Mr. McGregor’s Garden & Tea Bookmarks

Design Team Member Nichola Battilana brings you a whimsical Room Box of Mr. McGregor’s Garden.
“This month the Alpha Stamps kit is The Garden. Although the thought of a tiny a fairy garden did fleet through my mind, I decided to create a corner of Mr. McGregor’s Garden instead.
If you need help recalling who Mr. McGregor is, he is the big old meanie who tends the garden that Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny ‘visit’ in Beatirix Potter’s books. That’s Peter’s jacket on the scarecrow. He lost it in the garden after his mother warned him not to go there.
This corner of the McGregor’s Garden was created using a Corner Room Box as a base with a Stone Wall Chipboard Texture Sheet and plaster to achieve the wall. Although difficult to see, there is a brick path edging the soil. Can you guess what was used for the soil? Tea!
The clay pots scattered in the garden, like a Terracotta Wall Planter and the English Flower Box are super cute. I think they add a touch of extra colour which compliment Peter’s blue jacket. And did you notice the brass buttons which Peter was so proud of in the story? They are 3mm Brass Flat-Back Studs.”
Also worth noting in Mr. McGregor’s Garden is a Mini Wrought Iron Fence that Nichola painted white and the super sweet flowers that she planted (made) with Flower Soft. You may remember that Nichola provided a tutorial on how to make the flowers, and just so you know they’re very easy to make.

What? Another project? YES! And you know who made it? That busy like a bee Design Team Coordinator Miz Bella! Bella has made a set of bookmarks in a tea theme using the Odd Houses Add-On Kit — a gift for her niece who loves reading and having tea parties!
Down the road and up the hill is the Oddities Tea House. Full of unusual and somewhat eccentric patrons, there are always going-ons at the house. Dancing rabbits, thumb sized fairies, and high tea with the old Tom cat who likes to tell fantastical stories. (Stories that no one can quite figure out if he’s telling the truth, or pulling their legs.)
There is a prized set of bookmarks in the house; kept in a very safe place as they’ve been known to help unlock the most magical of worlds in the minds of little people.
When not in use, the house-shaped bookmarks will be kept safe by the Tea House Curator, one Mr. Phineas S. Chick who has a penchant for fine pipe tobacco, dancing girls, fancy velvet hats and of course, tea. However, I must say that I am not responsible for any bad habits that one may pick up by using the bookmarks.

One of the best projects ever! I’d make a flower shop.
I’m in love with Mr. McGregor’s garden! What a BEAUTIFUL scene!!
These art projects just keep getting better and better!
What a wonderful garden. The kit is great, must make a garden scene, secret garden, perhaps.
Looks like a bunny full of fun garden!
Without a doubt a secret garden!
This is adorable, I just love gardens! What a great project for this time of year! I think I would have to focus on what’s down the rabbit hole, and make the Easter bunny’s home!!!
I would stay with the garden theme, I love this little Mr. McGregor’s garden, or a Secret Garden theme… I have the Graphic 45 papers to work with either one, so many ideas!
aNother fabulous and amazing project!! lOving this garden theme. I would make a my sister’s garden. Hers is magical..
Mr. McGregor’s Garden is delightful! Love all the little details and am plannning to dig out my flower soft today to make some flowers for my fairy village! Would love to make a whole garden using the Corner Room Box! I can see lots of little gnomes and maybe a troll or two also! One of my fairy friends has told me that the gremlins are planning to do a march to demand better housing and the gnomes are saying that if the Gremlins want better housing they should get a job and work for what they want. I am thinking that things are going to get a little crazy for the Fairy world and know they would love to have a spot to go for a little bit of peace and quiet! A garden would be the perfect place! Maybe the gremlins can work for the fairies doing gardening and make enough to build there new housing! Then there would be peace for a little while at least!
I love Mr. McGregor’s garden, but I would like to make a miniature of my own garden as I hope it will be.
oh the wonders of a garden , I especially liked the kit with the bones in the yard and may have to try to make something on that order… possibly even have tiny boney hands peaking out from a few flower pots here & there…the mysteries a garden could hold right down to the last details! he he he !!
I like the idea of a library garden, books growing out of planters and drooping from the limbs of trees.
This creation is wonderful! I don’t think I could achieve one quite so marvelous, but if I won this lovely kit, I’d think I’d like to create a little bird-and-bunny corner garden.
Would love to make a secret garden.
This is a very cute project! I love the stone textured chipboard on the walls. I think I’d make a little garden corner for some flower fairies.
I love the idea of a high tea in a secret garden myself. And I think I would have to have door so the roses could climb around it.Sometimes I don’t know what I will do with something until I have it in my hands.I love Nicholas garden and those hose bookmarks of Kim Ayers are marvelous! I wonder if a little /24 scale Gypsy wagon I just ordered would fit in or with this… Really love these room boxes you have they are great!
I think it would be great fun to create an Easter/spring scene with this giveaway.
This project is just adorable and the detail that went into it are amazing.
Oh my…I have so many ideas for the this it’s hard to pick one. Two ideas came to mind…either a garden as I live in an apartment and can’t have a real one and I have no green thumb or a altar. As I am Pagan this would make the perfect spot for outdoor spiritual worship.
Instead of Mr. McGregor’s garden, I’d make
a garden just for Peter and Benjamin–love
bunnies in my backyard–I have plants just
for them to nibble on!
What great giveaway. I Love Beatrix Potter stories! I would stay within the garden theme, maybe a different scene for Peter Rabbit or the Mad Hatters Tea Party. So many ideas flying through my head right now. :0)
I would have to follow Nichola. I would make the scene with Jemima and the wolf, so many flowers in that scene
I absolutely love Mr. McGregor’s garden!!! I would want to duplicate it for sure! Thank you for the chance to win!!!
Would love to make a flower garden. Love the little scarecrow. I like the look of an overgrown/hidden garden.
Too cute-love the garden. Would love to make one too! >^..^<
i would make an Alice in Wonderland garden!
Nichola’s garden is delightful, as always! If I win, I will try to make a look-alike of Beatrix Potter’s house (I have visited several times and have photos to refer to) with Peter in the garden of course! Thank you for the chance to win! Very generous of you indeed!
I love Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit!!!! It would be so fun to make Mr. McGregor’s garden 🙂 Peter’s little blue jacket is adorable – thank you for the opportunity!
A little getaway in the corner of the garden!!
There are so many terrific possibilities but I love the Peter Rabbit theme, so I would probably go with that idea. Thank you for all the great inspiration!
I think I would do a garden tea party!! Love theses!!
Of course my grandbabe-s will be enchanted by this theme. I’ll let them help create the wee party…then we’ll celebrate with our own tea party. Thank you
I love this garden. I would definitely make some kind of garden scene.
i think i would make a secret garden spot where lovers could meet in secret for a quick kiss
I am wanting this garden…..
I would like to try doing a setting for a match of some sort between two rabbit. The girl rabbit will probably win !!!
the garden idea is darling! I would make a secret garden for bunnies! Where they could meet under the roses:-)
What a sweet garden! A lovely space for a teddy bear’s picnic!
I think I’d have to make a garden also. Not quite like Nichola did, but along the same lines. I just LOVE miniatures!
Love this cute garden project! I’d love making one like it!
I think I’d have to make a fairy garden. It’ just so charming!
Oh I would definitely make a box like this one.
I love Mr. McGregor’s garden. Peter was always one of my favorite Beatrix Potter stories. I would love to make a mini Pooh Bear scene, a special garden for Pooh and all his friends.
this tells me that it wants to become a tiny greenhouse. Plus, I hope I win, today is my birthday and this would be a great surprise :~D
A flower garden…..a secret garden….a vegetable garden….hmmmm…so many possibilities
I would make a flower garden, maybe with a relaxing bench to sit on.
Geez as being a gardener myself, I find this absolutely lovely. Would probably do the same she has done!!
Would Love to win it!
This beautiful giveaway is great. I would try to create an Easter bunny candy store. I would use a variety of your miniatures and lovely bunny collage sheets.
Would love to make an
Easter scene! So sweet! Peter rabbit was always a favorite of mine
I love Mr McGregors garden so yes, I would make it. Thank you for this chance to win. and thank you for the wonderful idea’s.
I would try to make a garden scene. Since I seem to be inept at really growing things, I could pretend this was my garden.
I would love to make Mr. McGregors garden! It’s simply adorable! Thanks for the chance to win, I”ve been inspired by this post.
My Mom is a huge fan of Peter Rabbit and I would love to make this garden scene for her!
I think I would make the garden the way it is. It is so cute as a room box, and I would add a few bits and baubles to add to the Peter Rabbit theme. Thanks for the chance to win.
For some reason this little corner called out to me to become a reading nook with bookshelves and a cozy chair…and potted plants!
what wonderful memories these images evoke! i love it all! xo
