Five Shrines by Kristin Batsel!

Filed under Art Projects, Back in Stock, Collage Sheets, Giveaways, Kristin Batsel, Sale

Wow! ALL 5 shrines by Design Team Member Kristin Batsel are so beautiful and colorful! They all use the new Matchbox Shrine Facade Set and 2 of them use the new Loteria Matchbox Shrines Collage Sheet created for those facades.

Here’s an intro from Kristin herself:

I love the bright colors of Mexican folk art, and I love making little shrines, so these new little matchbox shrine facades make me so happy. For the past week or two, I have been busy making shrines. All the bright colors! The fronts are chipboard, while the little niches are (actual) matchboxes. (I have so many extra matches now!)

The first shrine I did was all about Cosmopolitan martinis [see the bright pink one in the trio photo below] so I painted the exterior a bright pink with a red border. It’s embellished with polymer clay limes and pink leaves, and the niche features a miniature Cosmo (a tutorial for making the tiny Cosmo can be found on that page). The small metal Madonna is painted in Cosmo colors, and she’s offering up a slice of lime! This shrine will be the perfect addition to the Cosmo shelf in my kitchen.

Circling back to the large image at right: this image of the Madonna is just so beautiful. It was the first thing I chose for this shrine. I then picked the paint colors to coordinate with the image. Gold Dresden trim and halos work perfectly with this heavenly theme.

Great job, Kristin! Read more (and see more photos — and tips/info on each of the 5 shrines) in Kristin’s blog post and here’s her Supply List. NOTE: that’s the supply list for everything in all 5 shrines; If you want to narrow down by shrine:
Cosmo Time Shrine
Madonna Shrine
Bleeding Heart Shrine
Don’t Mess With The Devil Shrine
I See Corona Virus Shrine

What else is NEW today?

Tons of tiny religious statues and charms and metal roses (both inspired by Kristin’s artwork). Plus the Miniature Cocktail Glasses in that Cosmo Time Shrine are back in stock! See everything new today and see the related Matchboxes Sale below!
