beautiful papers & all the fun shells!
I love exploding boxes! So many possibilities. I love the knob Laura made to take the lid off and the middle scene in the box. So much fun!
Anything Laura creates…I love, most of all the adorable children in this project
First, I love all things miniature AND I love boxes AND I love the ocean, so this is PERFECTION! Though I do love the tiny shells, I have access to real teeny-tiny shells, so my favorite part of the whole thing are the images on the box. They are wonderful and SO detailed for something so small!
Victorian, I am drawn to anything Victorian! I think all the little seashells everywhere on the box are just beautiful… I lived near the Pacific as a kid and had screeds of shells collected back then. Memories.
The new collage sheets are beautiful. My favorite part of Laura’s box is the origami boat, very clever!
I can’t wait to get my exploding boxes!
The outside of the box has such a wonderful old-style nautical charm about it. The brass ship steer wheel on top of the flying sea gull, the sailing ships and the sea shells are my favorite things.
The nostalgic sea side images are fabulous!
I love these fold-out boxes! So many ideas for them!
I love the sea gull paper used on the top. Just gorgeous. Love the explosion box idea and would have a picnic inside of mine. Can’t have summer without family picnics!
Love the sea shells!
The children standing in the middle & that she made the children double-sided, so they can be viewed from any angle.
I like the shells
Congrats Dennis! Love the exploding boxes, the double sided children and the beautiful papers. Thanks for a chance to win.
I love the exploding box. I also love the seashore children theme. I collect shells that I use in projects and this idea is made for them.
Love all the ways the exploding box can be used!
Love the vintage children faces.
I love the Victorian children. The paper boat is so cute.
I am in love with the Victorian children and little sailboat!
I love the double sided Children, what an awesome idea!
I love everything to do with the sea. I’d do a Coney Island theme, I was just there last Friday 🙂
This is such wonderful inspiration! Love all the ideas, the nautical theme and the charms!!!
