Summer Sale + Butterfly Art by Daniela Costa
Filed under Art Projects, Butterfly Garden Kit, Daniela Costa, Sale
I know — it’s not even officially summer yet. But I may have gone insane Tuesday (105 degrees here in NoCal) so I’m having a different sale every day now through Monday!
And there’ll be a drawing for a gift certificate every day!
Here’s the dish:
- Today’s sale is All Things French! You can view everything in that group (from paper to charms to collage sheets to rubber stamps)! That entire group of (over 90) mixed items is on sale through midnight tonight (that’s Thursday, June 13, 2019) at 30% off!
- And everyone placing an order of $25 or more today will automatically be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Pretty sweet!
- And check back tomorrow, as there’ll be a different sale! (With a similar gift certificate drawing!)
Note: I’m not going to bombard you with emails for every day of the sale. But do check back now through Monday as there’ll be info on the new sale posted on the home page each day. The Sunday newsletter with new art will be sent as normal.
Reminder: the All Things French sale ends tonight!
OK… on to today’s new eye candy! We have 2 sweet projects (both related to this month’s kit) by Design Team Member Daniela Costa!
Nature’s Love Letters
Here’s a bit from Daniela’s blog post:
For this beautiful project, I used the Wide Letter Box and Wide Accordion Book, plus the gorgeous Butterfly Garden papers along with 2 collage sheets, seam binding and metal bee & butterfly charms.
First I covered the pieces with cardstock and got it assembled, really easy!
On the top of the box, I’ve fussy cut all the butterflies and only adhered the middle down so that the wings would be able to be lifted up.
Covering the chipboard pieces with black cardstock is a great trick for uniting the pieces (colorwise) really quickly. And adhering the butterflies only down the center so the wings can be lifted up is also a good trick. I also like the little pockets Daniela made from scrapbook paper to hold the tags she made (horizontal pockets across the full page width).
Nature’s Letter Wall Hanging
Daniela made a second project, which is a wall hanging (see the photo below). It’s nice to see a different use of the chipboard parts than the book shape they were originally designed as. This project uses the tall version of the accordion book (cut apart and reattached with baker’s twine).
And look at that flurry of butterflies! Bunches of them (and the mushrooms) were cut from the English Fairy Garden Collage Sheet — I like how Daniela left a white border around the edges… they look like die-cuts (plus they stand out from the black background better).
Beside the few photos shown here, visit Daniela’s blog post for lots more info & photos! And here’s a link to the supply lists for the Nature’s Love Letters and Nature’s Letter Wall Hanging.
Short and sweet today. But we do have a winner to announce from the Serene Journal for Late Spring Giveaway in last Sunday’s newsletter: Kathe Deck! Congrats! Check your email for info.
Now don’t forget: the All Things French sale ends tonight!
