Santa Is Coming – Let’s Bake! by Design Team Member Susan Killam
Aw… this little candy-covered gingerbread house is good enough to eat! Of course, it’s a paper and chipboard house (ok… and polymer clay and resin cookies/cakes and tinsel and tiny white Dresden)!
Here’s some text from Susan’s blog post to get us started:
Hi crafty friends! I know it’s only November, but Santa is coming! At least, he will if you’ve been a good boy or girl. ::nodnod:: So let’s avoid the coal in our stockings, deck the halls, and start our Christmas baking!
This month’s kit is all about sharing the season’s joy and filling our loved one’s tummies. The Christmas Baking Treat Box Kit includes so much to tickle your (virtual) taste buds — from minty candy canes to chocolatey cakes — all the yums without a single calorie!
If you peek through the windows, you can see wee Santa scenes. I used Santa’s from the Tiny Christmas Windows Collage Sheet.
I love the little details Susan used, like:
– The little columns of the Polymer Clay Christmas Candy Slice Mix on the window shutters on both sides of her house
– Adding Red Stickles Glitter to all those dots on the diamond cross-hatched paper on the front of the house (there’s also a close-up below)
Sweet work, Susan!! Go visit Susan’s blog post for more photos and text! And here’s her supply list. Don’t forget to come back to see new products, a new sale, and a Giveaway!!

Oh my – how sweet! Gingerbread house for sure! We used to make houses every year. Hoping to make one this year with my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter.
I’ve been crafting with German scraps since the 60s (yup, I’m that old) and the creative possibilities are endless and always great fun. Love the gingerbread house!

I love these vintage scraps. I have a few tiny cards that were given to my father as a small child in the 1920s…I just love the delicacy of the designs. I’d love to have more scraps that I could use in crafts.

I would use them on the advent calendar that I’m working on
Timely indeed. The circus sheet will be the first used for card making.
Everything is great. I hope I win to put it in my gingerbread house.
I’ve always been intrigued by cutouts, all the way back to paper dolls I used to get from the 5 & dime. Anyway I would make so many Holiday items for my family.
These vintage scraps are a crafter’s delight! I can use them on cards, in shadow boxes, and in journaling. Such fun! So happy that Giveaways are back in time for the holidays!
I could use a Gingerbread theme as part of my holiday decor
These houses are just adorable. I can’t wait to make one (or more).

I would have to make that adorable gingerbread house! Thank you for doing such fun, festive and generous giveaways!
love the vintage scraps. I could sure use the Christmas ones right about now.
I can see a lot of possibilities for the scraps, starting with the birds, and the Santas, and the kittens, and…
Absolutely love the christmas themed cut outs! I use them on altered BINGO cards and having them all in one place is phenomenal!!!!!
I love all of the details and colors!
I love this vintage scrap. My grandmother had a scrap book in the victorian sense of the word, with beautiful bits of German printing and die cutting just like these. She explained to me that *this* is what “scrap” is–nothing to do with either bits of cut-off fabric like in my mother’s scrap bag, and also nothing to do with photographs. I wonder what she would think of our beautiful mixed media work nowadays! I would use these in shrines, shadow-boxes and probably cards as well.
The scraps are so beautiful! I have been making collage gift boxes for gifts and they would be perfect.
The Dresden scraps are awesome. I could do so much with them
These are so charming. I would make something for my Mom.
Oh, the possibilities!! I would love to make an all vintage house for my son! Love this giveaway!!
Making the houses ro hang in the window, actually easy! Lol and fun
I adore German Scraps!! My problem is I can’t part with them!
The gingerbread house with all the cute candy looks really fun to decorate and display! The German scrapes reminds me of when I was in grade school living in Darmstat, Germany! A lot of good childhood memories were made in Germany.
I love using Dresden s raps in my collages cards.
