Note: most of the links on this post no longer work, as we moved to a new Web site in 2018. However, you can see the supply list items from Nichola’s project that are still available on the new site.
A new sale! EVERYTHING in the 1:12 Scale Can & Bottle Blanks section is on sale for 25% off!
The sale ends Monday night, July 10th!
That includes bottles Teri Calia used in her Pocket Grimoire last Sunday! Like the White Resin Condiment Bottle, Amber Resin Potions Bottle and Miniature Tequila Bottle shown at left.
And the sale also includes a new quart bottle announced today (photo & info below)!
Oh! I love the beautiful sepia and turquoise palette (and the whole shrine!) that Design Team Member Nichola Battilana made with the Arched Shrine Shadowbox!
From the story on Nichola’s blog post:
Once upon a time a gentleman dove deep, deep, deep under the sea.
Where he met his true love.
Her frock covered all of her mermaiden parts so he did not know if she she had a swishy fishy tale beneath her skirts. And she refused to show him. She was a lady after all!
They married under the sea horse arch with glittery shells and baubles…
I’m going to jump in here and explain a few things Nichola used AND NOTE: everything in Nichola’s supply list is included in today’s Giveaway!
– Orange Petals & Wood Planks Scrapbook Paper (you may not have guessed that the back side with the whitewashed planks is the paper on the inside of the shrine)
– Mini Steampunk Seahorse – Set of 2 (they look so beautiful colored light turquoise and covered in crystal glitter!)
– Seashells in Plastic Tin (also looking lovely and jewel-like with tons of glitter added… see the close-up on bottom right)
And, of course, the Arched Shrine Shadowbox and Stairstep Shrine Base that are the structure for the shrine.

I would make something similar to what Nichola did. It’s fabulous!
I would make a magical underwater mermaid palace!
Love the mermaid tale! I would make a Hallowern mermaid I think.
I love anything mermaid.Oh the things I would make!
Just love this one! So imaginative and clever. I can use many of these items in an already created vignette I’ve made in a large shell dish.
Love the color blue and the ocean is where I go every time I have the chance. This is pretty!
This is awesome!! It’s like the couple reunited after their untimely deaths! so cool
What beautiful color & texture! I’ve been dreaming up ideas for a shadowbox or shrine to showcase a mermaid-inspired Lover’s Eye Token I made in a class with Theresa Martin, and this has been such an inspiration.
I would do something very similar. Its so pretty.
Jules Verne meets long lost love and they live happily ever after under the sea. Love the seahorses.
I would love to make an entire little shrine-town. I love Nicholas work always and these little cupboard shrine are so cute. And they are very pocketbook friendly too. Love the current mermaid theme!
Love the sparkliness! This would go great in the beach dollhouse I want to build! Especially LOVE the seahorses!
What a fun project to see today – it is raining cats and dogs outside as I sit here! Hmmm, cats and dogs? That gives me an idea!
Living by the ocean, I am always plucking bits of driftwood and tiny shells. PLUS, I pluck the mermaid tears formed from polished glass shards. All of these doodads and more will find a home in my seashore altar! Thank you
I’s like to try making a shrine for a whole family of merfolk. Wondering about the pets though….
An underwater beauty and the beast, although the beast is a handsome seahorse. Lots of ideas.
Love the colors. Would be underwater love for me!
Such a lovely tail. I would go Little Mermaid for my new granddaughter.
I think the mermaid would be the centerpiece at dinner.
Mermaid under the sea garden party!
Wow, this is a wonderful shrine from Nichola! Just love the diver and victorian lady with the shell hat. It would be another tale of underwater love!! Thanks for the chance to win this fabulous prize.
Such a cute idea from Nichola she has such great ideas. I always enjoy her creations. >^..^<
I love the underwater theme, but I think I would make something more Halloween themed or maybe a Bast or Sekhmet shrine. Now that I think of it, a steampunk kitty goddess shrine sounds really fun.
I am still going with my trapped mermaid scene! Maybe there is a space alien from an underwater space station that is part of her capture team, or is he there to rescue her? Only giving me the chance to create this scene will provide the answers to these questions! TFS!

I think I might make the seahorses the stars of the shrine
Love the scene. But maybe instead of people, I’d make a shrine of beautiful flowing jellyfish
This story made me giggle! I would love a steam punk mermaid theme.
The tale of underwater love is fabulous! I’d go with that idea.
I’d make some sort of underwater scene maybe with a mermaid.
Definitely a mermaid playground! This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing
Would definitely do something Halloween themed.
Still want a steampunk mermaid, but will add the cool diver.
I love mermaids!! A mermaid palace would be fun to make!
Definitely a Merfolk scene of some sort. Maybe the darker version seen in the HP movies?
Truly a magical summer time creation by Nichola!!I just love everything about this- Bravo!!
Jackie xx
Love the underwater love scene but perhaps use Seahorse and octopus
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The colors are so cool!
Underwater love. This is beautiful!
Love the underwater theme! Maybe some underwater love?
Underwater love works for me!
Definately go with something fishy, the inspiration is too good! Maybe the underwater gentleman chose his suit to marry a lady of KNOWN mermaidness. 😉
I’d make a scene with a mermaid!
I love the underwater love story!!
Mermaids and seahorses! what fun!
Love this shrine..everything about it!
OH I love the diver and his lady, I’d love to make a pair of my own.
