Shiny New Trims! A Venetian Theatre & Carnival Masks

It’s almost Mardi Gras, which inspired me to source some bright & shiny trims. And to revisit a Venetian Theatre and some beautiful Carnival Masks (and I also created a sale collection from the supplies from both — and all of today’s new or back-in-stock supplies)!

A Venetian Theatre by Nichola Battilana
Isn’t Nichola’s Venetian Theatre lovely?
Her ode to Venice starts with a back in stock Small Paper Theatre Box then uses images from the Ships and Waves Backdrops and The Canals Collage Sheets (and I love all the depth with multiple layers of curtains and waves).
Of course you know I LOVE the Arlecchina jumping jack on either side of the theatre from the Pierrette Collage Sheet! I also love how Nichola rearranged bits of the Toy Paper Theatres Collage Sheet (plus some pleated paper and Dresden) to make her fancy header.

A Parade of Masks by Caroline Ouzts-Hay
On to more artwork! Design Team Member Caroline Ouzts-Hay has created a trio of masks with the back in stock large mask sets. (Just showing 2 of her 3 creations here, but check out Caroline’s blog for lots more photos and details.)
My artwork suffers from a mild case of multiple personality disorder, so I’ve made not one mask but three.
I went to town with the liquid pearls on this one. So scrumptious! To get a more even colored look I painted the chipboard diamonds & feathers before applying the liquid pearl in coordinating colors. so the chipboard brown wouldn’t show through.
(On the pink and black mask) the silver bit at the top is a decorative metal piece that I coated in silver gilding flakes.
I love the crushed pale mulberry paper roses, pearl fringe, and Caroline’s use of more of the chipboard feathers.
