Cookie Houses and Hot Cocoa Bar; New SALE & FREE Xmas Candy!
Filed under Christmas, Guest Designers, Market Stall, Miniatures
We’re continuing our Christmas in July Sale this week with a candy-filled miniature Cookie Houses and Hot Cocoa Bar by Connie Littell!
I’ve pulled together a Minty Candy Canes Gift Kit to get you started filling tiny jars (or decorating gingerbread houses)! Beside the Minty Cool Christmas Polymer Clay Slice Mix (already in Connie’s supplies), I added 3 more candy canes: a Larger Miniature Candy Cane, a Red & Green Mini Candy Cane, and one of the Peppermint Pairs Buttons Set (and added those 3 items to today’s sale, too)!
The gift kits are FREE with all orders placed today through Saturday (ends at midnight July 23, 2022)!
Plus I made a new collection from the BIG supply list from Connie’s project — and put it all on Sale! More info below!
Cookie Houses and Hot Cocoa Bar by Connie Littell!
Wow! I love this busy yet simple Christmas market booth! Is that a thing (“busy yet simple”)? Check the close-ups below as each shelf and the counter is laid out so perfectly that each doesn’t look crowded at all.
There’s sweet pastel Christmas paper that inspired this project, plus lots of candy miniatures, too. Read on as there’s also a new Cookie Houses & Hot Cocoa SALE including everything in Connie’s supplies!
Starting with some text from Connie’s blog post:
“Today I am happy to share with you a project for Alpha Stamps that is seriously one of the most fun I’ve ever made. As someone who works a lot with miniatures, I love it when I have a lot of horizontal space to fill in and the 1:12 Market Stall certainly fits the bill. My vision for the piece was to fill the shelves with as many decorated sugar cookie houses as possible while leaving a spot to also offer hot chocolate with all the mix-ins I could think of. The Sweetest Christmas 12×12 Paper Set was the perfect starting point for this sugared holiday design.
I made decorated sugar cookie houses from 1:12 Gingerbread Houses. After assembling them, I painted them inside and out with pastel colors of acrylic paint.
The houses come with tiny windows. I very carefully separated them from each other with sharp scissors and gave them all a coat of white paint. All of the houses got a few layers of Tiny Scalloped Shingles in a contrasting color.”
You can see the counter in the first close-up photo below: “The front counter features one of the cookie houses, rock candy sticks made from finely chopped polymer clay baked onto flat toothpicks, poly clay marshmallow snowmen mug toppers, chocolate-dipped spoons, microbead candy inside Mini Mason Jars, poly clay cinnamon sticks and a snowman snowglobe made from poly clay and crystal glitter inside a glass dome.”
“The only paper in this project not from the Sweetest Christmas collection is the brown reptile paper I used to cover the front counter. Those adorable hanging mugs are made by gluing reindeers from the Retro Santa & Penguin Tiny Christmas Stickers onto White Coffee Mugs. They were hung from from Mini Brass Coat Hooks.”
I love how each gingerbread house is decorated differently (and more info and a photo preview of Connie’s tutorial is farther below). But first: check out those bottles below! “Some adult mix-ins are needed for grown up hot cocoa. How cute is that Bailey’s bottle? I made the Frangelico from a Tall Amber Resin Syrup Bottle, some printed label images and a bit of embroidery thread. The rum is made by adding a label from the Rum Bottles, Labels & Posters Collage Sheet to a plain wine bottle.”
Oh, my: did you see that tiny Santa Head Mug in the far right corner of the photo above?! Nice job painting him, Connie! I’m also loving the Lollipops inside a square glass jar. Psst: that Minty Cool Christmas Slice Mix below was specially chosen to match the papers in this project!
Thank you, Connie! Such a wonderfully detailed (and fun) project! Here’s everything in Connie’s supply list. And be sure to visit her blog post so you can see how she put everything together (like the tiny house preview below)!
