Guest Design Marilyn Hughes – Coming Up Roses

We are pleased to have Marilyn Hughes as a Guest Designer for The Garden Kit!
“I am a wife and mother that loves Mixed Media Art, miniatures, vintage items, “junkin”, altered art, and reading. I have a sometimes supportive husband (let’s say I’m cluttered & not good at cleaning) whom I’ve been married to for 27 years & THE BEST son a mother could want. My mother is my partner in crime, attending estate sales and auctions hunting for the right items for our Etsy stores and antique mall space. My motto is “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” That’s the way I roll.”
Marilyn’s inspiration from The Garden Kit was flowers… lots and lots of gorgeous roses and beautiful blossoms.
Marilyn’s project, Coming Up Roses was created by first gluing all of the pages together from the Album with Arched Door; which made it easier for her to cut a uniform niche out of it.
Note: The Arched Windows Set is a good substitute for the sold out album.
The dreamy main image that Marilyn used is from the Bacchus #2 Collage Sheet; and then framed it with the Ivy ATC Frame.
Framing the niche are oodles of flowers, butterflies and fairies; and the finishing touch are two sweet little flat-backed planters filled with creamy pink roses. Don’t you think it would make a beautiful Spring vignette?
