New Artwork: An Exploding Explore Box by Nichola Battilana!
So clever that Nichola! She made this pretty Double Explosion Box (which is also in the July kit, and Nichola used papers and charms from that kit, too)… but instead of the whole box “exploding” when the lid is removed, she has loosly tied together the inside box with twine, so there’s a second box inside the first!
From Nichola’s blog post:
I’ve used a bunch of pieces from the Wanderlust Printed Chipboard which I kinda love.
Quick tip: cut your paper just slightly smaller than the sides and you wont have to worry about bends and folds at the corners. I painted my box first, then applied squares of Wanderlust Souvenir Scrapbook Paper. It made things soooo much easier.
Open the box and inside there’s another, tied with twine and embellished with snips from the
Vintage Travel Tags & Hardware Collage Sheet.
Remove that wee box and inside a compass so that you’ll never be lost on your wandering adventures.
Perfect! Beside these photos of Nichola’s project, there’s another photo down in the Giveaway section, where you can enter to win lots of supplies from Nichola’s supply list! And be sure to visit Nichola’s blog for more photos and tips (and a surprise second exploding box)!

Hooray! The compass is a must! I will take my grandbaby out for an exploration by the riverbed. We’ll EXPLORE and place our treasures in the box we have decorated!
Congrats Jeanine! I Like the compass and the n,e,s,w. I would like to do a children by the seashore/beach/summer fun exploding box. Thanks for the chance to win.
I really love the compass and the maps. And their vintage look.
The box design definitely and the travel theme in general.
Love the compass and maps! And the exploding box!
Love the new starfish…the entire box is wonderful!
My favourite part of this project is the compass. It gives a message and a ‘direction’.
I love when open something and it reveals more and more to see.
I like the little buttons on each piece. It ties them all together.
I really like the compass and the flaps on each side.

So hard to believe that there are only 163 days till Christmas!

Love the by the sea theme.
I just adore the mini seahorses, shells and starfish! So cute!
Lovely project, my favourite detail is the compass in the middle and the way the little triangular pennants make the n,e,w,s stamped letters pop.
My favorite detail is the little n-s-e-w buttons.
I just love this.. and I just did a book with an ‘adventure’ theme and am busy making tags, cards and other things with this theme to go with my adventures with others over the summer.
I love the sea shells, starfish and the compass. In fact, I love anything that has to do with the ocean. I am a nautical person.
I love the collage and scrapbook papers, especially the mini watercolor papers.
I would do a very similar box for my niece who is visiting me in NY from California. We are having a great time at the shore and I would make this as a reminder of our wonderful time together.
My two favorites are the Wanderlust chipboard and the Wanderlust scrapbook papers. I don’t even have to leave the house to go on an exploration!! LOL!
I love the Explore on the top. I got hooked on travel many years ago with a short theater tour of London and still love exploring, but have become a little more adventurous.
What a fabulous project! I love the rustic feel of the whole box and the compass in the center is a great detail!

I love the whole box!!! Nicely decorated! I would love to try a box card!
I really like the twine tied bundle, more to explore.
I think maybe make the box with a few changes like a treasure map for kids would be cute.
I love this box, but my favorite part is the compass hidden away in the middle as a surprise.
I think my favorite details are the N, S, E, W, charms on the inner box, and the starfish on the top. Beautiful!
This is just delightful! Love the starfish and compass!
I would use scenes from vintage postcards along with the wanderlust papers to create travels to an uncharted land.
