We had an amazing turnout for the Mad, Mad, Mad House Swap and trying to choose the winner of the best in show was NOT an easy decision.
Without further ado we would like to congratulate Kim Baier as the winner of the $100 of Art Supplies from Alpha Stamps!
Kim’s houses are have a little bit of what we love the most around here, they’re a little bit quirky, somewhat surreal and a little bit off balance. I love how she has a little odd scenes on her houses, horses jumping through a window at the top of a house, creepy doll heads looking out of a window at you, and also how she used 3D elements on some of her houses.
When Kim was notified that she had won, she was asked to tell us a little bit about herself. Kim said:
“Wow! how cool! This is the first time I’ve entered any of my work. I’ve made a couple of things for charitable auctions; a 28 inch polymer clay Santa and a Garden Art Journal. By those examples you can tell that I have tried a lot of different media; I’ve made things as small as micro glitter houses and as large as 10’x12′ greenhouse made out of recycled windows. I have no training except trial and error, mostly error! I live in Michigan with my husband, two Giant Schnauzers, four cats in the house, one feral cat who has adopted us and one horse. Thank you, I’m so glad that I entered!”
You can see Kim’s winning Mad, Mad, Mad House here, and all of the swap players’ houses are in the Gallery.
