NEW Spring Tea Artwork, Garden Creatures & 25% off SALE!
Filed under Flowers, Rhonda Secrist Thomas
What a pretty group of decorated vintage china, perfect for a centerpiece at a Mother’s Day feast!
Here’s a bit of the text from Rhonda Secrist’s blog post to get us started:
I have come to a point in life where I have so many things that I’ve inherited, that I keep lovingly protected in a cabinet. What if something were to happen and I accidently broke it? I got to thinking, why? Some of these items I’ve been told stories about, like my mom’s mother and grandmother, and my father’s mother and grandmother’s china. It finally occurred to me, why not use these items as a base for some artwork? I think it was a brilliant idea and hopefully I will inspire you to do the same.
I began by stuffing a bit of wadded paper into each cup and the pot. Then I used a variety of greenery including Light Green Turf Gound Cover, Mini Spring Leaves, Course Turf – Olive Green, and the most useful for full coverage was the Variegated Green Vines.
Read more (and see tons more photos) on Rhonda’s blog post. Here’s her supply list (all in today’s sale, too)! Now on to my close-ups of a few creatures…
Starting with that collage sheet at right AND that squirrel on the right side of the photo below. I love the little creatures Rhonda fussy-cut from collage sheets and nestled into the greenery.
Moving to the center image (the teapot lid): There’s a sweet owl perched on top, plus 2cm pink roses and 2 sizes of purple roses: tiny dark plum plus 1 bloom from a larger set — also on the top of the teapot (another photo below).
Finally to the left image: a playful squirrel with some larger violet blooms (and a nest… more info below about those ingenious eggs).

Wow! That close-up of the bunny scene inside the teapot is so colorful and cute! Starting with the new Large White Rabbit (also at right) and the new Mixed Pink Roses (nice to have some larger roses to mix in with the smaller ones).
At the feet of the larger rabbit are 3 tiny rabbits, on a bed of violet mini blossoms. And behind the rabbits is an absolute riot of pink and purple roses!
Beautiful work, Rhonda!

Note: the turtles at right are new, and the first row of flowers/hedgehogs below are either new or back in stock.
Psst… beside the TEN shown here, there are some more highlights of the extras (that are also on clearance!) below in the sale section.
