It’s beginning to look a lot like… Fall
Filed under Back in Stock, Giveaways, Halloween Countdown Kit, Laura Carson, Rhonda Secrist Thomas, Rubber Stamps
We had our first rain (sprinkles, really). (Sorry, Arizona! I know you guys are getting swamped.)
As the weather is in flux (100 degrees last March?!) I am enjoying NOT having Indian Summer (I know, I just jinxed it). But I’m looking forward to Fall and Winter (Halloween and Christmas… Saturnalia, whatever you celebrate).
So I’m mixing in a few new *Christmas* items today. I know, some of you are already busy making gifts… and that post-Halloween crafting-time is short!
BUT FIRST: 2 fun HALLOWEEN projects to oggle today! And both have to do with light (candles… or LED faux candles)…
Embalm Stamped Candleholders by Rhonda Secrist Thomas
Wow! These turned out great!
Not much to tell you about… you can see Rhonda’s work-in-progress photo below (stamp the new Crowned Skull Cling Stamp with black ink on parchment… color with colored pencils… tear the edges… glue to a mason jar). Oh, and tie on some cheesecloth with a bit of twine or ribbon (and put a tealight inside).
Nice job, Rhonda!
New Products!
Hooray for the Halloween Lanterns Giveaway!
(And hooray for the second Halloween project!)
Laura Carson! Laura has been such a busy bee lately (lately? I know… this whole year with her Streets of Paris projects) that I’m just getting to her September kit art!
Laura picked out 3 from the 5 mini Halloween shrines that went live last month and (with the help of a lot of glitter!) made some very sparkly Halloween Lanterns.
Here’s a bit from Laura’s blog post:
I glittered and attached cut-outs from the Black Creepy Critters Shape Set, Wood Jack-o-Lanterns Cut-Outs & the Narrow Spider Web Flourish Borders. I think my favorite creepy critters are the rats as they have very detailed whiskers and tails.
(Psst… do take a minute to visit Laura’s blog post for tips on decorating the shrines… like spray painting the LED Tea Lights black.)
EVERYTHING in Laura’s Halloween Lanterns Supply List is included in today’s Giveaway! Just click on this Supply List link for photos and links to everything in Laura’s artwork, which are also all included in the Giveaway!
Note: if an item is duplicated in the Halloween Countdown Kit (included in the Giveaway) and also listed separately in the supply list, I’m just including one of those items. (AND since there’s a shrine in the kit that’s different the the 3 Laura decorated, you’ll get FOUR shrines!)
BONUS: I’m adding some glitter, too! (Not quite the same ones as Laura used but these will make good substitutes.)
– Purple Glitter (note: that’s on clearance!)
– Pumpkin Orange Ultrafine Glitter
– Raven Iridescent Glitter
