The Chocolate Shop, New Display Windows & Miniature Baking Sale!
Filed under Collage Sheets, Laura Carson, Miniature Baking, Miniatures, Sale, Streets of Paris, Tutorials
Remember Design Team Member Laura Carson’s Boutique Buildings from a few week’s ago? That was the fourth post of a series.
Today’s project is the fifth of many that will roll out over the next few months… all leading to building a group of miniature Parisian shops: The Streets of Paris. There will be a chocolate shop, a cafe, clothing boutique, flower shop, bookstore & pharmacy. I can’t wait to see all the details! More info here.
So, on to today’s project: The Chocolate Shop!
You might want to go back a couple posts in this series and look at Laura’s chocolates & sweets she made (that are used inside the Chocolatier).
The new products and techniques shown today can be used on all sort of projects (whether building a chocolate store or not)!
Wow! Isn’t that stunning?! The perfect additions to the sides of the shop (and even lit up to show the tasty treats)! Lucky for you: Laura shares all in her tutorial video!
There are 3 new Rectangular Bay Windows today, all sized to fit on the 2-Story Room Box French Quarter. Laura uses two of them as display windows for her Chocolatier.
(Note: the narrower window fits the width of the window on the Storefront Room Boxes (and can also be used to add more display areas to the sides of any of the deep room boxes).)
There’s also a new Chocolate Shop Digital Set (and Collage Sheet) with items to decorate the inside and outside of a chocolate, patisserie or cake shop. And a new Chocolate Shop Bags & Boxes Collage Sheet, with a big group of chocolate shop box and bag designs (you can see a couple of the shopping bags below in the photo of the display window included in today’s Giveaway).
From her blog post:
The bay windows, which I think are the star of the shop, are made using NEW easy-to-assemble chipboard kits. I’ve used two of the three styles for the Chocolatier. The new Chocolate Shop digital image set contains a series of awnings that are sized to fit the new windows.
See everything Laura used (inside and out… I haven’t even mentioned the inside of the shop!) in her supply list. And come back after enjoying her tutorial video for new items, a new sale, new FREE gift, and a related Giveaway!

Hooray for the Chocolate Shop Window Giveaway!
Oh my… there are so many pretties in this project, I didn’t know where to start. I decided on the Rectangular Bay Window – 2 Columns (and a bunch of the items displayed inside):
– Rectangular Bay Window – 2 Columns (note that Laura turned the window around, so the side with windowpanes is papered over and is now her back wall)
– Chocolate Shop Collage Sheet (poster on the back wall of the window)
– Chocolate Shop Bags & Boxes Collage Sheet (pink shopping bags in the window display)
– Glass Microscope Slides (part of glass case in window)
– Antique Gold Rope-Edged Rondelles (part of glass case in window)
– Red, Ivory & Pink Patterns Scrapbook Paper Set (pink striped paper is on the back wall of the display window, but you’ll get the whole set!)
– 42x30mm Antique Gold Diamond Filigree (not in today’s supply list, but part of glass case in window)
– Sparrows Compass Brass Link (not in today’s supply list, but part of glass case in window)
– Polymer Clay Cane – Red Hearts (not in today’s supply list, but on cakes in window)
Note: you can check out the Glass Displays post for more info on how some of those Giveaway items were used to make the glass case shown inside the window.

The mini cakes are adorable. Thanks for the opportunity.
I just visited an incredible chocolate shop on vacation and this is spot on! Very sophisticated. I especially like the gold filigree and red/pink papers. Thanks for the chance to win and the wonderful inspiration.
I’m going to have to do a sweets window. I have fallen in love with Laura’s project. Since I’m heavily back into Miniatures this will fit right in.
The entire thing is fantastic! It is perfect as a chocolate shop window display and that’s what I would make.
OH! THIS is TOO wonderful for words. I will buy a box on bonbons and savor all of them as I create my little chocolate heaven. (I’ll work with my grandbabies and share a few chocolates)
chocolate chocolate chocolate I would make a chocolate display
This is so pretty! I would love to make a confectioners shop with these pieces!
Chocolate-YUMMY!!
The cakes!!! Love them.
OMG! You had me at CHOCOLATE! This adorable scene reminds me of the movie Chocolat! Love that movie!
The colors caught my eye first, but everything looks wonderful & real. Made me crave a cupcake when I saw it!
Who Doesn’t love Chocolate….Love the windows.
Love this window, and I do have the perfect display stand for it!
Custom made for some Gothic confections!
Beautiful job, ladies!
I love all of it. But mostly I love how the shelves are displayed so artistically with the different confections.
Gorgeous. Go Laura!
I have a dear friend who just became a “Chocolatier” and opened a shop. I would love to make this as a gift to be displayed in the shop.
I just love this shop!! I would love to add this to my collection. I love everything Paris and the pink and brown colors are amazing!! Once again, you nailed it Laura!!
Super cute bay windows! I love the cake with the hearts!
Love the chocolate shop window. I made the Christmas tray some months ago and it was so much fun. So fun to work with miniatures. My daughter loved it!
Wow this is awesome. The cakes look good enough to eat! Would love to make something like this ….or use the bay window to make a Diagon Alley type window
Chocolate … the magic word. Not only would I love to win this, but I’d also love to watch Laura work in person. She’s a true inspiration!
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate how wonderful to enjoy and not count the calories or worry about sugar. Thanks for giving one of us the opportunity to get the whole kit and caboodle for leaving a comment on your wonderful project.
What lovely work Laura does! I could only hope to do a shop just like this one.
it’s all about the Chocolate!!!! love the bay windows!
All of the cheerful colors in the window catch my eye so I think it’s stay with chocolate shop.
Laura does such astonishing work. I would attempt to make a chocolate display as nice as hers!
I love the wedding cake display..however, I am craving sweets now..totally overwhelmed by Laura’s work
Be still my miniature loving heart! What an amazing creation! I would make a patisserie shop to start with! If I win this sweet giveaway you can email me at macaskillbarbara@yahoo.com. TFS!
OMG, this too “”dang” cute. I would do it just like Laura. She does amazing work.
WOW…you have outdone yourself. This is off the chart! LOVE the French theme, love the silicone mold accents, I love everything about this giveaway!
I picked the wrong week to try to diet. This is too delicious.
The Chocolate Shop is absolutely darling. I’d love to add it too my collection of doll accessories. It’s wonderful……
Definitely the chocolate shop! Or maybe a bakery or a jewelry shop…there’re too many choices!
Oh, I would 💘 to build a chocolate shop window!
The window item that really caught my eye was a pink cake with a huge, loopy chocolate bow on top and chocolate ribbon down the sides. I hadn’t considered doing this shop until I saw these pictures. Now I’m hooked!
Love the Chocolate Shop! It would be fun to make little boxes of chocolates.
What a fabulous creation by Laura! I want to make it all!!!
The display window. I used to help my friend who owned a bear and toy store with her window decorations. So maybe an homage to that….or Halloween……
The color scheme is yummy! I want someone to shrink me down to the right size!!! Laura’s work is so realistic and so beautiful. I can’t wait for the whole of her Paris project to be finished. It would be fun to make an antiques shop window
A chocolate shop staffed by kawaii bunnies
I’d start with the chocolate cake with strawberries on top as the centerpiece of the chocolate shop and make it the centerpiece to announce the birth of our first Great Grandchild Harpur Jo. Nothing could be better!!
Yes please!!!!! This is the best!
Congrats to Sandie! Wow! Love it! The lights were the first thing, then the wedding cake, then all the other goodies, but the shelving also, just everything! It looks so realistic. Laura did it again 😀
I would try the same…love chocolate. Thanks for an opportunity once again.
This is just adorable, and I love the chocolate color to go with the chocolate treats, very rich looking. I think the windows are fantastic and looks like they go together quite easily….I love all miniatures and this is perfect. Thank you so much….
Besides miniatures, chocolate is my weakness. What a wonderful combo.
The cupcakes look fantastic!
Love, love, love it. I want to make all of the shops!
After spending the last five years in Germany and heading off to France more time than I can count during that time, I am now recently back in the states and missing my European life something fierce. Oh this wonderful little chocolate window immediately brought me back to the lovely shops and cafes we’d pop into. Whether it be Paris, Alsace, or in the Loire Valley. It is truly wonderful!
This project went way beyond my expectations! I just love it. I am so excited to see Lauras last project for the apothocary I am saving my 2 story room box for that one but I love the idea of a book store as well of course a metaphysical witchy one! Those bay windows were spectacular!!
Yum! I love the choclate shop theme and would love to make one.
I’m in heaven, chocolate heaven – miniature heaven – Parisian heaven…. This project has all of my favorite things at once!
What a joy to look at. The chocolate shop is a dream with the goodies waiting to be adorned! Love it!!!!
A bakery window would be the most fun to make.
These are JUST what my spooky apothecary needs to show off its latest & creepiest acquisitions! LOVE these!
Laura, will you please stop being so talented?! I love this!! Those little cakes and candies look so cute and yummy too!
