Lover’s Promenade Traveling Theatre

Mardi Gras?! Yes, it’s that time of year!! Easter comes early this year, so of course, Fat Tuesday does, too. Design Team Member Laura Carson has created a gorgeous, traveling theatre inspired by the Amour Kit.
For the base of her theatre, Laura used and Open Front Shadowbox and a Cirque Theatre Shadowbox Facade.
“Once the Open Front Shadowbox was put together I used decorative paper to cover the outside of the shadowbox. On the inside, I added the background scenery from the French Fairies Shadowbox Facade Collage Sheet.
“So they would be more sturdy, I backed the characters from the new Mini Regency Fashion Collage Sheet with heavy cardstock and attached the characters to the back wall of the shadowbox. To make it appear as if the characters were at different distances in the theatre, I used pop up Glue Dots.
“Images from the Gatefold Shrine Curtains collage sheet to create a skirt for the stage. I thought that the skirt gave the piece more height and provided a place to attach the wheels.
“The side, faux door frames come from the Antique Frames Digital Set Download. You’ll notice I used the same image in the background as I used for the background in the shadowbox. The couples on the doors are from Days Gone By Collage Sheet (and/or the Download Set). To adorn the theatre 3 sets of white feathers were then colored with Inca Gold Gilders Paste; using my fingers to apply the paste to the feathers. The feathers add a nice touch to the theatre and give it just a little extra oomph!”

I’m thinking of perhaps a fairy traveling theater? Not too certain of that yet, but I am certain I’ll find something fabulous to do either way!

This is great! I would make a scene of pride and prejudice.
I would make a medieval theatre wagon!
I would stick to my Fairy theme and do a traveling Fairy show that will teach the fine art of being a Fairy to the younger fairies! A few trolls may have to make a guest appearance to show that Fairies and Trolls CAN get along!! So much fun packed into a little traveling box!
Thinking ahead to Halloween I think. Maybe a small production of the Raven…

I think I’d make a gypsy traveling show, I would turn the shadow box into a gypsy wagon… with lots of extra’s to boot.
The traveling theater that you created is beautiful, however I would love to make a traveling circus theater. I have all the animals and circus creatures that fit perfectly in these little boxes. All I need to do is allow my imagination to run wild.

Laura’s creativity is beyond words. She’s at the top of my most
favorite artists list! Since I am a Downton Abbey fan, I think it would
be a tribute to the show to make a Downton Theatre — I don’t believe
that Julian Fellowes has taken the cast to the theatre yet! How exquisite! Would love to win this!!!
What a wonderful traveling theater project – I like it so much that creating something similar would be fun. However, I am always looking for fairy projects and this is certainly a candidate for some kind of fairy fashion show!

It was a fantasy of mine for the longest time to BE in a travelling theatre like this! With this lovely set of treasures I could make my own, full of mysterious French dancers and Venetian conjurers, roaming the English countryside in Thomas Hardy country!

Love the Regency fashions but not sure how to connect to theater. May fall back on a Circus theme
A regency Cinderella? But nothing in the kit looks like a pumpkin so I’d have to be creative. If I look at Laura’s carriage long enough maybe some of her creativity will be absorbed by osmosis? What a wonderful project this would be.

This is so beautiful!!! What a work of art! I would love to make a whole traveling theatre themed in vintage Venetian Mardi Gras ! Use the fabulous sheets with the masked people, add other masked creatures! Would want to make it very satiny and crystal studded!

The gorgeous blue curtains somehow remind me of Sleeping Beauty. Therefore, it would be a travelling performance of that story.
