Tricks and Treats and a CANDY sale!

Does it feel like Halloween yet where you are? It’s still blazing hot here so I’ve got to say no, except for the fabulous Halloween art by the Design Team!
Tricks and Treats Shadowbox by Design Team Member Shannon Cooper
Shannon made TWO projects today! That cute (and tiny) Halloween shadowbox at right and a set of pumpkin pails to hold tiny candy, too!
Hooray, October has arrived! I have been collecting all of my Halloween goodies from Alpha Stamps for weeks and finally sat at the craft table to make a little thing.
It is a sweet 3″ x 4 1/2″ shadowbox with a notched lid that’s stuffed with spooky treats! Inside the shadowbox is a Retro Bottle Brush Tree decorated with Polymer Clay Halloween Slice Mix, a cute Mini Halloween Cake, an altered jack-o-lantern gumball machine, a treat bag loaded with mounds of candy, some ghastly sodas, and a plate of tiny candies.
The gumball machine started out with a red base and a clear globe, but it didn’t quite work with the paper from the Halloween Market and Masquerade Paper Pads. I very, very carefully broke the clear globe off (wear protective eyewear and gloves if you do this!), discarded the glass, and saved the gumballs. To remove the bits of glass from the inside, I used a heat gun to melt the glue before picking out the glass with tweezers. Once it was clean, the base was spray painted black, and I added some stripes with an orange paint pen. The new glass globe was colored with orange and black Sharpies. I filled the inside with only the yellow gumballs before gluing the new jack-o-lantern globe to the base. The witch hat is made from polymer clay.
Great job, Shannon! Amazing all the tiny things that fit in such a tiny shadowbox. Psst: there’s another new project by Shannon using even more candy that’s shown below! And we haven’t even mentioned the Mini Creepy Signpost that’s shown in the photos for both projects!
Here’s Shannon’s supply list (and beside that second little project by Shannon today) you can see more photos and a tutorial in her blog post!
More goodies by Shannon? YES! And a related CANDY sale!
EEEK! These miniature pumpkin pails are soooo cute!
Shannon started with simple Styrofoam balls as the base and covered them with air-dry clay (adding indentations for faces and little holes for a wire handle before the clay dried). Super easy and super cute! Plus the styrofoam inside helps have a place to sit mini candies (and poke sticks from lollipops). See below for a preview of the tutorial on Shannon’s blog.
AND there’s a related SALE on ALL Candy, too!
25% off on over 60 items! Note: this collection includes things like “candy canes” “candy bowls” “candy dish” and “candy jar” so not just candies themselves! And ALL of the polymer clay canes & slices are included, too!
Psst: anything on clearance is marked down to 50% off including new markdowns!
The sale ends MONDAY night, October 5th at midnight PST.
What’s new or back in stock today?
Psst: more CANDY! Plus those tiny sunglasses! (I’ve been waiting for them to be available again for ages!)
