Saturday Morning – a Mini Mod Delight by Shannon Cooper!
Wow! I am amazed by the level of detail (and wit, and ingenuity) in this tiny Saturday Morning scene by Design Team Member Shannon Cooper! It seems mom is away and dad is having beer and donuts? And the kids are obviously running riot as there are tiny Tiddly Winks pieces (and spilled breakfast cereal) on the floor!
Here’s some of the intro text from Shannon’s blog post:
When Leslie shared the Retro TV Kit, I was happier than a kid on Saturday morning. The atomic television, vintage images on the new collage sheets, and the retro mini stencil sheets (eeee!) had me swooning. We discussed Mid-Century Modern, and spindly legs, and of course televisions that teetered precariously on skinny metal carts… yikes.
Well, one thing lead to another and after receiving some super rad new retro coffee tables, I had somehow created an entire miniature mid-century room. Mom must be out and Dad is taking care of the kids because there is no way she’d allow cereal to be eaten on the hassock in front of the TV.
Eek! See that fab TV stand below? Shannon made it! I spy tiny metal casters on the bottom of those legs made from wooden skewers. And knobs on the TV from a recent collage sheet. Plus there’s the cereal box (from the same Saturday Morning Collage Sheet as the Western on the TV). Plus the game box… oh, GAME BOXES! There’s a new collage sheet that’s ALL Game Boxes! Quite silly stuff, like that “Tek-No-Krazy” game shown in the close-up bubble at left.
Beautiful work, Shannon! Everything came out great! I love all the stenciling too, like the cats in the frame, the bookends, the throw pillows (trust me: on the blue couch you can just seen a corner of) and the curtains.
Here’s the expansive supply list and Shannon’s blog post. You can enter the drawing for Shannon’s supplies for the coffee table scene in the Giveaway section below! (But don’t miss the new goodies and details on the Flash Sale between here and there!)

Plus the 3mm Brass Studs are back in stock (used on the bottom of the legs of the coffee table shown in the close-up below (in the Giveaway). There are 10 new items today, so more than the highlights below.

Neat stuff!
Blast from the Past! Shannon’s game night room looks incredible and Covid-19 free? Shannon’s idea of painted and glued needlepoint canvas to the bottom tv shelf is prefect. Simple but ties the whole room together, the stencil curtains and pillows.
Love the vintage look! The little games are a scream!!! Love it!
Looks just like a Saturday morning watching cartoons with my older sister and 4 brothers! what a creatively cute room!
50’s–era of my childhood. Our accent wall was hot pink. And Dad never had a beer on Saturday morning. the rest=spot-on. This miniature is a stroll down memory lane!

the whole scene reminds me of when I was a kid! Love it!
Shannon really outdid herself on this one. Love all the little details. I lived through or should I say, survived, the mid-century home and have no intention to recreate it now in my home. However, I have been having fun with the Saturday Morning TV kit from June. Shannon’s blog gave me some great tips for making miniature scenes. Now off for some Sugar Pops and a good western on the telly.
OMG! This is my childhood!! Love it Shannon!
